  • Impressive! I can smell the rain and taste the ale so dear!

  • execallent lads keep it up

  • how long have you been the flute?

  • @thedicebreen he's not the flute, I think

  • i occasionally just stick my earphones in and play your videos as a playlist :) i absolutely adore your music

  • where can i buy this flute in internet (because i came from germany)

  • @klodklodklodie I've been to a shop in Hamburg once, that shop was specialized at weird and uncommon instruments. You can buy these flutes over there. There are more shops that have them in Germany, just google around a bit ;)

It's called an Irish Flute, and maybe you'll like the tin and low whistles as well. This one is from Tony Dixon, their website is tonydixonmusic [dot] co [dot] uk ;)

  • You guys are really good.

  • Hello your Irish flute is dixon?

Hola tu Tin Whistler tu Flauta es marca Dixon?

En dos idiomas porque no se cual hables..hm agradeceria mucho tu respuesta.

  • @darkfluter Yes, tony dixon. Look at his profile, it's on there ;)

  • What are the 2 reels called?

  • @TheThing2008 maybe the title of the vid. may give you a little hint ;)

  • Positively amazing. : ) That really was beautiful!! Both the guitar & flute - very well done! -3

  • bravii

  • I would love a plastic flute. The bamboo wood can't handle the strain I place it under when I'm deployed

  • @UllapudlianIAN I believe it is

  • beautiful sound love it...

  • is that a tony dixon flute???

  • LOVIN IT!!!

  • love it, really nice sound u got going there

  • E aí , rapaziada! Vcs estão esculachando! Mandei vir da Inglaterra uma flauta dessas. Legal ver que ela pode tocar mesmo qualquer coisa! Valeu! Very good!

  • very enjoyable ! thnx

  • i don´t think it sounds sad at all. Sounds pretty happy..and the weather is best when rainy;)

  • I love the guitar accompaniment on "The Rainy Day". It really make the tune sound a bit sad -- like you should feel on a rainy day!

    Excellent work!!

  • You'r playing is dear!

  • Thanks for all you do. I am off to the races now with my own whistles. you have been a real insperation to me. Sweet.

    Patrick

  • joan steret*

and joan street play the guitar so nicely!

    this is brotheship:P

  • ok its nice are u a flute or wind instrument expert ok whatever i want to learn bamboo flute how it sounds like?

  • you guys are awsome:)

  • hey great job !

i so wanna learn to play that ind of flute how is it called? its amazing n so are u guys.

pleas let me know the name of that instrument.

    thanks a lot.

  • it's an irish flute... that's its name =)

  • its the same like whistle?

  • i think it share some similarities with low whistle but not high whistles

  • The Irish flute is fingered the same as whistle, and tends to come in the same keys (D being the most common). Main difference is that low whistles and flutes are an octave lower than the soprano whistles, so their lowest note is D below middle C if you know piano.

  • Excellent work.

  • Is this your own creation? Because if it is... u should totally send me a copy. :)

  • It's all traditional music

  • When you play that well, I could care less wether or not you flute is plastic.

  • that guys are amazing!

  • Obvious troll is obvious

  • LOL

  • LOL was directed at "Obvious troll is obvious" not the BP3DP, whose comment I found racist and offensive (and obvious!).

  • Good snarky reply is good

  • pičo běž se zastřelit

  • Why you all hating i was joking

    I like the music.

  • why dont u play the flute more often ? Don't you prefer the sound of the flute better than the sound of a whistle ? Would be nice if you could play this tune ...

  • I like the sound of a good flute but not mine, I'm worse at it and I don't like my plastic flute. Thanks for watching.

  • Plastic or no plastic, sounds pretty good to me!

Is it harder to play a transverse flute if you're used to your hands being in front of you?

  • If your bad ass like him, difficulty doesn't apply. lol

but, really.. if you're good, you'll adapt in no time.

  • Yeah, no kidding.

  • That's awesome you two. Forgive me for being a tad envious I wish I could play guitar that well, or any instrument for that matter.

Anyway yal rocked it! Keep up the good work!

    Peace,

    Joe

  • nice work guys

  • Ah this one is so great, after watching your vids, I instandly grabbed the blockflute of my mother, and started practicing. I fear this is gonna take me a long way... thank you

  • ahhh i can't get over how brilliant you boys are.

this is better than professional stuff.

