What a delightful little film! I'd really love to know where this was filmed and if any of the street scenes are still recognisable today - it would be great to see what they look like today on Google Street View!
What a great film - 1905, 107 years ago, (3 years after Hibernian last won the Scottish Cup - not relevant here, but highly amusing if you come from Edinburgh and support Hearts). Cars had only just been around for a few years. Love the trick driving - if you look around 6:02, you might see a hand coming up from the pasenger footwell - but camera angles chosen really well. I love these early films.
Great little film. Not quite sure why the kidnapper drives away with the girl on the wrong side of the road. Good the subtle way of showing how "Evil" the kidnapper is by him going into a "Billiard Hall" Great film thanks for posting it.
"Ah yes, I've succeeded in kidnapping the child! Let me just leave it outside alone for a few minutes....."

Charming and delightful. The dog and the little girl are adorable.
Thanks for uploading this little gem BFI, it's a moving and wonderful glimpse into the Edwardian era.

That was great! Too bad the dog didn't thrash the kidnapper before driving the car back. Amazingly well trained dog. Enjoyed the video!
