@summt5697: That would be OK in a straight line, but many of these imports cost a LOT less than you think to break respectable V8-ET territory, and a lot of them (most of them) handle a sh!t-ton better and would make a more comfortable street car with the newer interiors, bells and whistles. A couple of the imports I've owned broke 12's for less money than my '91 302 Fox did. =X

My talon is near stock, all I did was a full turbo back exhaust, a 16G turbo and some sway bars and lightweight rims.. I have raced a ferrari and kept up from 0-60.. (only because he was tire spin), I have raced a crotch rocket from 0-60 and he was doing a wheelie, he thought he was way ahead and tried to change lanes in front of me, i was right beside damn near caused a crash I have also raced full out against a S2000, and we were neck n neck.
Another riced out 2G FWD. It never stops amazing me how all these guys with different cars only seem to race a FWD DSM and then claim superiority. Let us know when you run a proper DSM.

you'd be surprised. some people know how to tune and modify cars. look on a few sites, these guys plan on pushing 250-300+ horsepower on their balts. but some think slapping on a turbo/supercharger and a big ass muffler will make it better. brains half the size of the head of their dick. hahaha. not saying im one of them. im doing my research, :P

How is that barely.. Barely would be maybe wheels, or intake. That's is no where NEAR BARELY. You probably ran a Supercharged Cobalt SS. Go go against a Turbo'd Cobalt and put a upgraded turbo,a 3" exhaust, and a ZZP tranny on a Cobalt. And see what happened. If not think before you post.

@cblt2007 so its not an ITR swap. its an Aura RSX-S swap. 2.0L 6spd. theres more than just power/weight ratios which you are getting yourself off to. theres also gearing like i said. but for power/weight, here. an 05-09 GT mustang makes 300 crank HP and about 260whp. it weighs about 1100lbs more. i make more than half its HP. i beat it by about 4 cars up to the GT's 150 mph limit when i could still keep going, and i had another gear left, but thats a 40 roll. i never raced it from a dig.

@cblt2007 yeah. sometimes i dont inlcude that header because its just a "swap" header. we need a custom header for this swap, so we have our low budget ones, and better ones that gain you power/torque. i got the smaller, low budget one, and its on my stock 00 EX exhaust, which is tiny, and killed me about 20hp. so im making what a stock k20a2 makes at the wheels, but somehow, with about 15 more torque though. the SS/TC being a little over 400lbs heavier makes a big difference on a roll.

@cblt2007 stock k20a2, stock tranny. the stock tranny is good as it is. same gears as the 05-06 RSX-S except a very slightly different 6th gear, and the final drive being 4.7 on the 05-06. but that gives it less top speed than me its also the same as the newer Si except for 6th gear and final drive. again, giving me a higher top speed. the SS/TC weighs 2926lbs and the SS/SC weighs 2911lbs according to the dealer sites

@KiKaL8 Eagle shut down because Mitsubishi got enough of a strong hold in the US to where Eagle wasn't necessary anymore. The Talon IS an Eclipse. To the point that most parts are 100% interchangeable between the two cars. And I do believe that the Eclipse GST/Talon TSi and the Eclipse GSX/Talon TSi AWD are largely responsible for the huge increase in American interest for import turbo tuning in the US. That car is a corner stone for the sport. more than I can say about a turbo cobalt.
@clifford850r All the parts r 100% interchangeable there is no difference ive been building and tuning these cars for over 9 yrs now 1st and 2nd gen the only difference is ground effects package and wheel package thats it but other than that its all the same (no point intended)

you'd be surprised. some people know how to tune and modify cars. look on a few sites, these guys plan on pushing 250-300+ horsepower on their balts. but some think slapping on a turbo/supercharger and a big ass muffler will make it better. brains half the size of the head of their dick. hahaha. not saying im one of them. im doing my research, :P

my talon is barely better than stock, i put a 16G turbo in it, 3"exhaust from turbo to rear and a new tranny and a blew out a cobalt ss. and i have a FWD talon, this guy should take a manual tranny lesson

How is that barely.. Barely would be maybe wheels, or intake. That's is no where NEAR BARELY. You probably ran a Supercharged Cobalt SS. Go go against a Turbo'd Cobalt and put a upgraded turbo,a 3" exhaust, and a ZZP tranny on a Cobalt. And see what happened. If not think before you post.

