Well, the V10 engine in the S8 is the same one that was used in the Gallardo, but it's only been stroked and bored to be more suitable for a large car like that.

You know what I really hate? It's when people say of their Audi "yeah, it's got a de-tuned Lambo engine in it". No, it's got a less-tuned Audi engine in it. Get it right, people. As though the chiefs at Audi are going to spontaneously produce an amazing engine that needs de-tuning in order to sufficiently tame it to go in to a saloon car? I don't think so. It's the same engine, granted. Is it de-tuned? No. It's less tuned. You don't start with a great engine and then work backwards.

i think its the same short block with dif intake or valves or somein but i know it has the same block as in the gallardo they need to stop messing with that tdi 12 in the r8 and just go with this v10 it str8 moves

This S8(2006) have a V10 with 5204 cm3,only from 2008 gallardo have a V10 5204 cm3

So this 5.2 V10 is originally from Audi ;)
