I remember Ash Wednesday back in 1983, you could see the fires in the Dandenongs from our back yard, and our pool was full of ash and burnt leaves.

It wasn't until later in the evening that I heard that scores were dead. I will forever remember that day... totally surreal - didn't really believe the news reports or the death toll 'til the next day.

Hi all, I live in one of the fire infected areas, and I can tell you all, this is unbelievable! My family and I have already been evacuated on a number of occasions, luckily our house remains untouched. I'm looking outside my window as I type this and it is still quite 'smokey' everywhere with many fire trucks and police cars passing.

The fires were NOT a natural disaster.
They were deliberately lit and charges and inquiries and investigations are currently under way.

Wrong, not all of them were deliberately lit. There were about 50 fires that day, most of them were caused by lightning.

Most of them are missing and some are dead, who ever started these fires should torch themselves because no one should have this happen to them.

Hi all, I live in one of the fire infected areas, and I can tell you all, this is unbelievable! My family and I have already been evacuated on a number of occasions, luckily our house remains untouched. I'm looking outside my window as I type this and it is still quite 'smokey' everywhere with many fire trucks and police cars passing.

This is a nightmare, the economey issues, the northern floods now this and on top we have those sick bastards going around looting what ever the survivors have left! then theres wankers in goldy/sunshine area posing as fund raisers for the bush fires for there own personal gain.
