  • wait, since when has the doctor ever been tangible?

  • @Antichrist2000 since always, he's made of forcefields and photons, he has to be tangible to manipulate instruments and perform surgery.

  • Loved the way how she was staring at her hand at the Beginning. For a minute I thought she was stoned. ^^

  • @kuribayashi84 My hand is like....HUGE dude. XD

  • Now all we have to do is deliever some liquor to the borg....If a single glass of synthahael will do that to seven, immagine what a glass of the real stuff would do......

  • That's her way of doing the whole "I love you man! You're my bro!"

  • LOL @ 'Inaprovaline'... I bet he's gonna put it in her mouth.

  • who knew that the most dangerous beings in the universe could be brought down by a bit of wine. they should load the torpedos with beer and fire em at borg cubes!

  • I thought synthahol wasn't supposed to have the effects of actual alcohol

  • @FutureMarine246 Well, usually it doesn't, at least with most humanoids. It's supposed to be easily broken down by organic bodies, but that obviously doesn't apply to the Borg ;)

Also: why should the borg prepare for alcohol/synthehol, they usually don't drink, not even water xD

  • Seven of Nine can be pretty funny at times, like in this one. By contrast, the Doctor can become rather frightening at times when his programming malfunctions in a spectacular manner. Both characters are played by excellent actors.

  • @Waterflux Indeed

  • haha harry kim is jealous of the doctor;) suits him right he had his chance..

  • She is such a fine actress. It's a shame they just wanted to use her for eye candy.

  • inaprovaline = 24th Century medical term for:

    pe·nis (pns)

    n. pl. pe·nis·es or pe·nes (-nz)

The male organ of copulation and of urinary excretion, formed by three columns of erectile tissue, two arranged laterally on the dorsum and one medianly below; the extremity is formed by an expansion of the corpus spongiosum, covered by a free fold of skin.

  • @934dragon TMI bro...The doc doesn't have a penis...

  • @duncan343

Actually in "Message in a bottle" he tells the EMH MK-II he's made the "necessary adaptions (or additions) to his program"

I supppose technially he can have as many as he wants, one for each day of the week.

    Suppose thats TMI too lol

  • @934dragon wow i now envy the EMH if i had that capability god knows i would extend mine a few inches

  • AWWW don't call her a drone. That hurts my feelings even. PEACE!

  • And here they say that synthehol doesn't make drunk: watch?v=7sYJinHOvwM&feature=related

  • shes just a character in a tv series

  • Whitch Episode ?

  • I don't know what's better, Seven drunk or the look of contempt on Tuvok's face at 0:37!

  • Here is a new tactic to defeat the borg collective. Introduce a virus into said collective and change the drones perogitives to liven up and party with liquor. Since borg drones can't handle liquor well, Starfleet will easily be able to defeat any borg threats XD

  • I wish Jeri Ryan and I "were as one," if you know what I mean.

    (Insert rim-shot here.)

  • Just 1 glass of champagne...? Insufficient.

  • Well, I know what my go-to excuse for drunkenness is from now on. "I was merely trying t perfect my social skills!"

  • i wanna be your assistent too;) lovely seven of mine! uh nine ..anyways

  • A classic scene. Poor Seven!

  • Give her some jägerbombs! She'll be sorted then! :-)

  • "We are as one! We are as one."

The Borg equivalent of "This guy right here... This is the guy!"

  • I love how Seven was basically saying, "You've always been a great friend to me, Doc."

  • bahaha

  • A new strategy against the Borg is coming up.^^

  • @germanvisitor2 All that time wasted on 'weapons' when they could've destroyed the Borg with a few hundred gallons of lager.

  • According to the Star Trek wiki, synthohol's alcohol-like content is quickly broken down by an enzyme possessed by most humanoids. Perhaps the Borg's alterations to Seven (and every other Borg) cause the enzyme to no longer be produced, possibly in favor of an artificial chemical produced by an implant. So really, to fight the Borg from now on, the Federation should start beaming tons of, say, gaseous synthohol onto Borg ships or carry hyposprays loaded with lethal quantities of the stuff.

  • good job they didn't have any klingon blood wine

  • There has been a lot of talk about "synthol does not make you drunk/intoxicated", with various reasons, some more plausible. I have one of my own: In our real world, not all people reacts the same to alcohol, either because of biological reasons (your weight, physical fitness, amongst others) or because they are "used"/"accustomed" to handle alcohol. Is it entirely in-proable that the reaction to synthehol varies from one person to the other?

  • that woman's wearin the tightest, most sluttiest cat-suit ever

  • Synthehol is broken down by the body into harmless chemicals. Seven does not possess the ability to break it down, as the Borg implants took over parts of her systems when she was a child, and did not develop those particular abilities. Think of it like an immune system developing, but without the ability to fight off the things it never needed to.