  • what kind of irish flute is that?

  • It can be called a "traditional" flute, "concert" flute, "simple system" flute, or "irish" flute. Most musicians call them "D" flutes, because they are pitched in the key of D.

    Great song guys!!!

  • Tony Dixon Tuneable Polymer Flute in D

  • I'm depressing, I'm so bad :'(

When you will have your CD, i'll buy it! I promess!

  • what kind of flute is that?

  • Tony Dixon Tuneable Polymer Flute in D:

  • Great sound. I really appreciate your talent. Thanks so much for sharing. I play classical flute and would love to play irish flute.

  • Same, I play classical flute, and I'm dying to get my hands on an Irish flute :]

  • hehe, i love seeing how your guys hair changes in each video ^^ long live long haired males! lol! you're (long haired guy) so talented! playing flute, violin, low something and alot of other instruments! awesome, how many years it took to learn all of those stuffs?

  • fucking awesome , ur vids r going to be ma life time favs..............simply wow

  • Very good! The Ale Is Dear is indeed a very hard tune to play, Keep posting excellent work, Tony

  • The Ale is Dear is harder to play than I thought, although as a tune it's simpler than the first one. I noticed that you prefer to play the flute instead of the tin whistle when a tune contains many C#-s or C naturals. (Or is it just a coincidece?)

May I ask where did you learn them?

  • wow. nice...i really liked the change of pace.

  • The second tune is great :) Better than the first to my point of view.

What kind of flute are you using ? I wanna buy a Dixon "Duo head". Do you know it ?

  • really nice! i'm so impressed by your evolution in time (especially the guitar sound). congrats, guys!

  • the guitar guy is really good and very cute!

  • damn i love irish music, just strange how the song is irish and it's named after alcohol. im just sayin

  • You guys are very talented! You music is awesome. I am also trying to learn the Tin Whistle...LOL! :)

  • Amazing as usual. I NEED to ask though: I know you get your music from the session, but it lists so many versions of 'the Rainy Day' and I really want to play it the way you play it. Can you point me to where you got that one from and (if necessary and possible) where you've tweaked it yourselves?

  • HEY THE GUITAR GUY IS PRETTY HOT!

  • Thaaaanks! xD

  • and who are you talking too?

  • I'm JoanSteret, the TinWhistler's brother

  • Hey tinwhistler,do you think could learn the morning nightcap as Kevin Crawford played it?That be great...-SR-

  • Man, I wish I could get my flute playing to sound like that... I've had the thing for almost a year and I'm not anywhere near your level... Great playing as always guys, keep the vids coming!

  • I agree with winter892006.

You come to Australia and play at one of our folk festivals. I'd be the first one there. You guys are awesome!

Nice tune! This time I think your brother is actually playing a bit too QUIET. Good luck.

  • Sois fenomenales. Gracias por seguir subiendo videos con música tan buena. En serio, deberíais pensar en formar un grupo en plan formal y buscar alguien que toque percusiones o violin en plan folk.

  • hahaha, the inevitable crotch shot to finish, it really shows you how amazing these guys are, they don't even have someone to start and stop recording, they just pure talent and no editing.

  • i love it

  • as always good, regards ;)

  • mycket bra (very good) just keeping my meager command of Swedish going :)

I used to have a recorder a long while ago, soprano I think it was - very small in size.

  • Excellent! I don't know these tunes but agree with the sentiment that the ale is dear! Great title.

  • simplemente me encanta. :)

  • I love the Ale is Dear :) nice one guys.

  • Good

  • Awesome, make more and I'll keep watching!

  • wowzers!

    that's a sweet song.

    you guys have excellent talent!

    keep it going.

    a definate fave.

  • this is gorgeous. seriously.

and i must say it again: you and your brother are really good-looking boys.

    keep it up!

  • Hi meninos!

    You're very welcome always!

Thanks so much for your sound!

  • I've come to enjoy you two. You know, though, if you would buy or fashion a guitar sound-hole cover to mute the volume, you two could perhaps play in the same room. Younger bro' is half the act, let him sit with you nearer the camera.

  • Or is there a personal hygene issue? (jus' teasing)

  • you might be right! Looks like they're still in their PJ's, so maybe no morning shower yet ? HA HA I bet their timing would be a bit tighter too, if they sat closer, good idea!

  • nice one ;D

  • beautiful!
