But I think the reason black ops does not have it is because it mess up strategy. shot guns are close range, so you should kill it easily long range. with a shot gun, you don't try to kill a man across the map. But this does not apply to quickscopers. A sniper should be at a HUGE disadvantage close range. That's how you take snipers out, get close to them.
@MichaelShi8 except that if youre using an assault rifle you can pretty much kill anyone at any range. the fact that you need you be scoped in for like 2 seconds before you can even shoot, and by then youre already dead, makes the sniper basically useless.

whats the point in quick scoping why not just use it NORMALLY, thats not what snipers are meant for. if i get a reply saying "because it looks awesome" i will ignore because who cares what it looks like if its not effective.
Because sniping realistally in call of duty is often too slow for most players and quickscoping allows you to compete with other weapon types with your rifle.
Also, many people find quickscoping generally fun to do.
@BlueFatalis The reason I quick scoped in MW2 was because it kept me on my toes. I had to be aware of all surroundings and quick with the controller to kill someone. I got bored of easily killing people with the ump or m16 so I decided to learn how to quick scope. And this is a game it does not have to be real life that is why hard scoping is frowned upon especially when people camp. Many people will be able to do it but not a lot of people will be able to go positive with quickscoping.

look im pretty sure, not 100%, but all that double y tapping does when scoping in is kinda of replaces the animations, so basically what your doing is scoping in for the right amount of time where the shot will go straight, but replacing the scoped in animation with the double y tap, so its basically the same as a hardscope... but it looks cooler.

And you will never hit anything when shooting at the sky...

@Warrenoh I'm not for one side or the other but quick scoping doesn't require skill.. line up cross-hairs and get right timing.. with enough practice it becomes natural to the point where u don't even think about it.
so what SKILL does it require??

Quickscoping requires a SPLIT SECOND of you lining up your scope, any other gun can just SPRAY that said area until you get the kill.

Same reason everyone don't use an AK47u... people use the guns they like that match their play-style. Also casual players don't really understand the full concept of quickscoping because it wasn't meant to be part of the game so they don't know anything about it.
Every gun takes effort and you're just butt hurt that the glitch which allowed you to use your sniper as a shotgun got patched.

No, not every gun takes effort. Nube tubes take NO effort WHAT SO EVER. Knifing takes NO effort WHATSO EVER. Using an SMG takes NO effort WHAT SO EVER. I can show you clips of an SMG if you have PSN. Get over yourself

Actually MOST players ARE casual players, they just don't go on youtube videos and don't argue about pointless shit.
In mw2 knifing, noobtubing and quickscoping took no skill. So they fixed them in blackops.
Reason smgs are so OP in close combat is because that's what they are for, close range. Do you see them making shots across the map? Snipers are meant for long range not a 1 shot kill up close.

COD4 all the way. if u think anything in black ops takes "skill" ur wrong it takes like 10 bullets to kill sum 1 and every 1 who plays it camp pretty much. Id rather have sum 1 quick scope me than spray the fuck out of me and get lucky.

trust me though, with all the assault rifles being king in this game so far, anyone trying to do this will get their asses raped repeatedly. find a nice spot to chill in a corner and just aim down your scope, it's harder to get kills than it sounds

Because sniping realistally in call of duty is often too slow for most players and quickscoping allows you to compete with other weapon types with your rifle.
Also, many people find quickscoping generally fun to do.

@BlueFatalis The reason I quick scoped in MW2 was because it kept me on my toes. I had to be aware of all surroundings and quick with the controller to kill someone. I got bored of easily killing people with the ump or m16 so I decided to learn how to quick scope. And this is a game it does not have to be real life that is why hard scoping is frowned upon especially when people camp. Many people will be able to do it but not a lot of people will be able to go positive with quickscoping.

I think if you try this in a live game against good player you will get your face raped.You may get away with it in a public match but eventually treyarch will get wind of it and patch it.They dont want QS in their game simple as that.

look im pretty sure, not 100%, but all that double y tapping does when scoping in is kinda of replaces the animations, so basically what your doing is scoping in for the right amount of time where the shot will go straight, but replacing the scoped in animation with the double y tap, so its basically the same as a hardscope... but it looks cooler.
although thats just my theory

Just using regular guns like sub machine guns and assault rifle is the funnest and most balanced of the cod series but sniping is just awful. I dnt care about quickscoping but just shooting is akward and just sucks to use. Fix it treyarch because the rest of the game is amazing

@MegaHumanbean Yeah, I always try to aim on the enemy as fast as I can, so while I'm trying to find the enemy my sight is flying all over the map, and I trying to prevent it from moving, which in return makes me aim at the sky, floor or some random brick wall. And you will never hit anything when shooting at the sky...
