I'm sick of people saying that labels are bad things. They help to distinguish one form of music from another, and do a fairly good job at it. There's far too many different forms of music to forego using labels altogether.

People simply need to stop portraying labels in a misguided or derogatory way. Every genre has it's merits, and most poor conceptions of labels are simply due to ignorance or are an attempt at offending an entire group of people with one sweeping remark.

This is not screamo. Screamo is Emo with screaming, hence the name. There is nothing Emo about ABRB. They are Deathcore mixed with Metalcore. Deathcore because of the vocals - the vocals are the most Deathcore part of this band. Also Deathcore because they use the harmonic minor scale, what I like to call Castlevania music. And they have a touch of Metalcore because of some of the riffs and stuff. They are like Deathcore with a metalcore edge to the music.

Most average bands (emphasis on average) use multiples of 4. Though to be original you should mix it up. My band is starting to perposely write odd time to try and be different. Also there is no rule to say that you can't have an odd number of lines due to lyrics. whatever sounds good I say go with it.