Other alien species have also been shown to be lacking this biological factor, and get drunk off synthehol.

    This is the canon explanation.

  • Comment removed

  • @Anvilshock

It's true by standard alcohol amounts it shouldn't have made her drunk, but it's synthehol, and we don't know the exact rate of "imitation but able to be converted to real alcohol" alcohol. It's probably an oversight, as the scene was meant for humor, but I guess they could always come back one day and say "the synthehol converted into a much stronger version of alcohol."

  • @Draknfyre Actually, I misheard, that's why I removed the comment. To reach 3.5 g/kg BAC from one glass, Seven must weigh as little as 8-10 kg but the Doc said 0.5 which results in more realistic 70 kg.

  • Well, I had a little look around, and whodathunk: Screw canon, we're making the oh-so perfect Borg "accidentally overlook" in their countless assimilations the very natural and ubiquitous ability of human biology to break down this synth(a/e/o)hol stuff just to have a joke at the drone's expense. Figures.

  • Doctor: Seven, how many glasses of champaign did you consume?

    Seven: One.

Doctor: Obviously the Borg can't hold their liquor. LOL

  • what episode is this

  • hmm i wonder what she would say if she was on weed or acid?

  • Actually synthahol is a alcoholic drink only the effects are a lot less sivere if that was alcohol seven would be drunk within the first sip for as it was stated the borgs biochemistry is less tolerent for alcoholic drinks

  • In this situation you would have to be a dick to go to sick bay with Seven and not try and get your fingers wet.

  • Nows the time for Harry to pump some Seven pussy

  • oh, worse he was there and was oblivious to the fact.

  • A drunk seven and harry on bridge duty, D'oh.

  • What's the point of drinking if you can't get buzzed?

  • Imagine if she'd had any more. She'd have to be rushed to sickbay after waving her catsuit around and vomiting on the warp core.

  • LMAO! SHE IS MY FAV CHARACTER! SHE IS HILARIOUS!

  • When Seven of Nine appeared on the show the ratings and alot of other things increased in size ;-)

  • I liked "Body and Soul," where the Doctor takes over her body temporarily.

  • Gosh, Harry is such an... nevermind.

  • resistance is futile

  • So all this time, they were trying to defeat the Borg with standard Starfleet weaponry, and they could've just sprayed a buttload of beer at them?

  • my god, so many opportunitys, so little time...

  • I've read that synthahol produces an alcoholic intoxication, until the drinker tries to "snap themselves out of it". In other words, you get drunk only so long as you want to be.

  • Synthahol gets you drunk without the hang-over.

  • We are as one... We are as one!

  • Can I... uh... get some of that inaprovalene? For research purposes.

  • @Zorbo88 That's a real drug you know. I doubt you'd like the side effects though.

  • Uh ... isn't Synthohol supposed to be a taste substitute without the intoxicating properties of real alcohol? Who wrote that script??

  • @Anvilshock obviously someone who doesn't drink lol.

  • @Anvilshock Last I heard it was a similar compound to alcohol but without the minor side-effect of it being toxic and causing liver damage. It can still cause intoxication just without long-term damage. Still, it's pretty funny to see someone with a tolerence to booze so low she gets completly plastered from half a glass of non-alcoholic champagne.

  • @Anvilshock

probably it was some synthohol scotty prepared a long time ago after his adventure on the enterprise d just to mess around with some people.

and somehow this went on to land on this shit and make a hot ex-borg drunk.

  • @Anvilshock No, the drunkenness is merely treatable, explained in TNG relics.

  • @Anvilshock lol, yup. another voyager fail...hah,

as much as I do enjoy the series, they have lots of continuity errors it seems like...

  • @Anvilshock Synthehol needs to have *some* kick to it, otherwise why would people bother when the replicators can make alcohol, too? It's just supposed to prevent the 'negative effects' of alchohol, and I wouldn't call getting slightly buzzed a 'negative effect'. Most likely, Synthehol can get you a *bit* drunk, but not to the point where it's dangerous, and with no hangover afterwards/

  • well debate aside i think the scene was meant to be kinda funny... seven slurring thats a mildly disturbing sight because she acts so stern and serious most of the time

  • @Anvilshock I was always under the impression that it did have properteis of alcohol, just very low and quickly gone. So a normal person wouldnt really notice them that much when drinking normally.

  • @Anvilshock Its still slightly alchohol based.

  • @Anvilshock Since Seven of Nine is partially a cyborg, means "synthetic": maybe the "Synthohol" haves the same effects as real alcohol would have on a real person.

