@blastmastertv doom metal is a slow type subgenre of metal, kinda depressing, ,melancholic, and i love it. Grindcore is a subgenre of Punk, to be accurate of crust punk, and it's some times confused with death metal or brutal death metal, due to both have extreme fast tempos and guttural vocals. I hope it helps
@blastmastertv It's been 4 months since you commented but if it helps; bands involved in doom metal include Black Sabbath, Candlemass and Anathema among others. Grindcore includes Napalm Death, early Carcass and Bolt Thrower among others.
Who cares what type of metal is this jesus. Stop being so childish jeez. If u like it listen to it, if not listen to something else. Ah and i knew there had to be someone who had to comment slipknot like everywhere else at metal bands on youtube. Seriously grow up.
Good stuff. The only Metals that ever mattered to me are Death Metal, Black Metal and Trash. That's it. Well, Speed Metal's nice altho i got more into the death n black. The rest is just nonsense.
The early 90's was insane. Glad i was there to experience some very good music. Too bad i was so young, altho i was old enuff to choose between the dark and the darker and always made the right choice. When in doubt, follow the drums!
Grindcore, Death metal, who gives a fuck? I like being able to identify different types of metal, but all these sub-categories of metal are making things more confusing not less.
I've realized that they're not so much confusing, but the more specific you make a genre, the less original any artist within that subgenre ends up being.
I mean look at doom metal. That's already pretty specific, and there's a whole amalgamut of different doom metal bands and some of them are pretty different, but then when you call this lump of them funeral doom, gothic doom, epic doom...
that's when each of those sub-subgenres are the exact same shit over and over again.
Although it's been a while since I've read The Improbable History of Death Metal & Grindcore, I'm pretty sure they started around the same time as Napalm Death, the first Grindcore band. Since Napalm was the first Grindcore band it stands to reason that Carcass was Death Metal. btw the author is David Mudrain I believe.
yea know shit sherlock and dude i never said it wasnt but you cant call this Heavy Metal and AC/DC the band its self they consider themselves Rock N Roll and Carcass can only be considered Grindcore which really is what they r i made a mistake but they can be considered Death Metal
Carcass can be consideered lots of genres on their albums which were all unique. There was Grindcore, Death metal, Melodeath, Death n Roll and Grindgore.
You wouldn't call them Heavy Metal but at the end of the day the music they play still branched off from Heavy Metal.
Michael Amott actually started out in a Swedish Death Metal band called Carnage who recorded an album; Dark Recollections (it's some good shit too!). He was offered to join carcass and did, thus moving to the UK.
None the less, Carcass fuckin' rules too! I'm going to see them at the Grand Ballroom in SF!
yes but he got soooooo much better and immensely more popular with arch enemy-that's why most people recognize him from arch enemy, not carcass...(carcass isn't a bad band though-they're quite decent actually!...)
well according to me,their previous works without ammot sucked big time!I hate grind...only after changing to melodeath they became listenable!...that's what I think
whats wrong with having 666 at the end of your name? music is a way of life! tit, just because you out something like 666 in your screen name doesn;t mean shit. grow up, you cannot say that you are dedicated to your music if you believe you have to grow up because of it! metal is for life bitch!
hm...i hear them pretty close, but thats what i think. but the heaviest carcass was by far the pure death metal carcass (necroticism) that album is pure fucking brutality at its best.
i think this sounds pretty good (one of the very very very very..very few Melodic death metal albums that i like) but their deathgrind stuff was more brutal and more aggressive, althoughi i agreee, Necroticism - Descanting the Insalubrious is their most brutal release to date. Angrygrindcore fan, no need to hate these guys, they still rock, theyre not like every generic melodeath band
it's funny that bands these days do a Breakdown in every song and think they started it all in there "Hardcore" grene. but in this song Carcass proves they were doing it 10 full years before it was concidered "cool".
I absolutelty love the main riff to this song! How rockin' is it?!! Awesome British band, managed to do something unique with their sound unlike soooo many others. Cheers for the post! Rock on!
@xorionxxktulux I think that as a metalhead you would know that taste is something personal. Obviously you don't. I like both Carcass and Slipknot. What does that mean about me?
After all these years this album sounds very fresh. The riffs and drums are killers. Crearly a great influence for Arch Enemy, but anyway i love this group. Carcass forever!
