  • Btw "Kids" is a movie worth watching also

  • i am from xenia but was not birthed at "gang greene memorial hospital". These examples are just examples of true life experiences. although i did not hang out with these types of kids they were here, in xenia. Xenia has takin a downward spiral since the 74 tnado. xenia used to be a kick ass town back in the day! gummo is just symbolic of small town 'jerry springer' mentalities. there are plenty of jerry springer candidates here (as well as many places throughout the country).

  • If you guysd like this movie you might like the band die antwoord

  • Wish I had some acid.

  • Un retrato más que intímista, un gran compromiso.

    Genial!!!

  • I wasn't really sure what to make of this movie; however it interested me none-the-less.

  • this movie has nothing to do with Xenia Ohio

it wasn't even shot in Xenia or Ohio for that matter

Xenia Ohio is my hometown born at GMH i've lived on kinsey.rd, Orange.ST, Belbrook.AVE, and Omard.Dr whent to ST Brigid elementary, tecumseh elementary, Simon Kenton elementary, and COX Elementary schools in Xenia

i know Xenia like the back of me hand and nowhere did we hunt down dead cats or run around in our underwear waring bunny ears this is not our story at all

  • @Fader2003 You should read jandrbryan comment. "Ctrl + F", then "jandrbryan". Last time I drove through, everyone had Bunny ears on! J/K, it just reminds me of the game Saints Row 3 :) What is the "74 tnado"? Never heard of it and I've driven through Ohio plenty or times. Good food :)

  • fucking weird shit, its like a train wreak but u cant look away

  • this trailer is probably the only video in the world that contains both Madonna and Burzum

  • Genuine!!!

  • by far, the weirdest movie I've ever seen... GREAT though.

  • i remember wen we rented this movie years ago. we had no clue wat it was. just the cover looked wicked and it said from the creators of kids. thats all i knew. after i watch it ,it felt like i was on wet(pcp). but i was addicted. the movie was awsome. in my eyes a masterpeice. it was different.thats why it was cool. weird as fuck.

  • in what way is it weird I'm thinkin of watchin it but is it weird like this litle trailer just weird ppl or is it also a sick movie ?

  • this is one of my alltime favs.

  • i bought it agggess ago on dvd but didnt really get it... im gonna watch it again and i know i will be amazed... i cant wait

  • its a very good film.

  • i want to see this

  • This was one twisted movie

  • Why the fuck do they Burzum's Rundgang Um Die Transzendentale Saule Der Singularitat? Are they just trying to ruin Burzum

  • burzum was ruined to begin with varg being an arrogant douche bag

  • your just pissed because he killed in self defense and you're jelous.

  • bad ass!!!

  • You must have been raised in a cave to not know the name of that song.

  • nvm i found the name of the song.. thx to no1

    ...lol

  • this movie is absolutely amazing and beautiful.

    it makes you appreciate life.

all the people that laugh at this movie are ignorent and think down on people that are less fortunate than you.

if you actually try to understand the movie, you would get alot more out of it than a bunch of weird gross random scenes.

  • Just got done watching it. This trailer made me want to see it so bad, and it didnt live up to my expectations. It wasn't terrible, but it wasnt amazing like I thought it would be.

  • song name?

  • Madonna " Like a Prayer".

    Gosh, that's cult...

  • i dont get it

  • wow this movie looks terrible.

  • There are scenes in the trailer that arent in the film. I'm obsessed with finding the deleted scenes.

  • The black man is not Gummo at all, it's another fine movie by Korine..."The Diary of Ann Frank Prt. II" I think that's about right.

  • my friend you saw the watered down version, theres two versions.

  • haha gummossssss

  • I don't really understand why some people think Korine is a talentless hack. To me art is something deeply personal. You don't necessarily need to think of some grand message you are trying to portray, you should only be as honest as you can be and people will be able to interpret your work through their own filters. I think that is what Korine is so good at doing. There is a definite narrative in Gummo but it's different for every viewer I think. Like I said it's something extremely personal.

  • twisted

  • this is kind a surreal movie like...

    david lynch meets larry clark

  • PLEASE

    I have seen worse

  • ah.. i remember that scene where the guy is feeling up his girlfriend in the car.. and he said "theres a lump in yo boobie". i thought that was so sad.

  • ....lol i couldn't help but laugh at this...makes me was to watch the movie, even though the spagetti in the tub makes me want to puke!

  • Why are so many people freaked out by this movie?

You have to realise that there are communities living like this. I thought gummo was brilliant a true indie flick.

  • Completely agree. I hail from a small, rural midwest community.

  • Slayer???

I have to see this movie..

