  • No wonder labor hurt so much! John was a BIG baby for a newborn!

  • The unborn babies are all like "Hello neighbor!" when their moms got close to each other. XD

  • I think Elizabeth's HUSBAND WAS IN THERE when SHE WAS GIVING BIRTH to John.

  • to Omnitrix12 - i really loved what you said. I'd never thought about what it meant to be called someone's son back then.

I agree; Jesus is not God's son BECAUSE he became human. On the contrary, he became a man in order to take all mankind's sins onto himself so that we could be forgiven, and hence, be called sons and daughters of God. God is one God in three parts: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus was God the Son before he was born on earth.

  • @oliviabrown92 : jesus is gods son ..hes is one!

the holy spirit , god and jesus are one person!

  • @Ngaa100 YES!

  • that birth scene just about scared me out of having children wow ! :)

  • wow Big Flaw in the movie @ 4:46 when Zacheriah holds up the tablet with "his name is John" -he didnt have any niqqud (vowel points) which they would have had in biblical hebrew writings + it's incorrect as far as I can translate (I'm just learning how to write hebrew so I'm not an expert )

  • ... Jesus not only proclaimed himself to be the Son of God, but also God himself, with all his authority and power, power to heal physically and forgive people of their sins. None has power to forgive sins except God. Hence, God the Son, in human form, Jesus.

  • 3:15 they do the spongebob victory cheer.

  • @MrMSH212 I wasn't trying to argue, so please don't take that the wrong way.

  • i would not want to give birth in those times!!!! sooo scary!!

  • @lmfreels Well, somebody had to do it (in fact a lot of somebodies), or you wouldn't be here. :)

  • i love this movie so much

especially the scene when elizabeth gave birth XD

  • @SupPongo1 me too but i thought it was funny too hahah :D

  • Greatest man in history, named Jesus, had no servants, yet they called him Master. Had no degree, yet they called him Teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called him Healer. He had no army, yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet he conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him.. He was... buried in a tomb, yet He lives today

  • Well said.

  • The Three Wise Men were always my favorite in the story of the Nativity. They seem like real wise, cool and funny guys to me.

  • PEACE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE MIND:

    QUESTION 1 -

If Christ is present since the beginning with God as Christians say - then what is the nature of the relationship between them? And how the shift from deities to the status of human beings in the womb of a woman created?!

  • @MrMSH212 look up the works of Athanasius of Alexandria for the relationship on god and the son, then look up the ecumenical council of Chalcedon in 451 for the nature of christ. those are both considered orthodox

  • @MrMSH212 It was a complicated thing for me to grasp as well until someone in my Bible study group helped me to understand. It's quite simple in fact. Jesus is God, just in human form so that He could reach and better relate to the unbelievers. If Jesus is God, then you are probably wondering why people say that Jesus is the son of God. Jesus is the son of God because all people are God's children. Jesus was a person, so He, by default, by being a human, is God's son.

  • @jofaith101 That was an inspiring answer. Unfortunately, it's also got some crucial errors. The biggest is that Jesus was God's son because He was human, for it says later in Scripture that to them who believed, He GAVE them the right to be called sons of God. If they became sons, then they were not sons before.

You see, in the Hebrew culture "son" meant more than a boy originated from someone. To be someone's son was to be their very image. The son inherited his father's reputation, his...

  • @jofaith101 possessions, his duties, often his very name (for example, John's family thought he should be named Zacharias after his father and were confused at his being given a name none of his relatives had). To call someone "Son of" was to say that they were characterized by whatever they were the son of "Like when Jesus called two of His apostles the sons of thunder, or when He called the Pharisees sons of the devil, etc.). Thus, as the Son of God, Jesus did not merely originate from God...

  • @jofaith101 ...He was God. That's also why the Pharisees were so angry with Him for saying that He was the Son of God at His trial. If "son of God" applied to everyone, then they could not have charged Him with blasphemy for saying that's what He was.

  • @MrMSH212 I am God's daughter, because I am a girl. Men are God's son as well, but Jesus is the greatest son of God because he IS God, just in human form. does that make sense? Its kind of hard to explain, but pray about it, and I assume that will help.

