  • Good ol' times when Brian Dobson actually lifted shit and looked buff, instead of hanging his fat ass round the gym yelling at Ronnie and Branch like "YEAH BABY, CMON"

  • which one's ronnie

  • mr.texas 1990

  • and this was the last time when Brian could say "im as muscular as Ronnie"

  • This video proofs that less chemistry makes you look better and feel better. Nowadays bodybuilders are just walking pharma cabinets.

  • one of them is gonna be Mr.O one day..guest who..:)

  • What is this guy making them do?? Standing calf raise??? What the hell... Poor Ronnie.. Had to learn from someone I guess.. Brian Dobbs w/ his pounds of dog food in his gym.. Hahahahaha..

  • Here he had a great body, well proportioned. Instead today he has not.

  • The beginning of the greatest back of all history

  • @MFdoomJR Dorian Yates back was bigger

  • @knockoutgymbradford yeah he started the steroids earlier lol

  • I love that little turn Coleman does during his poses.

  • @Diamhea What do you think of Coleman's physique today?

  • @FitnessByMatt Disgusting. '98-'99 was amazing though. His peak IMO.

  • good old days when there was no such thing as HGH

  • @TheRajangrewal HGH was around since the late late 70's

  • black power:)

  • lol white guy wears dark underwear, black guy wears white :P

(no racism intended, it just looks cool in the balance)

  • Genetics are a very important part of being an athlete. They allow you to be big strong fast etc. But we all know the majority of Bodybuilders even with good genetics take roids to become bigger and look better alot faster. But bodybuilding is dumb, a sport that you workout soo hard for only to show off by flexing? Thats the sport, FLEXING for crowds lol. I mean come on. Be a powerlifter compete or a worlds strongest man. The True strength is Strongman not this shit.

  • wow, advancements in video camera quality and steroids have come a long way since then...

  • looks like 1970

  • not fair the background colour is whit as the other guy

  • how much did ronnie weight in this vid & was this before steriods??

  • whos the cracker

  • WTF ? Small Roonie ? ;d

  • his thong at the old time was acceptable ...

  • Comment removed

  • but this ultimately proves, that ronnies genetics isnt perfect as well, he just trained very hard to achieve his goal, amaising by what extend he grew is calves!!

  • This makes me feel a lot better about my calves.

  • He looks better with the steroids

  • pinche Ronny coleman sta bien bueno me lo voy a culear

  • pinche Ronny coleman sta bien bueno me lo voy a culear

  • Yeah BuDdy!!! Ronnie was "Light weight".

  • @ really big mike, agreed bodybuilding is not all about steroids, genetics are a huge part along with proper nutrition, good training and how you live your life outside the gym, my point is if you look at the evolution of big Ronnie physique and this happens with most top pro's they are under such pressure from the magazines, sponsors and fans to look bigger every year that they end up doing more and more gear, especially GH and they end up with poor aesthetics and conditioning ie Jay Cutler

  • @bighutch73 I agree sadly I think ronnie looks his best about 4-5 years after these pics. Toward the middle and end of his carreer (although he was still winning), his gut was just terrible. A by-product from the tremendous strength gains he made from lifting and supplementation ( steroids, GH, insulin) as heavy squating and deadlift will increase your waste line.

  • its OK to be uneducated in some area.. nobody knows it all but at least dont make fools of yourselves people.. freakin' LOL at you for thinking Ronnie was drug free with this level of muscularity

  • @googleTHT

Well think what you want but it is totally possible...You can see some natural guys with muscularity almost just like him in this young stage with a gifted mesomorphc body...Though most of them fail to build a balanced body...In my oppinion it is mostly not the size that separates pro bodybuilders from the rest of us ,but the ability to maintain balance allaround on your muscles...

  • O so that's how Ronnie and Brian's freindship started, in the early days.

  • Rear calve raise....hahahahahaha!!! classic. glad they don't do that anymore. Great clip!!

  • Roonie vs Arnold ? :D LOL :D

  • @Waldozord Arnold was never natural though...Ronnie was drugfree here. He was actually one of the best naturals back then and so was Momo before they got into drugs.

  • Don't steroids, growth and slim make a huge difference

  • his ankles look as though they about to snap in first clip

  • No wonder Ronnie keeps winning...He looks freeking GREAT!