@cblt2007 i know im making typos. its my stupid laptop. but anyways. you also saw that cobalt ss stage 2 vs civic video, and saw that civic beat the cobalt with an ITR swap. it makes 5 less HP and 8 less torque than my motor, and its a 1.8L. and to the wheels, it has more drivetrain loss. they're about 160whp stock. in that video, the kid only had an intake and exhaust for mods, and beat the cobalt SS, AND WITH LESS POWER AND TORQUE THAN ME, AND SAME CAR.

@cblt2007 so its not an ITR swap. its an Aura RSX-S swap. 2.0L 6spd. theres more than just power/weight ratios which you are getting yourself off to. theres also gearing like i said. but for power/weight, here. an 05-09 GT mustang makes 300 crank HP and about 260whp. it weighs about 1100lbs more. i make more than half its HP. i beat it by about 4 cars up to the GT's 150 mph limit when i could still keep going, and i had another gear left, but thats a 40 roll. i never raced it from a dig.

@cblt2007 yeah. sometimes i dont inlcude that header because its just a "swap" header. we need a custom header for this swap, so we have our low budget ones, and better ones that gain you power/torque. i got the smaller, low budget one, and its on my stock 00 EX exhaust, which is tiny, and killed me about 20hp. so im making what a stock k20a2 makes at the wheels, but somehow, with about 15 more torque though. the SS/TC being a little over 400lbs heavier makes a big difference on a roll.

@joescivic made to the wheels 170-180.. and that was a quick little car..but then i raced a civic with the same hp but he revved to i believe like 8200 or something.. and he beat me by about a car.. o and i was mistaken the cobalt only weighs 2800 lbs.. thats a hundred lbs less.. big difference.. and the cobalt has a very smooth power band. so its always in power.. but bes power is about 3800-4000 rom and up.. but anyways go ahead and humor me with ur answers on what ur putting in this civic

@cblt2007 stock k20a2, stock tranny. the stock tranny is good as it is. same gears as the 05-06 RSX-S except a very slightly different 6th gear, and the final drive being 4.7 on the 05-06. but that gives it less top speed than me its also the same as the newer Si except for 6th gear and final drive. again, giving me a higher top speed. the SS/TC weighs 2926lbs and the SS/SC weighs 2911lbs according to the dealer sites

@joescivic i just watched avideo of a STOCK k20a2 swapped into a 1995 ex coupe run an 8.31 1/8th mile on slicks... slicks are a huge difference.. from a roll like all FWD cars they are quick.. i never said they werent.. but from a dick on street tires if u r not a surperb launcher u wont be that fast.. but what trans r u putting in? the stck one from the civic? or the stock one from the rsx? and ill try n find the site i went on that said the ss weighed under 2800lbs.. but give me a min on that

@cblt2007 this is when i say you have no fucken clue what you're talking about. the answer was given to you when i said stock k20a2, stock tranny. meaning it was the k20a2 tranny. my original tranny wouldnt fit. these are completely different motors. i daily drive with 205/50/15 radials. doesnt makes a big difference than street tires actually. and whatever site you found saying under 2800lbs for the SS cobalt, is false. the dealer site is more correct. and caranddriver [dot] com

@KiKaL8 Eagle shut down because Mitsubishi got enough of a strong hold in the US to where Eagle wasn't necessary anymore. The Talon IS an Eclipse. To the point that most parts are 100% interchangeable between the two cars. And I do believe that the Eclipse GST/Talon TSi and the Eclipse GSX/Talon TSi AWD are largely responsible for the huge increase in American interest for import turbo tuning in the US. That car is a corner stone for the sport. more than I can say about a turbo cobalt.
