I was there at Indy in 1977. I remember it like it happened yesterday. The car stayed up on its nose forever. I still have a small piece of the fiberglass body, that you see flying off behind the car at the 8 second mark

I remember this crash from 1977. I was 5 years old. Dale's only injury was a broken arm, but he retired afterwards.