  • @Anvilshock yeah, in one episode Paris get's drunk off duty aswell. it seems to be an ongioing mistake... -.-

  • @Anvilshock, it's not supposed to just be a taste substitute, It's supposed to have pleasantly inebriating effects without the outright drunkenness, stupidity, potential aggression, hangovers etc of the real thing, rather like what Professor David Nutt has been trying to create in real life recently. It's supposed to be easily shaken off, though, which *is* a problem with this script... and another problem, which appears in every other episode of Voyager, is "Inaprovaline cures EVERYTHING!!!"

  • @Anvilshock i though Synthohol had intoxicating properties but they could were an easy "cure"

  • @Anvilshock Also, a party with alcohol in engineering right next to the warp core? Who wrote that script??

  • @Anvilshock Synthehol does make a person drunk but the effects of it can be removed chemically in an instant. There are plenty of other episodes all the way back to ST:TNG that show this.

  • @Anvilshock It must have been alcohol not of the federation or replicated Romulan ale or something,

  • @Anvilshock As Seven of Nine would say, "I am Borg" therefore...I guess synthehol would have a very DIFFERENT affect on her than it would somebody else

  • @Anvilshock it's made clear in the earlier novels and, IIRC, one episode of TNG. When you know how, you can "will" the intoxication away. Basically, when you're done partying, you just "shake it off" and you're no longer drunk. No mess, no hangover, no shuttlecraft crashes. The wonders of technology!

  • What's with the video being higher pitched than normal?

  • The Doctor here showing that, even in the 24th century, Rohypnol is still a viable means for getting laid.

  • @randomface54 viable means... to rape people, you mean?

  • @TungstenV Viable means "it will work" so, as a means to an end, yeah, Rohypnol still works as a date-rape drug in the 24th century.

  • @randomface54 i dont think sex was in doctors basic programming

  • @avalsonline2 In "message in a bottle" the Doctor told the EMH mk 2 that he had hacked his program to enable him to have sex.

  • Finally a way to fight the borg I just wish they all looked like Seven

  • Comment removed

  • how to stop the borg...

  • hmm drunken borg hottie...

prepare to be inseminated, resistance is futile!

    ...and possibly rape

  • Omfg, this video plus the two highest rated comments = absolute perfection. "We are as one... WE ARE AS ONE!" Man, that was great. XD

  • With boobies like that who needs social skills.

  • We are as one?

  • "Hold still"

    "I cannot comply" :D

  • yeah ummm...come to sick and I'll ummm....

  • Obviously The Borg can't hold their liquor

  • We are as one! *turns to harry *We are as one!" XD

  • omg seven has HUGE boobs :D

  • Hold still!

    I cannot comply.

  • Jeri Ryan acts decently, Garrett Wang immediately compensates by being totally dire. Business as usual.

  • We are the borg we are also very drunk.

  • !Obviously the Borg can't hold their liquor". Hahaha!

  • "We are the Borg. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile. We are the Borg. . . . . Unless you give us alcohol. Alcohol will make us susceptible. But, you are not supposed to know that because . . . . . WE ARE THE BORG!" xD

  • Imagine what it would be like if Seven were still connected to the Borg collective.

"We are the Borg. You will be assimilated. Resistance is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."

  • Hehe, I crack up at the smirk that Kim has on his face when Seven and the Doctor leave.

  • Wait, I thought synthehol didn't have the same intoxicating effects as alcohol.

  • @inamerica55585 I think it was that it doesnt give you a hangover after, you can still get plastered. =p

  • @inamerica55585 It doesn't not for most people. Some humans and some alien species still react to it like they would with normal alcohol.

  • @inamerica55585 me too. I guess when you want a gratuitous scene you can shove any old dreck into the script to justify it.

  • @inamerica55585 That is why Voyager is flawed.

  • They call them fingers but have you ever seen them fing?

  • If seven of nive was a member of my spaceship there would have been a massive rape after 5 sec she got on board

  • FUCK I love Voyager

  • DRUNK BORG :D :/

  • The lighting on Voyager was always perfect.

  • is this Timeless?

  • WE ARE AS ONE!

  • hold still

    i cannot comply

    LOL

  • Drunk as a skunk. Silly Borg! Booze is for humans.

  • i don't understand why they say she's drunk from synthehol. Its not suppose to make you drunk. Why couldn't they just have stocked real champagne somewhere and have actual alcohol.

  • @jutau Synthehol is one of those poorly explained things in ST. Often it is suggested that it does not provoke drunkeness. Yet, they serve that in bars.

Alcohol is available if one bothers to search that, and it doesn't seem to be illegal so... ... "uh?"