  • a bit homo....the guy talking back the camera seems to enjoy it..

  • This was the year I was born.

  • dude sounds like a creep

  • mais ai gente sera qui ele era natural ai ??

  • mais ai gente sera qui ele era natural ai ??

  • For all the idiots taht think bodybuilders just take steroids and get big this should be a mandatory video for them to watch. At this point Ronnie had only been training for bodybuilding for about a year. Conversly Brian had been training for bodybuiling and powerlifting for probably close to 10 years. Ronnie had arms and lats for days before he ever even trained or dieted correctly. Geneitcs are the most important aspect of this sport, more so than any other sport.

  • @reallybigmike Your wrong, in the video of Ronnie saying how he got into body building he stated that he got offered a free membership to compete with him in the show, and quote "I had been doing for fun for 15-16 years at that point". He had been lifting for longer than Brian

  • @ThGodLike No, He had been lifting weights for football, and to stay in shape to be a police officer, Whcih is completely differnt type of training than for bodybuilding, whcih focuses much more on volume training and isolation exercises. No to mention the dieting/supplementing that is required.

Ronnie has even said that at this point he dind't know that protein build muscle and routinly ate Mcdonlads. And he and not been lifting longer than Brian at this point.

  • @reallybigmike Completely agree but can you confirm that Ronnie had only been training for about a year? Yes he only trained for bodybuilding for a year but he's been training as a natty for football since he was like 15 or so...guy had atleast 5 or 6 years of training under his belt. Of course he's just like other teens that didn't know much but trained nonetheless. So you gotta give that alot of credit too, if you see his football pics you'd see he's ripped so idk about the whole year thing.

  • @reallybigmike who trains for 10 years and has that kinda legs... mines are bigger and all i dois running

  • @itssimpleiwinyoulose Genetics? and they are probably not bigger, but even if they were, I have two co-workers who don't touch weight and they have much larger thighs and cankles then i do (although not as muscular). And running does build muscle strength in legs, maybe not size but like I said it could be your genetic which was the point of my origianl comment.

  • @reallybigmike Wrong, good chemist is the number one thing in today's sports. And what is geneitics?

  • Wrong, good chemist is the number one thing in today's sports. And what is geneitics?

  • @reallybigmike Wrong, good chemist is the number one thing in today's sports. And what is geneitics?

  • @reallybigmike Why do you believe Ronnie was NOT on certain chemical enhancements in this video?

  • @vargyna Because at this point in his life he had just began working as a police officer, and was subject to random drug testing, also he himself says that he was only working out to stay in shape as a police officer, Brain Dobbs acctually gave him a free membershi to metroflex so if ronnie agreed to compete, Ronnie also says that shortyly before this video he was eating mcdonalds 2-3times a week and didn't understand the most academic princlples of diet(proteins, carbs, etc,,)

  • @reallybigmike Your right about genetics playing an important role in this sport but your wrong about ronnie only training for a year before this. Look it up but he said in a interview that he was training for 15 years before he joined metroflex. He played college football so must of done bodybuilding training to stay big

  • @johnafer I refernced this in my 1st comment, however maybe ppl don't understand what I mean, I said "at this point ronnie had only been training for bbding for about a year" which is true. HIs football training certanly built up strength/dedication foundation but cleans/deadlifts/squats/grip training don't build a symetrical physique with 20'' arms. There are many pro-football players who work out and even have nice physiques but thier not bodbuilder quality( Ray lewis,Terrel Owens, ect, ect)

  • @johnafer Understand what I mean by "training for bodybuilding" which encompasses diet, nutiron, legal/illegal supplementation, volume training(training for the pump/frequency of bodyparts being trained) and not just lifting weights, ronnie has even said and I quote "my arms just grew like wild" almost nobody playing proball has 20'' lean and developed arms like ronnie cause curls and skull crushers are not a neccassry movement for that sport.

  • @reallybigmike Steroids will make you get bigger much faster no matter genetics.

  • @xNIPPOx Yes, but they can't make you into a pro bodybuilder or get you u to hit a homerun in the majors, if you don't already have the genetic predisposition to do so. They can move you to the next level but that's it, thier not going to make a mountain out of a mole hill. So if your ok, they'll make you good, or if your good they'll make you great, and if your great they'll make you the best, but they cant take you from ok, or good to the best.