  • @MrMSH212 thats the best way that I know to explain it

  • Oscar is sexy !!!! this movie is good ,

  • Elizabeth's birth was really quick haha if only all births were like that... however the film would last forever if she had a long labour haha

  • I love the Three Kings.

  • wonderful movie

  • Just as God created Adam without a mother or a father, He caused Jesus to be conceived without a father:
'

"Truly the example of Jesus in relation to God is as the example of Adam. He created him from dust and then said to him, 'Be!' and he was." (Qur'an 3:59)

  • @MrMSH212 i never made that connection before :D It proves that God really is the Father too in a way... i love this story because i always learn something new each year!

  • @jofaith101

HOW COME THAT PROVES THAT THE GOD IS FATHER?

IF I THINK AS YOU DID THAT MEANS GOD LOVE TO HAVE CHILDREN THEN WHY HE DID NOT HAVE MORE?

    ALSO WHAT ABOUT EVE?

    AS I SAID BEFORE:

"Truly the example of Jesus in relation to God is as the example of Adam. He created him from dust and then said to him, 'Be!' and he was." (Qur'an 3:59)

  • @MrMSH212 because Mary was a virgin. The only way that any child could have come is through a father. God is the father. Even if you're Jewish, don't you believe that God is the father of all people? (i'm not Jewish, so I don't really know much about Jew's beliefs compared to Christian's, other than that Jew's don't believe that Jesus is the Holy one.) correct me if I'm wrong. Also why would He need to have more. He sent down Jesus, and that was all that was/is needed for His plan

  • lol i love the boys faces when the baby is circumcised

  • The prince is Hot!

  • the three wise men are the comedy relief. I love this movie!!!

  • @defgill I like those 3 men :D

Smart and funny like me :D

  • The magi really don't pack light.

  • Is this the real story

  • Awww, beautiful little John the Baptist.

  • There came a man who was sent from God, his name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light so that through him, all men might believe. He himself was not the light, he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world, and though the world was made through him, the world would not recondnise him. Where Mary feels baby Jesus kicking and Elizabeth with , John is amazing, and where Zachariah speaks!! Glory To God!!!

  • Joeseph is hot!

  • I love the Wise Men! They're so eccentric.

  • @emcee2456 , as to eccentricity I have found most wise men to be so...all the more blessing to the people who can see their wisdom and appreciate it. I think we are all the better for their existence in our lives, and I love them, too.

  • Glory to God in the Highest and peace on earth and Goodwill to men

  • why are they making her hold onto a rope?

  • @InkiepieMusic well they have her in a squatting position so imagine its so she wont fall over. that and with that kind of pain it helps to have something to grip onto

  • @InkiepieMusic its to help her push the baby out.

  • @InkiepieMusic having done natural childbirth, for some reason it helps to pull on something. I was in a tub for waterbirth and I pulled myself up using the bars on the wall. No idea why, but it was just instinctive to do so. I think lots of ancient cultures used the ropes and in some countries today it's still done..... ;)

  • @friendsfamilyaccount I think it's kinda like bitting onto something to help get rid of the pain.

  • At 4:13, the man with the small knife just circumcised John. This was a common practice that takes place eight days after a male child is born. There are medical and religious reasons for it. In Judaism, it is considered proof of a covenant between a man and God. From a medical standpoint, circumcision is believed to prevent certain diseases.

  • @31operafan AHA!! So they connect! it's considered proof of a covenant between a man and God, and medically circumcision prevents certain diseases. So it's still a blessed thing, and could even mean that the covenant was that God would prevent the newborns from having dieseases. I don't know really, but just taking a guess. This was such a splendid, glorious and truthful movie though, no other movie told and showed the birth of Christ better than this one. God bless and good bye.

  • Can you reload this movie, so that you can watch all of it?

  • the wise men are hilarious

  • I only see parts of the movie. Where is the rest?

  • lol "he speaks"

  • I love the story about Jesus.

  • good movie

  • i could just imagine that the air back than was nice and crispy,,compare to now and days.....

  • nice movie !!!!!

