No duh- 200hp infiniti doesnt beat a 180hp, and much lighter, audi tt (not to mention that audi has a turbo built-in. But incase this is discouraging to new drivers, the current TT is 211hp and the G37 is 330hp so this should make a closer match-up now.

even with 180 BHP the FWD TT is so light, weight to distance ratio, The 225 has more HP but with the weight of the Drive-train makes it about even, The Auto 3.2 V6 has the most HP but the larger engine weighs more so its not actually faster. Like some one mention it comes down to many variables, weight tires track driver mods. Both are nice cars and can be tuned. but no car is unbeatable.

yeah.. they make 180 and 225 hp with the same 1.8t engine. just slightly different block, duel intercoolers duel exhaust and different tune and bigger turbo. for the most part anyway. or you can have your 180 apr tuned and go to 240 hp.

or your 225 up to 260.

Its funny that you can make 300 hp easily out of a 1.8l engine.

I think the Infiniti driver was easing up on the gas because of the car further ahead in his lane, and the TT driver just kept it floored.

As an owner of the mk1 225 tt i gotta say the car has problems but if you do enough research before u buy one & know what to look for & most importantly go to an audi & vw specialist to get it looked at twice a year then you'll be suprised how great the car is, i recently had a k&n cool air intake, dv, chip mod & exhaust system both from MTM, i ran dyno and the car is pushing 265 horses & most importantly 380 torques, since then i've smoked plenty of mk2 tt on the road.

the timing belt must be replaced if the previous owner hadn't already done it. The water pump should be looked at to make sure its operating correctly so it doesnt over heat when u push it hard, also the dashboard "aka dashpod" should make sure it works perfectly cuz replacing one of those is costly. I would IMO avoid APR chipped ones as loads of ppl i know had problems all associated with turbo break-downs (on the mk1 TT & mkv gti). thats about it i guess, happy car hunting!

ok guys the TT is most likely min 225 HP and 207 torque or its the faster 250 HP v6 model...either way even if its the 225 when you chip it it hits round 255-60 HP and 280ish torque now the G35 still has 287 HP and bout the same torque BUT ITS WAYYYYY Heavier which actually brings the power/weight Ratio below the TT's so with that in mind... Yes the TT could win...also the TT is the Quattro (AWD) and with a manual 6 spd.

TTs have a upgraded turbo in comparison to jettas and golfs and all that cool stuff. Stock a TT is pushing 225hp and if you APR chip it youll be making approx 250hp and 260 torque... and yes, that is my final answer :)

Both cars are fast. But seriously, the TT looks like a VW bug. I'll take the G any day. Plus you will get 150k miles out of the infiniti. Lot's of yuppies buy audis,,,,once... then around 30k miles they realize they are junk and trade it for a beamer.

hey, umm the 1st gen tt's don't have twin turbos and they don't have 205 hp...Try one turbo and a 1.8 225 hp engine, and your g35 wouldn't beat a tt if you can't beat an a4, a4's are 2.0T but slower than tt..... maybe you mean S4?

i frequently race my friend with an 05 gti. his is stick with a revo chip, tbe, intake, TIP, and a short shifter, and I pull him pretty well once i hit 4th. from a 1st or second gear roll he stays to within about a car, but once 4th hits its all over.

My AUNT has one, ok! The tt for me, is all about being rare. You don't see that many. It's not too popular. It's not the best looking car around. People that say it's shit are entitled to their stupid opinions. For me it is a GREAT chick magnet. It has so far been trouble free with an apr stage 3 kit installed.

@frumusello I don't know what kinda car you drive, but hp doesn't mean everything.. I can drive my 135i E82 with DCT and walk all over the G35/37 any day even they have a 3.7L and 328hp..the S4 is more powerful on the paper, still gets raped by the 335 by all means..take weight, road condition, weather, tire, and specially THE DRIVER into consideration..
