  • I saw Bob Scobey and Clancy Hayes sometime around 1959 in Chicago. What a great band. The band played almost straight through with very few breaks. It was a wonderful night. Thanks for posting this.

  • Did anyone know bob scobey personily? My great grandma said she was his cousin

  • i remember when bob scoby played at our local college. did toni lee scott play with scobey/

also did clancey hayes play with bob scobey?

toni had a peg leg. wont forget clancey either

  • Nice comments! Bob Scobey always had a terrific band. The one he was leading at the time of his death was probably his best ever. The only time they came to the UK was to play inbetween halves of the Harlem Globe Trotters!

  • Nice to know there's some relatives out there!!! Glad I finally found some Scobey on youtube....I've been looking for it on and off and nothing popped up until tonight.......Any footage of the Late and Great Clancy Hayes around??

    Keep Swingin' Gates........

  • I'm a huge Scobey fan! My Grandfather was Jack Buck. My Father and I are still playing dixieland today. My Dad still plays the horn that Scobey gave him! Take care, Jammin Joe Buck

  • Wow! Where else but on YouTube could one find classics such as this? I discovered Bob Scobey via my Chicago DJ Dad's record collection back around 1959. My favorite tune is his rendition of "The Pearls". :-)

    Mike Rapchak Jr.

  • did toni lee scott play with bob scobey also toni lee scott.? i remeber when they played at our local college. is toni lee still alive/? i used to have email contact with toni lee scott

  • Scobey was an amazing musician and a great bandleader. His entire band was a collection of outstanding musicians. His drummer was a musician who along with Louis Belson (drummer) Came up through Gene Krupa. He worked with Ellington and all the greats. My sons father in law is a drummer. He had Dave play at his wedding. What a great time. He passed away just a few months ago. A real loss. He was though the kind of musician Scoby liked to work with, Great team, great band.

  • Kyle Scobey is my father

  • Your grandfather was an extraordinary musician and take from us far too young. When he and Clancy Hayes got together, there were none better.

  • Thats my late grandfather... Bob Scobey on trumpet!

  • Who was your father/mother. I know Bob Scobey had a couple of children. Which one is your parent?

    Scott Henderson

  • That's my late uncle... Bill Napier on the clarinet!
