  • I'm a Federer fan with all my heart, but please shave your chest!

  • He's wearing a sweater!!

  • roger is fat

  • He has a perfect athletic body for his sport. Super low body fat is overrated. The best athletes usually don't look like the fitness models and movie stars with shredded six packs. The reason tennis players aren't super muscular (unless they have insane genetics, like Monfils) is that they spend their whole lives playing tennis and honing their bodies for it. To build muscle you excess calories, which they burn, and off days, which they don't get.

  • @superman11978 - That isn't true, actually. Low BF% is always a good thing. Less weight, more efficiency, etc. Tennis is a very aerobic sport in my opinion, which can definitely cut down on the muscle mass, but shouldn't have an effect on BF% as long as they eat properly. Tennis players are known for their agility, stamina, and technical skill, not their super well developed athletic bodies. That IS changing, though, and Rafa is a good example of this. A fit, strong, and excellent tennis player.

  • @superman11978 - (continued) Also, tennis players SHOULDN'T have such imbalanced arms. Again, Rafa Nadel is a good example of this. He's got low BF%, he's strong, agile, technically very skilled, and possess a balanced muscular body. BF%, though, is mostly nutrition, to be perfectly honest. It's all about eating what, when, and knowing how much. Athletes like football players and MMA fighters (power sports) DO look like hollywood stars because...

  • @superman11978 - (continued 2) Tennis players, soccer players, and sportsman/women who play heavily aerobic based sports spend hours and hours doing low-medium intensity practice, which doesn't lend itself well to developing a ton of power and getting really strong and fast. They CAN get lean, though, with the right type of nutrition. -- Sorry for the long comments, but this is something that is not commonly known and I want people to know it. Regards,

  • i bet putting the word "shirtless" in the title of the video made it get the 100 000+ views xD

  • no muscles on arms, weak abs, I would be ashamed to play shirtless like that:-)

  • @cammpinno Federer has 16x more Grand-slams than you :)

    umad?

  • @cammpinno more muscles means lower speed. you do not udnerstand tennis. it's a mind game.

  • @cammpinno I bet he could break your f.ng arm with just a punch.

  • Interesting - I was there, on the left, under the cover, it was a hot day I remember.

  • I would love to play a match against Federer during His Training Session

  • They should show the matches in tv with this kind of view rather than high.

  • Why the G.O.A.T plays with a dumb..???

  • @slatz20 tommy haas is a fucking legend shut the fuck up cunt

  • @slatz20 Roger is actually playing with Tommy Haas

  • Roger is the new Chewbacka

  • lol at people sayig federer is fat. guarentee you federer would be no more than 8% body fat. which is very healthy.he would have strong abs but you dont get abs to show uness you train them hard. often people do sit ups and add extra weight using a 5kg plate or something

  • @AceGuitarR7 na hes obviously a top athlete but he def has subcutaneous fat def more than 8% lol but those are just his genetics obv he has qualities that are a lot greater than having perfect body fat

  • federer's got lanky flexible arms compared to his body width, don't get me wrong, i by no means is saying his arms are skinny and lacking in muscles. The build of his arm is well fit for tennis.

  • @gabe228 his left arm is so much smaller. lol, I kinda freaked out when i saw that. But then again, his right arm is the best! :D

  • @kojiro99999 almost all tennis players have one arm much stronger than the second one, look at radek štěpánek for example

    pf 2012 btw

  • federer needs to shave...

  • More shirtless Roger, plz....

  • Hi mum!

  • wow roger has a belly. i gues hitting all that tennis, u gotta eat allot lol

  • @millionairejh No, this was in 2008 when he was really out of shape and in a bad slump.

  • WTA ain't hurting, but when it is...

  • yeah pro tennis player must train their abs

nalbandian excepted... (because of recurrent wounds)

  • love federer's love handle

  • not fat, just no trained abs

  • @wingra10 Actually his abs and entire core are very trained.

They are not trained for definition or "looks"

they're trained for strength and hypertrophy.

  • to bad.... womans dont play shirtless

  • I would love to see woman train shirtless:D like Wozniacki and Sharapova:D

  • @BruceAlmighty1993 i hope this day will come soon! :D

  • @BruceAlmighty1993 u re brucealmighty do it urself :D

  • @BruceAlmighty1993 Haha maybe they do on their own courts though

  • @BruceAlmighty1993 trust me u wouldn't :@

  • @BruceAlmighty1993 that would be considered pron, in a tennis situation. I say "situation" because nobody would be watching tennis.

