This city that Sonic is in called "Shamar" reminds me of Agrabah from Aladdin. I keep thinking that Jafar & Dr. Eggman will join forces to rule the world. Amy & Jasmine are counting on Sonic & Aladdin. Sonic & Aladdin will have to save the world from destruction. LOL Just kidding. But in real life is their a city like this in the Middle East?
sonic games should only be about getting through the game as fast as possible. if generations give you the right to play through all levels as super sonic.......well be warned the game will be even shorter......but fairly better.lol
@phineas9000 Finally someone who praises this game for what it is. It's more than just running. Sonic was always more than just running until Colors. Heroes, Black Knight, Shadow, even the Adventure games had more than just speed. That's why Colors and Generations are disappointing. Sonic should be more than speed running. Other forms of gameplay and additions to gameplay such as the sword are a big part of what made Sonic so epic.
@phineas9000 Well, I do kind of like Generations. The boss fights look epic from what we know and they're apparently bringing back the Wisps for the Colors level, so they may bring back the Werehog for the Egg Dragoon too. The Classic gameplay adds a little variety to the mix and the levels look awe-inspiring. So it looks good to me. Not great, epic or fantastic, but pretty good.
@vgman94 Did you actually play Colors? The powerups slowed him down. How can you say it was all running when you have the block powerup that stops you from going super fast?
Avocado Werehog did NOT suck. A large amount of combos and fun platforming, and even some puzzle elements added variety. It was practically 2 games in 1. Colors had power-ups and some puzzel elements, but aside from that, it was mostly just running. How many times did people really even use the Wisps after getting 100% aside from mandatory parts? Super Sonic in stages was dumbed down to being slightly faster and it had a very short, repetitive theme song to accompany it. It could've been better.
@firepaw No. The Night stages are where you play as the Werehog, a form when you can unlock up to 30 moves and have good platforming in the levels. You also have epic bosses, around 30 NPC missions, over 200 collectibles (I'm not kidding) in the HUB worlds and levels and collectibles tha allow you to view cutscenes and listen to in-game music (similar to MGS4's iPod, except in 2 areas instead of on the move). The game is partly running, but the great thing is that it's MUCH more than just that.
Dude sonic unleashed shows the true speed of sonic, WHOEVER MADE THE IDEA OF MAKING A SHOW AND A GAME OF A BLUE HEDGEHOG THAT CAN TALK AND STAND ON TWO LEGS WITH SHOES AND GLOVES AND HAVE SUPER SONIC SPEED THAT CAN RUN ABOUT 600-800 MPH... I LOVE YOU! THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE! =D
This game is soooo fast and intense. It takes much practice with these types of levels to get the medals and to end with a good score. I love the music, it's the best it's ever been than past sonic games! This is REALLY good gameplay. You have my respects and admiration for doing this so well!

Love the day time levels!!! I know they're not gonna include ALL the daytime levels in Sonic Generations... But they should at least make them DLC... like a map pack. :3

Yes, day missions are more entertaining than night missions, however if you really are a gamer since 1994 you should know games have evolved too much, so you can difference between carbon and diamonds, this game could be better, really much better. When I was playing this I never see any effort by Sega with this, graphics looks like a N64 game, and levels, pfff, they are visually poor and deficient as hanna montana the game and don't forget lags.
Go and get a PS3 or XBOX 360, there is Sonic Generations coming up....with Classic Sonic, and Modern Sonic! Modern Sonic has the same Gameplay like in Unleashed and Colours (except without those nice wisps) Best thing: No Werehog / Sword / etc. etc. Just two SONICS =D
Unleashed is a huge disappointment. And the night stages can be very frustrating, to say the least. Just wait for Generations or go buy Sonic Colors for the Wii. Sonic Colors is awesome

@coolvidzman Because it'd get boring? This is fun for like, 3-4 hours, but after a while, it gets nerve wrecking (because of the speed) and repetitive. The Werehog takes that out of the way and gives you an enjoyable, somewhat relaxing combat platformer in it's place for a little while. Luckily, both are split 50/50.
@vgman94 Sonic The Hedgehog is all about and precise platforming neck breaking speed. Speed and Speed only. That is what distinguishes Soinc from Mario and all other platforming franchises. Since the conception of the franchise, Sonic's main gameplay concept was the emphasis on speed. The Werehog levels removed everything of what Sonic is truly about, resulting in poor gameplay disrespecting Sonics roots and fanbase. I just want to see Sonic done proper justice. Sonic Colors for Wii looks great.