  • There's no Slayer, but the movies features some pretty brutal death metal over really normal looking scenes. Really clever.

  • gummo is stunningly brilliant a masterpiece unlike anything else by far my favorite film of all time every frame is just right i'm sorry but anyone who doesn't see genius here is an idiot

  • agreed, the movie made me sick

    literally

it's a mind fuck how someone can create something so honest

  • amazing trailer

  • why this is k18? :D

  • slayer and boobs, i think:)

  • the black guy with makeup isnt in the movie

  • I think he flashes during the Solomen's dad/luther king montage.

  • what's the name of the song in this trailer?

  • Madonna - Like A Prayer

  • tnx mate)

  • ha ha ha!! the color of the water in the bath!!great movie

  • i loved this movie! omfg its the best dude! that bathtub scene is fucked up

  • so what is this movie about?..I've never heard of it

  • its about lives of people who stayed behind and lived in a torando struck town in ohio

  • i havent seen this yet but dammmn this movie looks fucked up!!

  • Not so scary. Just disturbing.

  • this movie fucking owned everything you ever fucking thought about life will change after seeing it this movie fucking rocks yours and everyone else world when you see how real this is

  • this movie scared me so fucken bad

  • one of the best movies i've seen

  • Anyone know where I can watch this as a stream?

  • my fave movie of all the time.

  • this movie is the best ever.

    it's so weird, and creepy.

that's why i love it so much.

  • THE SKIES WERE FILLED WITH FIRE.

  • it's the best

  • hahaha, "ocean's 51 million"..... I totally agree with you - the film is way better after a joint, but still uneasy to watch at times. But that's kind of what i like about Larry Clark's work; it's so real that it's uncomfortable. Just saw Ken Park too - it's a classic. Because it's REAL.

  • This isnt a Larry Clarke film, its a Harmony Korine film. who wrote Kids....Although I agree their work is very similar

  • you can tell it's not a larry clark film because it's a good film. harmony korine is a genius. larry clarke is just a nonce :)

  • ok, i saw this movie, and i must admit that although it was weird, it wasn't a bad movie, you know? it was just hard to follow and understand =/

  • This is basically the entire movie.

  • Fu@$en A!!! Now I have to find this thing. The trailer reminds me of a "Kids" "Trainspotters" & "A Clockwork Orange" rolled into one.

  • whats it about?

    now im confused lol

  • Doesn't this movie have Mark Gonzalez in it?

  • yup

  • BEST MOVIE EVER CREATED

  • just watched the movie ...so wrong

im not sure what i think about it yet...i dont hate it...it would probably a good movie to watch with your friends and discuss

  • I must say I love this film but ever time after I watch it I feel a little dirty. It has some very odd stuff in it but it is very entertaining at the same time. Just give it a chance and you may walk away from it loving it or just plain sickend by it.

  • i tried to watch this film when it came out but struggled. it was the gay black dwarf that fucked my head up and the mentally challenged prostitute (whos is actually mentally challenged) i am gonna give it another go this film has a lot to offer

  • burzum!

  • That kid has one weird shaped head

  • Whatever happened to wit?

  • I appologize for my comment earlier about Kurosawa being awful, I saw my 5th film by him, Rashomon and it was incredible, I was surprised. Plus, I do agree with you about Gallo being great, Buffalo 66 is marvelous. I'm still not sure about how I feel about the Brown Bunny, it was uncomforting but it was so real and surprisingly pulled off well. But I still will stand my opinion and consider Korine a great director.

  • I suppose this wasn't filmed in Xenia. I live there.

  • what did you find compelling about buffalo 66? i found gallo's character completely uninterestig and all i got from that film is how big gallo's ego is.

  • Gummo is one of the best film ever !

  • i second that...

  • third

  • wtf is this shit?

  • this reminds me of the hills have eyes....disturbing

  • I'm glad you wrote this because I didn't know what to put into words.. ==

  • i like it because its kind of like jerry springer (and i loooove jerry springer and maury) only more conciously absurd

  • The only thing I like about this movie is the Burzum track. Solomon is one weird lookin' motherfucker.

  • this movie is very disturbing

  • I love how Korine and Gallo seem to be forever linked, when Gallo hates Korine more than most things in the world.

  • I thought this film was brilliant. It captures the good and bad of poor white people that doesn't get seen so often. The despair and corrosion of a town that has lost jobs. The decaying of the U.S. itself. This film is as honest as it is prophetic.

  • Agreed. What is wrong with these people?

  • and oh, I'm not a Korn fan by the way. And I'm not even sure adolescent Korn fans would be enough curious to know what the hell is Gummo talking about :).

    Yours truly,

One of those biggest suckers - a Korine Fan.