  • is federer wearing a sweater?

  • federer is fatter than i thot

  • @Nefinity lmao fat? not at all. these guys have nearly 8% bodyfat which is nothing

  • @Nefinity fat u jokeing

  • he doesnt have any leg drive

  • Roger's right arm is visibly much bigger than his left arm.

    LOL

  • @ryanrenesis no shit im pretty sure most tennis players are like that

  • @ryanrenesis well the left arm is enough big to throw the ball for a nice serve :-)

  • nadal's biceps is so big because he uses another way to get rackethead-speed. since him being a righty he's never used a really fluent forehand motion.

fed uses his shoulders and forearm to accelerate the racket. both of them have big forehands, but nadal uses thes short swing around his head very often and that motion looks more like fast lifting of weight and therefor he makes more use of his biceps than most other players.

  • @deagmomo

Nadal is naturally more muscular and works out heavier......

  • @splendid1000 works out "heavier"?

    explain.

  • he shud play like this during his matches. damn sexy.

  • he shud play like this during his matches. damn sexy.

  • haha fed = hairy

  • You really dont need to be ripped to hit smack the ball as hard as federer. Tennis takes fast twitch muscles.

  • @ticklemejoshy85 And impeccable technique which Roger has.

  • @ticklemejoshy85 Also about using all your core muscles and how you construct your swing but roger is pretty bulked up just isnt a naturally big person like nadal or delpo

  • @ticklemejoshy85 And NADAL ???

  • @ticklemejoshy85 late response but your comment got 20 thumbs up and doesn't make sense . . .

Fast twitch fibers make you look jacked (sprinters). Slow twitch fibers are those that make you look like federer's upper body (marathoners). Power in tennis comes from technique and legs/core. That is why fed can smack forehands like he does. Has nothing to do with upper body mass. Tennis players train upper body simply for balance / flexibility / injury prevention.

  • @thegarbageman21 I don't if that is is true. Once I heard brad Gilbert talking about the candian polanski. He said that polanski was injured to the leg and could not play for 3 months. Thus He (brad) said that polanski did a lot of upper body training *(shoulders, arms , back, pecs etc) and after brad said thats why now he can hit the ball harder. but I still agree with you that lots of power come from the core, speed rotation legs etc.

  • @thegarbageman21 If u play tennis like nadal ur arms (and whole body for that matter) become REALLY sore !! his muscles are not just for balance/flexibility/injury prevention !

  • @thegarbageman21 If u play tennis like nadal ur arms (and whole body for that matter) become REALLY sore !! his muscles are not just for balance/flexibility/injury prevention !

  • @ticklemejoshy85 LOL and your comparing them to what, the slender, longer, slow twitch muscles fibres? There are three types of muscle fibres, and fast twitch gain bulk the most, consequently making you look more ripped. Ever wondered why Usain Bolt looks like a machine? Fast twitch muscle fibres baby. Federer isn't ripped because he doesn't need to be, it would probably create unnecessary weight.

  • @ticklemejoshy85 Oh and yeah, type 2 B fast twitch muscle fibres are found in large numbers in the muscles of the arms. Just incase you weren't aware, you use your arms a lot in tennis.

  • federer's game is based on his flexibility, speed and footwork. he doesn't have alot of body fat..which explains his skinny arms and legs..but his weight (85kg) is mostly made up of muscle which lies in his upper body and legs..

infact, nadal and federer both weigh the same in kg..

  • @AlphaDraconis7 Actually i think more than Muscle its Bone weight coz Federer's wrist is so powerful!! And u know that 1 handed BH flick rite?

Its all to do with bone strength!!!

  • this really shows that roger has so much skill in tennis, look at his arms he's not completley ripped like nadal its because he doesn't need to be he, has smooth solid strokes and thats more important than muscle

  • well you dont need to be ripped to have strength. they're not fasion models, it's for quality and use of their bodies, not for lookds.

  • Tommy!!!!!

  • shirtless training, both side: match should be play like that

  • @snappycruise specially the WTA games

  • is that really federer?? look at the crowd its practically empty!!

  • he's training only there are matchs playing nearby

  • and by foot sound, I mean at the 25-27 second mark.

  • I've never heard feet make a sound like Federers is making in this video. It sounds like in a 2 second period the Feet are making like 50 impacts.

  • wouaw!

  • great!

  • love it!! :)
