Maison Martin Margiela's is one of the most innovative houses around. There's a picture of their lucite wedge heel on the JuliB site that just knocks me dead.

yeah they were selling them at barney's and it went on sale, like half off, and wouldn't you know my size sold out. i snagged his platform wedges though which are my favorite pair of shoes at the moment