  • Before I saw his films I read his influences : Godard, Fellini, Cassavetes (obvious), Tarkovsky. His influences were mine, and that's the reason why I wanted so badly to see Gummo. As a fan of those directors, I'm pleased that finally someone has managed to do both something new and rather powerful where you can even feel the gods of cinema's spirits. (hope you understood this, sorry for my frenglish...)

  • I greatly agree with you. Also I thank you for not being childish or fallacious when it comes to sharing your opinion.

  • Korine's a genius. People like him, people don't like him, we don't give a damn. I'm not talking about technical things, the way he films, or the story, but the feelings (ha, I'm sorry, I couldn't help it).

  • entierement d accord avec toi Marie

  • And I'm deeply happy to have seen Gummo or Buffalo, I won't tell you why, because it is linked to my personal experience and I don't want you to take my opinion as lofty, hilarious or whatever, I really don't want to bother you with that, but sincerely, would you please name some of your favourite american (indie) directors that you currently find exceptionnal except Wes Anderson, Gus Van Sant or... Larry Clark ? Or maybe Sean Penn (just saw Into the wild today).

  • Oh, come on, don't be so mean towards Korine's fans! we haven't done (yes, i'm part of them) anything wrong by telling this movie's excellent. I'm french and so spoilt by the previous french directors' heritage, and I love cinéma, I mean I really do, and Harmony Korine or Vincent Gallo are the only indie american directors we know here in France, or perhaps I'm very ignorant of what's new in arts.

  • whether it sucks or not, its made millions of fans...the soundtrack is awesome, he had a drunk conversation with a gay black midget, filmed two deaf people arguing for god sake..to me thats worth watching.

you make something that gains millions of fans, and causes controversy for no apparent reason, than you shouldnt judge or talk shit. Your one of those people who think your more educated, or cultured, go listen to npr you turd.

  • Yes--listening to his fans do crack me up. To earn the title of genius, Michelangelo had to paint the Sistine Chapel; Beethoven had to write his 5th symphony; Dostoyevsky had to write "Crime and Punishment;" Orson Welles had to direct "Citizen Kane;" Kurosawa had to direct "Ikiru."

What did Korine have to do to enter the pantheon of geniuses? Tape bacon to the wall. His fans truly are the biggest suckers!

  • Exactly! They seem to think liking this garbage makes them elite. His fans are so predictable--if a movie has no formal plot, structure, or point whatsoever, and is hated by more mainstream moviegoers, you can bet they'll call it a masterpiece. That someone thinks this kid is a greater genius than Kurosawa can only be explained as immature, pseudo-intellectual pretention.

  • LaDouche, finally, someone said it! Korine's work is utter garbage--the cinematic equivalent of pseudo-artist throwing paint onto a canvas and calling it art. And while I am a believer in the old saying that there's no accounting for taste, Harmony Korine's fans and defenders tend to be incredibly annoying, immature, pseudo-arty, pseudo-intellectual geeks.

  • haha.. best line of the movie!

  • Good movie. Good soundtrack

  • aha oh please.

  • Where's all the substance in that? Gummo had some life ((or lack of)) that made it a haunting hilarious masterpiece. Plus are you the same person that favorited something with Dave Chappelle, the lovely figure in the cc trashy eroding comedy world in it? Modern american comedy is disgraceful to anything caught by camera. I find more humour in the sadistic pleasure of watching Dr. Phil.

  • I understand your point but never compare Korine to Kurosawa, what absolute rubbish. Korine has so much more to show for that long-time directors, Kurosawa never wrote anything appealing except to little arthouse revival bastards that just want an old foreign film just because it's an old foreign film.

  • theres something more to this movie man. im no flake, but still man, i can't just write it off ass some weird peice of shit.

  • i think they did a fine job capturing how fucked up people are in this world. I personally love this movie. I love it because it's way out there. Not like many movies.

  • LaDouche, who ever said Gummo was a "deep" movie? It's different, unique, honest, and original, but just because you hated it doesn't mean those who like it are artfags or something, because that is not the case at all. It's just not your thing, accept that and move on. I'd like to know what types of movies you consider "deep" anyway. And if you think Gummo is pretentious, obviously you haven't seen any Godard, Tarr, Tarkovsky, Rohmer, or Bunuel films, sir.

  • Nice references, jeremizle.

I do completly agree with you.

Gummo is a deep and strange film, which means "beautifully" rare.

People who are not ready to watch it should better think about this sentence:

"Il faut déplaire à certains, pour plaire à d'autres... Tellement!" (Jean Eustache).

Best Regards from the endive's country and peace all over the world:

    glamstrass :)

  • who or what did he hack from?