Better not thinking too much, let's just enjoy the show. ;)

  • @jutau The Ferengi made sure their synthehol was more popular than Champagne. It's one of their rules of acquisition...

  • I wonder if Seven of Nine has computer chips in her cooch.

  • @MrRobotoToo that's the real question, isn't it...

  • Now if only she had sung while horrbily drunk. I know the perfect song....

A BRITISH TAR IS A SOARING SOUL AS FREE AS A MOUNTAIN BIRD........

  • That was your chance Harry. Seize the opportunity.

  • ROFL

"you are my mentor.... We are as one"

    Great clip lol

  • Good thing it has english subtitles so I can understand lol

    no but really great clip

  • ''Obviously the borg can't hold their liquor''. Haha Doctor FTW

  • !

    Hammer!

    xD

  • I could swear the entire point of synthehol replacing alcohol was so you could drink all you want and NOT get drunk.

  • @GANONDEATH130 /watch?v=7sYJinHOvwM

  • @GANONDEATH130 Well you could say that their kinda pushed the level of synthehol for a small alcoholic effect because of the celebration. But apparently just a small push is to much for seven.^^

  • @GANONDEATH130 From what I understand, you can get mildly drunk, but can become clear headed qucikly with no hangover.

    memory-alpha*org/wiki/Synthehol

  • @loperspest but it sounds like champagne, not synthehol. Dunno, but that's funny.

Great acting by Jeri Ryan! :D

  • Comment removed

  • @astrangeone @astrangeone Synthehol champagne, mayhap?

And yes, despite been introduced as eye candy, Jeri Ryan is a fine actress and 7 of 9 an Arch Snark!

  • @GANONDEATH130 It's suppose to simulate the experience of alcohol, not prevent the experiences and effects.

  • @GANONDEATH130 And I though the whole point of alcohol was so you could get drunk -_-'

  • @GANONDEATH130 No, actually, it gets you drunk, it's just easy to treat the drunkenness- They go over this in tng "relics".

  • @Ephisus

No, it doesn't get you drunk. The line in "Relics" is the only reference to it having an affect on you, and even Worf's comment can be taken different ways. "Easily dismissed" could mean you coupld completely ignore it.

As explained in Voyager, most humanoids have an enzyme which breaks down synthehol into a harmless chemical. Some species lack this, and synthehol will get you drunk. 7, who relied on her Borg technology to keep her healthy, probably never needed to develop it,

  • @Draknfyre That's ridiculous. Easily dismissed means it can be neutralized medically. It's clearly stated in relics that it has "intoxicating" effects- read: you can get drunk from it.

  • @Ephisus

You are misreading into it. It does not mean "can be neutralized medically". Relics contains the ONLY mention of it ever having an effect on you. Everything else, other episodes, books, and tech-style manuals describe it tasting like alchohol with NONE of the effects.

The enzyme thing was explained in the official description.

  • @Draknfyre Crap writing, then.

  • @Ephisus

So, you are going to take one line, and call it canon over 3 other series, books, and the official description?

Since the beginning, synthehol was described as "tasting like alchohol, with none of the effects."

In fact, that's part of the reason why some races, like the Ferengi, deride it. Not only do they say it doesn't taste the same, but it doesn't have the effect of getting you drunk, which is the whole point why some people drink.

  • @Draknfyre Yeah.

  • @Ephisus

and thus is affected by synthehol.

Now, the replicator can make real alchoholic beverages, so if you see someone drunk, do not assume automatically that it's synthehol.

  • @GANONDEATH130 I think the point of synthehol is that you don't get a hangover.

  • @GANONDEATH130 you'd be right. the writers of voyager make massive continuity errors throughout the series as is usually the case with ST

  • @kefka3 But synthehol does make people intoxicated—just not as severely and with less harmful effects. It's also easier to negate its impact.

  • haha very amusing

  • So.. instead of torpedos the federation should be fireing kegs of beer?

  • i bet he took her back to sick bay and fucked her

  • "WE ARE...WE ARE...THE BORG. WE'RE PUTTING TOGETHER A BEER PONG TOURNAMENT AND WANTED TO KNOW IF YOU WANTED IN. LOSER GETS AS...ASSIMULOLED. ATED. ASSIMILATED."

  • We are as one! We are as one!! :D *happy seven* lol

  • I don't know all that much about Star Trek, but I'm sure she will be able to drink anyone under the table once she has adapted to alcohol?????

  • Doctor: "Hold still!

    Seven: "I cannot comply."

  • Lol one of my favorite scenes. Wish they did this a little more often.

  • What episode is this from?

  • @cdciam09 The episode is called "Timeless" from the 5th Season.
