  • definately the same chord progession with out a doubt. It really pisses me off because DMB got robbed and crash is a MUCH better song then come on get higher

  • So, a slight variance of Dave Matthews' "Crash" allows for a call of originality among the many Nathanson fans here. Terrible. The first time I heard this song, I immediately heard "Crash". All you defenders of this god awful song remind me of Vanilla Ice trying to defend "Ice Ice Baby", claiming a slight variance doesn't constitute a rip off of Queens "Under Pressure". Get real people, its a rip-off. Many of this "artists" songs are.

  • this is stupid they are not even close...

  • It's merey a way of playing a bass line and rhythm at the same time...

    losers... talk about something worthwhile

  • simple answer: no.

    extended answer: hell no.

  • Haha, lets set this straight. For one, Matt's intro is only three chords: C#, D, A and Dave's is..well: C#, A, B, E, G#, A, B, E. They're in the same key oooh, lock him up :P

What you guys are hearing is the C# at the beginning. After that they're completely different songs. They're not even played the same way. And if you want to call him a thief for that then that shows you need hearing aids.

  • i love me both some matt & dave

  • Matt is using variations of E, C and G... Three of the most common guitar chords. And like everyone else is sayin, the chord progression is way different. Two totally different songs, this guy is reachin for material...

  • the chord progression is totally different!!!! WOWWWW What a moron!

  • yeah...it actually sounds more like a dave matthews song called "too high" . . .. thats what he stole it from and thats why its got the word high in the title.....wow.

  • dumb. no.

  • i like them both. songs sound like other songs all the time.

  • i've been wondering the same thing since i first heard Matt Nathanson's song. Thanks for bringing it up.

  • He's a freaking emo thief...He needs to be beaten accordingly...little SOB...

    Danger Nation Off!

  • @thedangernation Standard ignorance. The chords aren't even close to the same and although the base notes that are picked out are the same, they aren't played in the same order. The only thing that's close to the same is the rhythm. The similarities are so minor that if you consider this a rip off then you'd be hard pressed to find a song written in the last ten years that isn't a rip off on some level. Also this song is about sex, so not sure why you call him emo. Gratz on being 100% ignorant.

  • @drengler Said the slaphead who waited 8 months to post a response to my comments..C'mon dude, go find something....relevant to do...theres been alot happening in the world since I posted that comment...

    DangerNation (Live in the now!)OFF!

  • @thedangernation Yes, I have been sitting here, waiting to make that comment for eight months, finally the day has come... or I just stumbled upon it randomly and felt the need to comment due its extreme short-sidedness and ignorance. Go listen to some more Nickelback, you ol "slaphead" you.

p.s. Thanks for the tip about all the stuff going on in the world. I'll definitely have to look into some of that.

  • hmmmmmm ya i guess - he was influenced by his probably

  • That's just a bit too similar. M Nathanson is a thief!