@coolvidzman for me, the werehog levels were a lot of fun, but after you played the high speed day level you think, oh here comes the slow cobat again, because the daytime stages rock, but then there are the werehog levels waiting for you, its not that the werehog is boring, is just that its not apropiate (sorry for any spelling mistakes) in a sonic game

Wait a minute. When you buy a sequel or new installment in an old series, you want to see what's new, not what's repeated. And the new Crash & Spyro games are amazing. That doesn't make them suck and for Sonic, you see the fastes thing alive in the Day, but having that ONLY is shallow and repetitive. We played them for fun as kids. @MotweraCity And have gotten better. No simplistic jumping with OHKO moves anymore. Now you have combat, platforming and cool powers. Not to mention being able to control enemies larger than yourself and use their powers, which are pretty unique and cool. Spyro now has a deep story, collectibles that are useful and more endearing characters. Also, I saw an old comment of your's recently. Why were you excited for Mind Over Mutant and now hate it? Why the change? It's a good game..
@Cherucha I'm glad you enjoyed them, but it just ruined it for me. I may be a little biased and skeptical because I have been a fan of Sonic games since the beginning. The action stages were fast and I loved them, but when it slowed down or you had to talk to people or become the werehog, I lost interest. Oh well. I am looking forward to Sonic Colors.
How different is the PS3 and WII versions of this game? I heard a rumor that the level designs are totally different, like these are almost 2 seperate games?

Okay, how many day levels are in that game, because I'm seriously considering buying an Xbox just to play this game...
I had Sonic Unleashed for PS2 but it was all about the dumb not-fast sonic and I only played it for the fast levels...

Go and get a PS3 or XBOX 360, there is Sonic Generations coming up....with Classic Sonic, and Modern Sonic! Modern Sonic has the same Gameplay like in Unleashed and Colours (except without those nice wisps) Best thing: No Werehog / Sword / etc. etc. Just two SONICS =D

It's unfortunate how short the daytime levels are. The werehog levels are 3 times longer, and they ruin an otherwise spotless game. I can't wait to get Sonic Colors.

@calderposse Hi i'm that guy who doesn't own this game yet (too many other good games in the market) I occasionally look at some of these videos regardless of whether they use all the secret roots or get an S rank. i don't really care if the guy loses his rings. it's still entertaining for me.

@coolvidzman Because it'd get boring? This is fun for like, 3-4 hours, but after a while, it gets nerve wrecking (because of the speed) and repetitive. The Werehog takes that out of the way and gives you an enjoyable, somewhat relaxing combat platformer in it's place for a little while. Luckily, both are split 50/50.

@vgman94 Sonic The Hedgehog is all about and precise platforming neck breaking speed. Speed and Speed only. That is what distinguishes Soinc from Mario and all other platforming franchises. Since the conception of the franchise, Sonic's main gameplay concept was the emphasis on speed. The Werehog levels removed everything of what Sonic is truly about, resulting in poor gameplay disrespecting Sonics roots and fanbase. I just want to see Sonic done proper justice. Sonic Colors for Wii looks great.

The Werehog added something new to not make the game repetitive. Why is it that Sonic has to be like Fagio? Mario repeats the SAME shit for 30 years & you retards love it despite the fact it's boring as freaking hell. This type of contentment with repetition shows something seriously wrong with our society.

The opinions of most gamers, and many gaming journalists in the industry clearly indicate that the Werehog portions of the game were simply not as entertaining as the Daytime levels. You really have no basis for judgement on the Werehog levels other than you OWN opinion. I am not only referring to my opinion, but the majority of gaming professionals out there. I really want to back Unleashed too, but 50 million frenchmen cant be wrong.

The opinions on how you may enjoy a game differs, but the facts are SEGA put a lot of hard work into their gimmicks and are insulted every time for the gameplay not being close enough to the original gameplay of much older titles. That is a baseless way to judge how good a game is. And certainly unprofessional.

@coolvidzman for me, the werehog levels were a lot of fun, but after you played the high speed day level you think, oh here comes the slow cobat again, because the daytime stages rock, but then there are the werehog levels waiting for you, its not that the werehog is boring, is just that its not apropiate (sorry for any spelling mistakes) in a sonic game

I guess it wouldnt have been that bad but I had bought the latest Spyro and Crash games with this so it really was disappointing to see that same stuff in them all.. Wait a minute. When you buy a sequel or new installment in an old series, you want to see what's new, not what's repeated. And the new Crash & Spyro games are amazing. Great combat for both, secrets for both. Good comedy in Crash, a great and deep story in Spyro. They're just modern now. That doesn't make them suck and for Sonic, you see the fastes thing alive in the Day, but having that ONLY is shallow and repetitive. We played them for fun as kids. Not because of any reason in particular.

@MotweraCity And have gotten better. No simplistic jumping with OHKO moves anymore. Now you have combat, platforming and cool powers. Not to mention being able to control enemies larger than yourself and use their powers, which are pretty unique and cool. Spyro now has a deep story, collectibles that are useful and more endearing characters. Also, I saw an old comment of your's recently. Why were you excited for Mind Over Mutant and now hate it? Why the change? It's a good game..

@Cherucha I'm glad you enjoyed them, but it just ruined it for me. I may be a little biased and skeptical because I have been a fan of Sonic games since the beginning. The action stages were fast and I loved them, but when it slowed down or you had to talk to people or become the werehog, I lost interest. Oh well. I am looking forward to Sonic Colors.