  • Hell yeah, man. fuck originality! i'm like you douche, i'd rather watch remakes and sequels all day long instead of that shit that makes you think! oh yeah, and go bush!

  • Wierd movie?

  • the weirdest.

  • i don't know i've seen weirder, recently i saw paprika, this anime film about these researchers who developed this device that allows people to view other's dreams, but it also allows dreams to be projected into other people hooked up to the devices. Some of them are stolen and this dream gets loose that is so fucked up that it drives people who have it insane.

  • what is the name of the song that starts at like 0:08?

  • Like a Prayer - Madonna.

  • gross..what year is this movie?

  • i jus bought this Video(wot a classic lol) i never get bored of gummo

  • This movie has probably Thee best opening sequence ever, Bunny BOy singing that, oh so damn strange song that hooks you for some reason

  • great movie...great characters...are they real?? I know some are..

  • The people in this movie were below white trash. Great film though.

  • I love the abstract life of these trashy people, amazing movie but only if you have an open mind. Harmony Korine is brilliant.

  • good movie.... not for all people tho

  • Exactly, some scenes, man...tough to look at

  • This is the most amazing movie I've ever seen in my life.

  • You have my pity...

  • It is really strange

  • You saw that trailer and thought that saying "it is really strange" wouldn't be too obvious to waste your time writing?

  • that was the weirdest movie i have ever seen in my whole life!!!!!!!

  • Slayer kicks ass

  • oh so this is where the guy who cuts slayer into his arm comes frrom

  • No, it's not. It's just in the movie.

  • on a side note, gummo is nowhere near a favorite (i've only seen it once and have no desire to see it again), but i think it's one of those films to just think about and interpret its meaning on your own. some people want a film's meaning to be laid out in front of them, i guess.

  • my favorite movie is amelie but i'm also a fan of elephant, breathless, thumbsucker, trainspotting, a clockwork orange, the shawshank redemption, requiem for a dream, fear and loathing in las vegas, rebel without a cause, breakfast at tiffany's and me you and everyone we know. i'll always love pulp fiction and fight club.

  • i saw the first hour or so of this the last night

i was really wierded out but it was realy good

  • what is your favorite movie? what do you think makes movies "good"? i'm just curious.

  • It's more about social inequalities, you cannot just look at the film at face value, you have to read into the storyline. It's not hard to understand the message if you pay attention and keep an open mind.

  • love this film

  • little rooster goes cockadoodle dooo doodledooo

  • Truly one of the top-10 Independent Films ever made.

  • this is such an artistic film, no one understands the depth this movie has to it.

and the song is Like A Prayer, by Madonna

  • Very nice movie. Anybody know the name of the song? It is popular, but i forgot the name of singer.

  • The Madonna one?

  • Suck Ass Movie.. I had a rope around my neck at the end and wondered...

  • This trailer gave me a wierd feeling. I want to watch it, i read about it. Sounds kind of bizzare

  • its all on youtube if you want to see it

  • it ruled hard.

  • I didn't enjoy this one as much as "Kids" It was still ok. It takes an open mind to understand it though.

  • A town of decay, dropkick dead-ass inbred billy bob jebadiah jethro cledus.A great film about the south and its grim needle realities and how all of these people are left behind in life....Hillarious

  • it's actually xenia ohio... that's not the south... rednecks are everywhere in america

  • Comment removed

  • i agree with zargoffkain OwnagePwnage123 sounds like a complete dipshit. yea ownage its a fuckin emo movie! you fuckin dolt! so tell me what u think off this once ur done jacking off a pig.

  • Harmony Korine is a man.

  • OwnagePwnage123 is most likely a product of in breading, cut them a break. There's no such thing as stupid comments...just stupid people who make them

  • it really is a beautiful movie, I'm sorry if most people don't understand it. Take a deeper look and you might get something out of it. Larry Clark and Harmony Korrine are 2 of the most brilliant directors the world has ever seen. I recomend all of their movies

  • i agree with you gummo is a very beautiful movie...you just need to pay attention to it

  • what the fuck?

  • i have seen this movie and love it but im not sure why.

  • wtf?:S Is this some kind of emo-movie?

  • no not at all..

  • shut the hell up

"is this some kind of emo movie"

fucking watch the movie and you will see what its about

  • what the fuck is wrong with you "mikeshred-dickweed"?

It was a simple question, asshole. How the hell am I suppose to know what the movie is all about when I haven't seen it, that's why I asked!

If you know so damn good what the movie is about, why don't tell it instead of tell me to shut up?

  • What is about the movie someone can say me please I have hear the soundtrack is very good bit I don´t know abouta the movie