  • lol @ 4:51 -- she just throws the baby to the lady

  • man i just love balthasar!!!(black wise man) hes so funny and i love the character who played mary. kiesha is a wonderful actor

  • Man, Herod sure was evil!! The guy who played Herod did a great job playing his role though, great job! But man, Herod was so evil, killed his own wife and two other sons before his third!! That's messed up! This was a great movie, the wise men were funny, and the birth scene with elizabeth giving birth was cool, it was great once she had John. And last but most definetely not least, the final birth scene with the birth of Jesus Christ! Now that was AWEsome and inspiring! Bye.

  • My cousin freaked when Elizabeth was giving birth. He thought she was having a sezure while in labo. ( I don't care if i spelt sezure wrong).

  • ahaha i love those 3 wiseman arguing of going or not...

  • mary's mother and joseph were probably about the same age. thats bizarre.

  • @rlpDean A lot of the older depictions of Joseph show him as old, but this is not likely: men usually did not marry for the first time as old men and the record on Joseph ever having a prior marriage is hazy. Joseph was likely about age 20-30.

  • Other than that, Mary would probably have been 14 or 15 b/c back then girls were married off not long after physical maturity. Elizabeth I would guess to be about 38, and Anne would be about the same age. (Remember, people in Ancient Judea had shorter life spans than today: Elizabeth would be considered ancient to have a child at age 43 if death usually struck around age 50.)

  • guess so

  • @shadowkitty56 I wonder what happened to girls that were really homely - what if nobody wanted to marry you? Did you just live with family members until you died? Even in the 1800's, there were some jobs for unmarried women - teachers, housekeepers. I wonder what happened to 'old maids' in Mary's time?

  • Joseph is HOT!!!!

  • @ashstashxoxo He actually is, lol, beautiful eyes.

  • @ashstashxoxo yep he is... he is oscar isaac.

  • I agree. Good-looking!!

  • @ashstashxoxo sowry gurl he was already taken or belonged to another

  • @ashstashxoxo He just needs to shave and were golden :D

  • @ashstashxoxo LOL, good, I'm not the only one who feels that way!!!!!!!!

  • @ashstashxoxo Finally Someone Understands :)

  • @ashstashxoxo Haha, AWESOME, I was TOTALLY thinking, "man, Joseph, what a fox!" ;D

  • @ashstashxoxo i thought i was crazy for believing that

  • @ashstashxoxo :You should be taking this story seriously.. it's not about who is hot and looking good!

  • lol, "Only one more camel?"

  • Contrary to the movie, Luke records that Mary left before John was born. So she wasn't present during the birth.

  • Not necessarily, the time puts her in the right spot to be there, it doesn't say AFTER she left, Elisabeth had John.

  • Luk 1:56 And Mary remained with her about three months and returned to her home.

Luk 1:57 Now the time came for Elizabeth to give birth, and she bore a son.

It seems rather apparent that she left before the birth. I am not saying that the time wasn't close. In 1:36 she was 6 months in the pregnancy and Mary stayed with her for 3 making it 9 months. Granted it does seem odd that Mary would stay three months and leave just before John was born; it's obviously not a hill to die on.

  • Also, it means nothing that it doesn't say 'AFTER she left' it also doesn't say 'AFTER John was born she left.' However, we do have a written account of the event of Mary leaving, and then the account of John's birth. I would just rather err on the information that I have. Her presence is neither specifically excluded nor supported by Scripture.

  • Maybe they just put her departure on there before John's birth. Hopefully we'll know one day. Besides, is this argument really even relevent to something important?

  • haha not an argument ... a discussion. Like I said ... not a hill to die on.

  • No because when the angel told mary he said Elizebeth was in her sixth month and then Mary stayed with her three more so that makes nine months.

  • Yes, this much is not in question.

  • What isn't?

  • Didn't they have midwives back then.

  • According to Genesis, there were midwives as early as the enslavement in Egypt. But under the circumstances, it's possible that there was no way to get a midwife for Mary in time. Joseph would not have wanted to leave her once she went into labor, even to go get help, and if he did he might not have been able to find a midwife, so he might have done it himself if perchance he knew how. The Bible doesn't say.

  • King Herad actually killed Antupus. Jesus was most likely born in the spring time. The wise men did not go to jesus when he was born. They came later on when Jesus was about 2. When they do come they call Jesus a child not a babe.