  • @reallybigmike that is complete bullshit!! ronnie is on gear there...it might not be as high dosage as what his taking now ..but i guarantee you he was hitting small doses back then ..i can tell so easily i trained natural and on gear ! i can tell his hit a few mls of test here

  • @asyrianrambo Well, I guess that makes you an expert than. I'm sure that while you were on the gear you were just a few reps away from being on the cover of Muscle & Fiction.

  • @reallybigmike Genetics my ass, Ronnie would never have gotten that big if he hadn't juiced and it's not like he's that much better than the other juicer anyway. And if you were such a fitness genius you'd know that power lifting isn't the same thing as bodybuilding. Most people can't get as big as Ronnie because they can't afford to by the gear nor do they have the time to spend most of the week in the gym.

  • @RomanSage So a Police Officer making 20k a year in the late 80's early 90s had the money for gear? Most people cant get ronnnies size be cause it's not within thier genitc potential to do so, And I'm enough of a "fitness genius" to know that YOU should focus your energy on just starting to weight lift, rather than trying to figure out the difference between bodybuilding and powerlifting. For any other questions you have, feel free to read my other comments, there endeth the lesson.

  • @reallybigmike The genetics argument is nothing more than a delusion to maintain the idea that drugs aren't really responsible for the look of modern bodybuilders. Ronnie used his competition winnings to buy more and more drugs which is why he's bigger today, as a multimillionaire, then he was in this video as a police man.

  • @RomanSage That's a good point - Ronnie's money definitely played a role in his size, as did Jay Cutler's. Other bodybuilders can't afford what they do and a lot of them have to work jobs, although Ronnie was a cop for a long time including years he was winning the Olympia so that is impressive. Also, Ronnie does have some pretty amazing genetics despite whatever he consumed to get that way, as his size was literally mind boggling.

  • @FitnessByMatt Genetics certainly plays a significant role in bodybuilding. My point is that guys like Coleman would not be as big as they are without taking drugs. The fact that they freely admit to using drugs has not deterred people from insisting that their massive physiques are mostly the result of genetics. The classic argument being "Well I took steroids and didn't get as big as Coleman therefore it must be his genetics." Never mind all the other factors the like mass stacking etc.

  • @RomanSage You're the biggest retard ever. Why hate just because you're jealous...

  • @MrAssassinful Don't cry to me. I ain't your momma.

  • @RomanSage I fucked your momma though.

  • @MrAssassinful Is that supposed to impress me? I'd be impressed if you'd get over what ever it is I posted that pissed you off. You follow me around YouTube like a hurt little dog posting angry replies to every comment I leave under these bodybuilding videos thinking that you're gonna make me feel as pathetic as you are. Ha!

  • @RomanSage What? Do we know each other or something? I'm just replying to fools like you who actually believe steroids are more than 5% of the whole game. Without the drugs it would still be the same guys who are the best, but only smaller. I personally like bigger.

  • @RomanSage What? Do we know each other or something? I'm just replying to fools like you who actually believe steroids are more than 5% of the whole game. Without the drugs it would still be the same guys who are the best, but only smaller. I personally think the bigger the better ! Plus steroids actually make it 10 times more competitive but let's not go into that, it requires bodybuilding experience.

  • @RomanSage Oopsy, my bad for the spam. Tried to modify my comment but I posted it by accident.

  • @RomanSage - Like every ather competitor, coleman use supplements and drugs, but the fact is that is the only one who reach year after year that level of mass. His calves lokks very small on that video, in his last olympia they reached near 23 inches. And waht about the legs : 38 inches!!!! Do you know one other bodybuilder who is so complete with no weak point. Platz I guess had 31 inches maximum for his legs! Ronnie is the best bodybuilder of all time..

  • @RomanSage if that would be true then there would be a whole lot more pros.

  • @RomanSage But he had the best response to drugs you could imagine + amazing muscle shape + as you can see in this video very good bone structure

He was THE freak, 1999 / 2000 Ronnie Coleman wont be seen on stage again, nothing was and will be able to beat it ever again

Of course he abused the shit out of gh, slin, tren, winstrol, masteron, test, dbol, diuretics ect. (lol)

But the others did too but NOONE reached his look

  • @RomanSage hmm well dorian was almost ronnie's size in the early 90s, and by most accounts he was just an average joe from england with a lot of passion for the sport, hardly rolling in it. I still think bodybuilders are bigger through the ages because drug knowledge increases, thus they can safely push their bodies further.

