  • I was always told that it called for a bit of scat as well

  • could you make it by placing the pine resin on the ash bed its self?

  • It's the weakest glue I have ever used, just wasted half my day collecting the stuff because some guy said it was as strong as epoxy. It is cool that this was one of the first glues used but I would rather read about it then ever try to use it again.

You can get a glue stick for a buck and it works 100 times better.

  • @MTHKITEBOARDS Made well this can be really sticky. Much better then a glue stick. But more effort.

  • Looks like you're cooking up heroin.

  • does it have to be pine? i have a pine but i dont think it has much sap on it. but i have a plum (well i think its a plum, it makes a few small delicious plums, so i guess it is) tree that has alot more sap bubbles, can i use that?

  • i am going to ask a real silly question and how would you use that as glue, i take it you would have to heat it up again to use it? Also, if you had that stick with your glue on the end and you lit it, would that work as a type of candle? Sorry for the stupid questions, many thanks

  • Great video Malc. What excatly is the ash for.

  • @19countryboy71 did u ever get an answer. I would like to know about the ash

  • @mrouterrim no!

  • Great video ... Have you ever made any hide glue?

  • Thanks for that video! I've never found exactly the ratio but i've seen in your comment 40 charcoal / 60 pine pitch... gonna try this... mine has often been either too hard and brittle or too soft...

    Thanks, great vid! CH-eers mate!

  • man ai like all you videos very smart soory for bad anglish

  • I just thought of it, you said you'd need a metal container? clay would work fine too.

  • Kdo umí, umí. Kdo neumí čumí :-) Díky máš dobrá videa.

  • haha i used this on my project for school...

and a question, is it legal to use snares in the usa, north carolina?

  • google it

  • In PA, you need a trappers lisence, but, that's if you get caught. XD

  • @neal301 us not unless it is a survival nessessity canida no clue

  • @neal301 it is long as you dont get caught

  • there's not a Mrs Rambo, is there John Jay?

  • well it seal and kinda glues stuff

  • wat do u do with it?

  • its just a natural glue, so anything you use glue for. also its used in making a bow in the woods

  • 2:08 is that will smith in the background?

  • family guy

  • Thanks for the answer, alot of youtubers dont even check there comments. Joseph T (fly2000jtb)

  • Where did you get the pine sap (resin)? I got some from a incense seller on ebay, I hope it works as well as the stuff you got in your video. The seller is from the U.K. , I don't know where or which part till I get the package. I figure U.S. Pine would due but no one really wants us to gouge or cut there trees to collect it ya know. Cool video though thanks for posting it, Joseph T.

  • U.S. pine will work just fine. Look for broken or pruned limbs. The tree will bleed out a little anywhere it is injured, so you can scrape off the dried resin from the trunk.

  • Hey, jjr. what are the quantities, list of ingredients, etc? and how do you extract the pine pitch/resin?

  • Thats cool but it looks like you are cooking up some black tar hairon

  • hey johnjay, I've tried to make pine pitch using this method on an open fire and my pine sap always seems to catch fire and then gets really unmanageable when I try to use it. any suggestions?

  • mmm, maybe the flames were too high or the fire too hot ,maybe try cooking it over some smallish embers , i hope this helps

  • u watch cartoons?

  • @Caveman0713

try heating stones on the fire and use that instead of using the fire directly.

  • @Caveman0713 It's better to use coals or heat your pot indirectly (put a stone near or part way in the fire and put the pot on top of that.

  • looks like u can use that stuff for a mini torch because charcoal burns rite?

  • Well Done 5/5

  • hehehe last time i make glue like that it get a wild big flame, good for me im already are bald, hope you like to show if its brittle or not,

  • that is too cool!!! great vid malc! 5/5

  • I tried that on the stove once ..My wife almost kicked my ass!! Now I do it on the bbq.LOL

  • Hi, i found a pinetree today with some almost white pitch, is it bether to use than more darkened pine pitch?

Is the blend about 50/50 or do you have less charcoal than pitch?

  • collect any of the pitch you can , maybe do it 40/60 with more pine sap

  • 5 stars and fav

  • thanks josh

  • yeah i,ve heard of birch tea and i,ve drunk birch sap before ,i can,t wait to try the glue though

  • i,ll definately try it mark and i,ll do a vid when its done .

    malc

  • i,ve not tried it with birch ,yet

  • heating up pine resin in a doctor pepper can! Whats the worst that could happen? lol

  • pipe resin? lul

  • Great vid Malc 5/5

  • serious question, at the end when you molded it onto the stick, is that so you can save it for later, like reusable type glue?

  • Exactly. You can also push it into ice cube moulds to make small re-usable cubes. You will need to coat the tray with vegetable oil to prevent it sticking.

  • but the vegtible oil will make it sog or somthing and wont work.. i think idk, and what did he use, pine tree sap, and charcaul ashes?

  • No. The vegetable wont have any effect on the pine sap. It just pervents it from sticking to the ice cube tray.

  • LOL, you have family guy on at the end of the video.

    pretty cool though

  • Damnitman... thought I was in a drug lab there for a moment.

This is great ... do you ever run out of ideas, Malc?

  • ha, family guy in the background. Nice work, keep up the great videos.

  • yes it would

  • cool malc

  • cool, what does the charcoal do to it?

  • The Resin by its self is brittle. When it cools down the Charcoal adds strenght to it and makes it stronger when its used as glue.

  • makes it stronger

  • Very Interesting!

  • u can use this thing to glue your arrows right? nice vid malc,5.5*

    Ovi.

  • yes but you should add some string to make it stronger.
