The only real Macedonia is the "part" liberated by Greece in 1912. The parts taken by the Serbs and Bulgars don't correspond to the original kingdom of ancient Macedon. If you want to use the names from the old Yugoslavia, pay attention that Slovenia is Dravska banovina, Montenegro is Zetska banovina etc. At those times, the provinces were named by the biggest rivers, it has nothing to do with nationality. The only real Macedonia is the "part" liberated by Greece in 1912. The parts taken by the Serbs and Bulgars don't correspond to the original kingdom of ancient Macedon. But that's just it. Even if your ancestors did fight against Ottoman Turks and Greeks, it doesn't mean they did so as "Macedonians". As Borza correctly points out, there was no such thing as a "Macedonian" ethnicity prior to the twentieth century. He may not think that is a good enough reason to reject the use of the name for the Slavs, but I do. Because, unliked him, I am a Macedonian.

as for the right wing goverment ,we had a civil war in greece . the same people killed any communist village since it was a war of communists versus the liberals , just that in skopje anyone who died during that times is considered a victim of a so called genocide. communists died in every village all over greece not only in the macedonian part of greece. you go to a village ,pay 3 poor farmers and they say whatever you like. check the records the documents the films the history books

This is not only ridiculously misleading, it is racist too. First you describe the Greek refugees from Asia Minor as "Orthodox Turks", and then you have to gall to demand the "right to self-identification". Please. Restricting the use of the name "Macedonian" to the tiny minority of Slavophones who do not identify as Greeks is offensive to the millions of Macedonians who do.
