Awesome Video! Wow you sign fast! I'm Hard of hearing too, moderate to severe hearing lost in both ears. I never learned asl untill last year, (And i only know the alphabet and a few basic words lol) But i took a few asl classes from my last job. I wish i had learned asl a long time ago.

I'm profound, my right hear better than my left. ASL is the best language to speak in. It comes in handy all the time. My boyfriend and I would sign to each other in a loud concert. Or in classes. I'll admit it, my hard of hearing friend and I cheated on our tests by signing under desk to each other haha. It's a beautiful, expressive language.

You will sign fast too, I've been signing since I was two years old. Things take practice. You're learning a WHOLE NEW language.

I grew up oral so i had to learn to read lips and look at people when they speak and I had to take speech therapy when growing up. It wasn't easy lol. But it did payed off to take speech therapy though. And yes your right ASL is a whoooole new language.

I grew up with speech therapy. I can read lips very well. I can talk, most people would understand me but when I talk fast. I just skip the 's' sound, things like that. So it takes a while for some people to get used to my voice. Many people say I have an accent haha. I love my hearing aids, I hate how they are soo visible but it really, really helps. I can hear practically everything but not the birds singing, or crickets haha.

No it doesn't hurt at all. But its very painful if you have ear infection.

I can listen to music with them in open. For earphones, that is tricky. The mic on top of my hearing aids absorbs the sounds. I can tuck the earphones behind my ears so I can hear the music. But it's very uncomfortable. So I use 'Boot - FM system' you just simply plug it to iPod & taadaa, I hear music without earphones. I love using 'Boot' in my classes cause my teachers can't see that I'm listening to music