  • @martinmerrywinkle Yeah, one guy I know lives off his girlfriend and his mother, avoids taxes, and buys drugs with the money he makes off forty hours a week. It's possible to afford the drugs and not be a millionaire, as long as you have plenty of people to mooch off of. Dorian's story is much the same as Ronnie's however. The more championships he won the more money he made and the bigger he got.

  • @RomanSage yeah but Arnie and co from the 70s hollywood films etc could afford all the drugs they wanted but weren't Dorian/Coleman sized. I still think it's the improved knowledge, safely allowing for more intense roid use, probably round the clock in Ronnie's case. Advisors too. Either that or it's the HGH that started the size thing. No idea when HGH started being used. There was an 80's bodybuilder, Victor Richards who was like 300lb on stage, looks Ronnie-like. Wonder what he was taking

  • @RomanSage it has nothing to do with money. he was bigger in 2005 than he was in 1997 simply because he had 8 years more training.

  • @reallybigmike I agree its hard work, but who tells you he was not on roids since he was fifteen?

  • @jerryx2000 No one, and in the 80's and even 1990 steroids were legal. But a guy who admitinly didn't know that protein build muscle, was on a cops salary(and random drug test) ate a mcdonalds 2-3 times a week, probably would't of had the disipline to use steroids correctly at that time, but as you say no one has told me he wasn't using them at 15y/o.....on a side comment i've hade about 15 people comment on my comment and I always get caught defending ronnie, I wasn't even a fan of his.

  • @reallybigmike are you in love with him?

  • @jerryx2000 Good come back? next time you find your internet courage look in the mirror and think real hard. Til' then, keep working on your golf game and waiting for GnR to get back together.

  • @reallybigmike so you are in love. Congrats. All my blessing are for you.

  • @reallybigmike muscles are highly depended on bone structure...coleman is not tall (around 1.78 if i'm right) and his colar bones are narrow if u notice...that means his natural bodytype was ecto...but he's 150kg all muscles!!!u think there are any genetics that can achieve that?!in this vid he was already using obviously...AND btw...bb trainning is hard but nothing compared to pro athletes training...pro athletes train 3-4 times a day...and arent that strong/big...so steroids is the answer...

  • @kypselialani14 Athletes take steroids. If you think they don't your nieve. They just do a different type of training. And if you knew anything about bodybuilding you'd also know that bodybuilders train a fuckin crazy amount also. And its all (or almost all) Weight training, which is very draining. If you count posing practice (which is also surprisingly intense) then they train probably as much as other pro athletes. Other sports also train in their chosen field aswell as fitness training. Then

  • @kypselialani14 You can add that when a bodybuilder eats it isn't plesent. Ever. When they are mass gaining they have to stuff themselves to the point of being sick. When they are cutting up they have to starve themselves. They never get to enjoy life normally, so you can say that a body like this is the work of 3 things. Genetics, Steroids, and complete, total, nonstop dedication.

  • @reallybigmike where did you get THAT information from oO

    1 year...

  • Ronnie FTW! Yeah buddy!!!!

  • hhmmm, wonder why the calf raise isnt a mandatory anymore

  • Haha and he said hes natural at this time in md

  • lol i love ronnies tricep pose

  • wtf with this calf pose ??

  • Wow!

Ronnie has great arms and back since the beginning... but what improvements he made through the years!

    Brian looks amazing too!

    Thanks for this.

  • ha check brian out too

  • @steflotti105 Brian Dobson had some good size as well.

  • which year?

  • @tigereyes78sa This Ronnie Coleman clip is from 1990.

  • @FitnessByMatt So my point being, that why would Brian give him a free membersship if he didn't see this incredible diamond in the ruff, if he was already juiced out of his mind, he wouldn't have made the incredible gains he made with diet, and drugs, and even legal supps. However as u say, I only "believe" this as i, nor you have any tangible proof to say otherwise. Simply put is we have all seen guys in the gym who look great because of thier genetics, not thier training or drugs, or diet.

  • i thik this with brian dobbson

the owner of metroflex gym in which ronnie training
