  • wow amazing book and now amazing movie !!

  • jeremy brett was great..comparisons are always silly. The TRUE comparison must be how CLOSE does the actor come to portraying the character AS CREATED by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Mr. Lee comes very close indeed.

  • "just letting the cat out." :)

  • Sitting here, eating pudding, watching sherlock holmes, ahhhh life is good. :)

  • Mizsherlockholmes, hee hee, I really did laugh when I read that!

I believe you and I are kindred spirits :)

  • WATCH.,'THE,,;FULL;`;TV;,.SHOW``;ONLINE`.;

  • i like the random appearance/mentioning of historical figures

  • Saw this movie on T.V. loved it, it had good element of suspenseful drama. Finally I have the chance to own it on dvd. Thanks for posting fireworkschannel

  • The tattoo at 1:30:26 is easily seen as a water tattoo. Just look around the edges.

  • Hi,

Does anyone know the title of the piano composition at 7:24? Thanks.

  • Ahhhh... I see it's the return of "Stupid Watson".

  • Jenny Seagrove, at 35 in this 1992 production, is just a tad-bit to young to portray the 57 year old Lily Langtry in 1910! That's okay by me, though, since Ms Seagrove is so easy on the eyes--speaking of which, she'd got one beautiful pair of big blues!

  • Hans Zimmer must have done the soundtrack. I must purchase it right away.

  • My favorite part is that this series is called "Sherlock Holmes: The Golden Years." It's just so...geriatric.

  • Chris Lee was Sherlock Holmes? wtf? oh well, interesting enough, I suppose. this Mycroft has far too much energy, though.

  • @calliesaiyan Not to mention, Mycroft was a large and heavyset man. Why on earth did they hire some puny little guy to play Sherlock's older brother???

  • I do believe that Basil rathbone played the best sherlock holmes captured the true esscense if u will that many believe Holmes to be.

  • Many thanks for sharing this! I am enjoying it immensely, and I can't wait to watch part 2.

  • ...did you know, that if you look at the timeline, Holmes was about 20-30 during his Baker Street years?

I'll never get used to seeing him old...

  • @TheSweetClover Which timeline? The one I've always known establishes Holmes and Watson, circa late 1880's through the 1890's, as in thirties and forties. Holmes is said to have been born in 1854.

  • @TheSweetClover What timeline are you using? Holmes is said to have been born around 1854. He has gentleman status and the gravity that comes with it in the 1880's and '90's, something not commonly afforded to any man under 30. The Doyle tales crafted before 1900 depict Holmes and Watson as thirtyish (in their early adventures) to forty-somethings in the late 1890's.

  • @vinidici If I'm not mistaken, A Study in Scarlet refers to Holmes as a young man. Also, considering the fact that Holmes and Watson met in a University, I've always thought of him as young. (I have never seen a birthdate mentioned)

I believe Laurie R. King, who writes a Holmes series, has information backing this up on her website. While I don't agree on everything she portrays Holmes as in her books, this is a thing I do.

I could give you a link, if you would like it.

  • @TheSweetClover It's been many years since I've read the old Doyle tales, but I do know that "A Study..." was the earliest, both in publication and in Holmes chronology, and I do remember Holmes & Watson as being "young men." They were probably in their thirties, though. Watson already has a comfortable practice in medicine, a status not generally attained by men under 30. I believe it's been established that Holmes was born in 1854 ("His Last Bow," 1914; Holmes at 60).

  • @TheSweetClover Yes, may I have the link? Thanks!

  • thank you for not adding commercials

  • Love the cheetah bit.

    "Kitty, kitty, kitty."

    "Just letting the cat out."

  • How fun! I'd never seen Christopher Lee as Holmes. I do think that he does a very good job. The voice is astounding! He has to be my new favorite.

  • @ecsheats He does do a good job.

  • roflmao xDDDD!! Like a chetah is something totaly common place to wake up to in your room...!! xD lol Totaly straight-faced and everything x)

  • @demicassy Holmes isn't exactly the type to panic.

  • thats awesome how sherlock wakes waston up...When my family and I on vaction my dad sronzs just as bad waston..hehe I do same thing hee

  • YUM I LOVE HIM AS SHERLOCK <3

  • I Love sherlock holmes expecilly the originals

  • doesn't come close to Jeremy Brett

  • For poor Windoze users who cannot play online media. You are not alone. Save up and get a Mac!

In the meantime, go to add/remove programs and make sure you only have ONE version of Java (JRE) installed. Even if this seems to be the case, uninstall & reinstall Java. This may help...

  • Rannrudisill, I'd rather use an old PC than the newest Mac. To each his own.

  • ugh...doesnt come even near Jeremy Brett's series.

  • lol handjob 0:23:44

  • That's a cheetah! They're harmless! And the wrong vocalizations for it.

  • You know i really do lovethe video and i don't mind the commercials, but the fact that Google sees fit to increase the volume to so high that it really does piss me off !! Google pull your head out of your ass and moderate the volume to the same level as the programing!!

    James

  • I know! I hate that dang Red Bull commercial for that very reason!

  • The director has no idea about India. How come Ram Dulav is wearing a muslim cap .. Indian Hindus never wear such caps...

  • Thanks for uploading

  • Funny, the leading lady here (the actress) also played the girl in the Granada "Sign of Four" with Jeremy Brett. =P

  • Playing OK for me.

  • lol, 22:03, how does one wake up dead?

  • That is funny ha ha. My Mom used to say the same thing "one day I could wake up dead." lol

  • Where's part 2? What's the use of loading only 1 part?

  • How depressing, I watched with great pleasure until 25:49 then it froze. It seems to have just frozen, refuses to download any more data and I cannot see any way to continue watching.

I am giving up, this is a most upsetting presentation.

  • every video (movie) that youtube provides freezes up. when this happens, make a note of how far you are into the video (ex: 0:25:49 / 1:33:48), then hold the "shift" button down and click on "reload." you will be sent to the beginning of the video. watch the ad again, wait c. 20 secs. after the ad and then click on the timeline at the point the video froze. you will have to watch another ad, but this method has worked many times for me. irritating? yes. effective? yes.

    good luck!

  • I'd just like to note that I also use this technique, although I have no need to hold down the shift key. Then again I am using FireFox, so perhaps the shift key is needed in another browser.

  • yeah where is part 2
