  • this is the removal of black sand that is primarily iron particles. These particles are naturally occuring in nature. They are found in the areas also associated with gold regions. This excersize is to pull out the blacksands and leave everything else as well as the gold. The magnet is a nail pick-up tool. It is rated at 16 lbs.

  • Is that sand or iron filings?

  • I am just starting with the whole gold from sand thing. And I have put together two ways I am now thinking how to get gold, from concentrate or black sand. obviously it would be about 100 times easier to get the black sand, scoop it up and pan it or w.e

  • Let me know what ways you are looking into and I could be able to steer you in the right direction. I have made some mistakes you could learn from. I also do some things right you could learn from. LMK

  • is it just any black sand or black sand from rivers or places where you know theres gold cuz i have a lake near buy and there is a lot of black sand there

  • Funny question. I grew up in Michigan and seen the black sand all my life. I went back two weeks ago and panned some out. I'll be flipped! There was GOLD IN THERE!!!! If you have black sand that you can test, by all means, get some and pan it out. Removing the magnetics will always make it easier to keep the gold. Classification is also very important. Keep me informed, I may just invite myself along for the adventure.

  • will do!

  • i have a lot of black sand that i have been work for a week now , you can get them magnets at some hardware stores

  • Hardware and woodworking and tool stores carry them. I got mine from the ebay guy "shokstrap" Pans and all. Good price too. I've found 2 and 8 pounders but his is 16 lb pull. Let me know what you find. Thanks

  • You keep the black sand a treasure it! Throw out all the gold that is left behind. Who likes yellow anyway? OOps Switch those two, Keep the gold. Now you have two choices throw out the black sand or grind it. If you decide to grind it, re-run it with the magnet and pan the non-magnetic remains to capture the released gold. Generally anything smaller than 50 mesh doesn't need to be ground up. Everything else should be ground to 200 mesh or finer. Have fun.

  • I don't understand what do you do with that black sand ????

  • Well believe it or not, the material in the video is from clear creek. Let me know how you do.

  • very helpful. i'm too cheap to buy an expensive piece of equipment for fine gold recovery, and try to stay away from chemicals & mercury. I'll try this with all the concentrates i've been saving from clearcreek. that stuff is superfine. thnx :)

  • I got this sand from Colorado, west of Denver There is a lot of fine gold, it all adds up. If you get good at getting the fine gold there will be no trouble when a nugget falls in your pan.

  • looks like you can make a very nice living off of this cause it tooked like a good deal of gold in there.

where do you get that sand from?

  • awesome video :D

where did you get the magnet for it?

  • you can get those magnets at gold panning supply stores.

  • Off e-bay search "gold-mag" those are the same magnets, trays and all. Removing those magnetics is the only way to go to get all the gold. If you have wet cons make sure that the material is all under water for the pick-up and dropped under water in the trays as well. Thanks for watching
