If the current Conservatives keep itching to play down their tradition of bile and bigotry, then I suppose much and more of that core base will defect to UKIP which seems to closely mirror the views here. I say Old School Tory because much to their dismay, Ken Clarke has basically said prison isn't working - an unusual position for the right.

And you needn't worry about benefits claimants. An IFS report confirms their budget as most aggressive on the poor, so they've all been dealt with.

@sromag Jonathan Ross used the word nigger in front of Chris Rock in an interview in 2009. It was accepted because of the context, as this is accepted here because Rowan Atkinson is satirising right-wing tories. The PC brigade only have a problem of that word being used in a derogatory or offensive way. Which is probably the type of way i'd imagine you would use it.

It was accepted because it was between 1979 and 1982. Watch the interview with J Ross and Chris Rock again. It's on youtube. There is an abyss of difference in the way it's used.

I'd be super-amazed (and impressed) if they ever showed this sketch on uk terrestrial TV these days. (They did not show it when it was on a couple of Xmases ago)

Back to the original point, using the word nigger or putting on an accent is accepted in the right context. my family are asian and enjoy spike milligan and peter sellers and rowan atkinson who have all used indian accents. Its when someone does it spitefully and with the intension of causing hate, like Bernard Manning or Jim Davidson
