id not grab those pipes even when cold. if theyre chrome plated, they will stain with hand prints when they heat up. learned the hard way with my vehicles, and bikes

Hey, how much did it cost to build the car? I'am curious, as i will build me one when i have the ability to build one, it's gonna be a pretty close Cobra replica that is mostly close in parts and such to the originals were build, what colour, engine e.t.c i will choose is not decided yet, but i will take an aluminum body for the cause of authenthic, the choice of engines imo, will be either 427 Sideoiler or 427 SOHC, depending on. I might be 20, but i will build me one when i can.

I had a mustang with a modified 351W too. I really miss that thing. Engine described is similar to what I had. Lots of power. My ultimate dream is to get one of these ac's.

they are out there, and pretty inexpensive. i will look for another once i sell the vette. i will look for another 351W only!. best power to weight to drivability out there. the 427 guys may disagree, but the 427 is so violent in this car...351 is perfect....very streetable, but will still run a 3.2 sec 0-60. 427 can't do that !....how much faster do you need to be than 3.2?

how expensive is it to own one?

very cheap to own. low to no upkeep. i ran 1/2 111 racing fuel and 1/2 93 pump gas. did that just for fun. would run fine on pump gas. so...insurance is cheap if you get the right carrier. no mechanical upkeep. just keep it clean. check the fluids. good gas. have fun.

what all did you have done to the engine?

351 windsor. .030 bore. Edelbrock intake and Holley 670. pretty much off the shelf engine from Edelbrock. 425 hp, 400 + ft lbs torque. go to edelbrock website and look at their crate motors. there is one or two just like mine. great choice for these cars, perfect power and rev ability and torque. but not so much that it will not hook up to street. you can spin it off launch as far as you want or hook it up and hold on....good luck ..jim

Yeah I know exactly what engine ur talkin about. I run my dads aumototive business and have for around 8 years. I put a zz383 engine from chevy in a 55 chevy with 425 hp. It runs really well. It doesn't idle quite that rough but pretty close, course it has a few more cubic inches and a hydralic roller camshaft rather than a flat tappet, or it'd be extremly rough. Does that engine have a roller or flat tappet? It has a little more camshaft than the 383, course im a ford man myself.