  • @katiemaye98

Actually Herod didn't kill Antipas - Antipas is the "King Herod" of Jesus' adulthood, the Herod who beheaded John the Baptist.

Herod the Great killed his sons Alexander, Aristobulus and then Antipater.

By the way - Herod here is Ciaran Hinds, Gaius Julius Caesar in HBO's ROME series; truly fantastic actor!

  • hahaha the interaction between the three kings is funny. :)

  • The scene where Mary feels baby Jesus kicking is amazing. What a glorious moment! All glory to God in the highest!

  • I don't wanna go off topic, but why is one of the wise men black?

  • Because when the people tried to build a tower to heaven, God changed everyone's language so they couldn't build it.

  • Read Luke 2, it tells the story of Jesus Birth. This was such a wonderful movie.

  • Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to you, O Israel!

  • :33, Joseph is getting impatient for his woman to come back

  • does he say "wine" or "wife" ?

  • wine

  • wine

  • where is the 3 wise men came from? if they are king, what country do they reign?

  • there wasn't "3" wise men there were a whole bunch of them. the reason why people presumed there were three was because there was three gifts given to jesus.

  • The Fathers in the Bible Set a a VERY GOOD example of true fatherhood!!! Let us stop looking to the world for examples of fathership!!! It's all in the Bible!!

  • Werent the family values better, and the Jewish society, because they all believed and trusted in God.

  • most definentley

  • nice film

  • poor elizabeth i dont even want to know how painful giving birth is and my friend mom jsut had her 7th and 8yh kid there twins imagane that pain

  • Wat did da man cut off da baby?? Da ambilical cord?

  • no, the forskin i believe

  • yep, u hit the nail right on the head there.

  • why are there dead men in the trees?

  • that was how people were crucified. there wasn't a "cross" or some big wooden pole in the ground. people were nailed or tied to tree's. this was how Jesus died. on a tree.

  • Then how do you explain Matthew 27:32?

"And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross."

  • mind you, the scriptures were re-written by king james. he put in what he wanted, not what was true. thereby, the translations we use( kjv, nkjv, niv, nwt, nlt, ect.) are product of his corruption.

one theory is that the cross spoken of in this passage was actually a "cross beam". the wooden plank that was placed across the tree trunk, onto which the criminals hands were nailed. although, another belief is that Jesus was crucified with his hands over his head.

    READ, Acts 5:30, 10:39, 13:29,1Pe2:24

  • heh, then King James would have to rewrite all the Greek manuscripts, all the other translation that were made before (all the copies made in different languages) and even the manuscripts that were not found by his times...

    Yeah, sure.

  • the begining of this clip is so priceless, look at mary's face

  • hmmm herods son's well tasty so is joseph

  • lol

  • what about my wife?... if you need another camel ill bring it for you! hahaha

  • He said wine, not wife lol

  • sometimes I wish we didn't have to do it to get pregnant. Not that I want to get pregnant but still when I think of my parents doing it. . . . I want to throw up big time

  • I know right!

  • This is really well done.

  • what were those midwives doing when john was born? they were like singing/chanting or something...

  • okay i no that some people have short births but that one was just a little short

  • A really quick birth does happen sometimes. But no umbilical cord?

  • yeah I love this film - very Biblically accurate with a few minor exceptions (like the Roman guard in the Temple - that was a MAJOR no-no) and I was bothered by the absence of the umbilical cord when the children were born. It just takes away from the realism.

  • your really that bothered by it.

  • i know, right!!

  • Also at the end when they are trying to find a place to have Jesus Mary has a Blue headdress (or whatever). Blue was a very prized and valuable color and for a common person like Mary to have it was unlikely.

  • Blue stood for the law.

  • true, but it could just be symbolism

  • lol i know right? and the baby was big for a newborn

  • i love the part when Mary and Elizabeth both feel the babies moving, that's such a wonderful scene <3

  • I feel sry for mary watching that she's like "ugh that's gonna be me soon :p" but it's a miracle that she bjust "became" pregnant

  • i love it

  • That Show was Beautiful But The Birth Is So Fast

  • they have some badass jerry curls

  • i love this movie i hate how they make the births so short and non realistic

  • 9:11 he is sexy the young guy sexyy

  • lol i agree with SHAW05

  • ya it was lolll
