why is everybody complaining that there's no tabs? YOU CAN SEE WHERE HIS FINGERS ARE PLAYING RIGHT THERE!!!! If you can't figure it out from what his fingerings on the solo is then try another song and come back later when you get better.
@rileydd08 study scales, mainly the major and minor pentatonics and also the 7 modes. study music theory because that's also what helps you play chord progressions and the soloing around it.
Love the jazz style voice. I personally feel that mellower guitar tones articulate better for blues/jazz. Stevie Ray's tone was great, but it just doesn't always work. Sometimes it's cool to push the chunky, bright single coil stuff aside and play some buttery humbucker tones.
@airforcejim Yep you're right. Works especially good with chording. I find single coils to be perfect for playing higher on the fretboard though, they articulate those bends better.
None of the greatest guitarists ever read tabs. In Hendrix day they didnt even have them but he did ok. You dont become a great musician from reading tabs.
@simonate1 There will always be great musicians and always be new techniques and ways in which we read or learn music. As you said, there was not tabs then. Do you think now everyone who does learn from tabs and then opens up new ideas as to hand placements and chord placements is not going to become a great musician in the future? We all start somewhere....
@TheRatt27 If the freaking PRESIDENT can't deliver a two minute statement without reading it from a teleprompter, why do YOU have to get all bent out of shape about a guitarist wanting to learn from tab? Sheesh!
I think maybe you trip up one-legged guys walking with crutches, saying, "dude, get a chair. If God wanted you to be walking he wouldn't have taken your other leg."
Sir I think the president has a lot more on his mind to clutter up remembering a speech than someone browsing youtube has to clutter up learning to solo.
@Leutchik i just saying that god gave u both legs still are to lazy to learn to run or jump.anything else is excuses.but its ok its up to u if u wanna learn.
BB King would do this better (obviously). But it feels like he's rushing it. I think he's nervous. Should've left more space between the licks or just play a bit slower.
Fuck everyone against tabs.... why can't someone who hasn't been playing for too long just learn the easy way and not spend like 74 fucking years learning by ear.......
@TickleTheMonster ur never gunna get better if ur ear sucks. the more u practice learning stuff like that the faster youll be able to learn it. and it will take about 3 times watching it. plus you can take ur favorite licks from it and put ur own twist on em
@TickleTheMonster 1st cause the "74 fucking years learning" will make u much much better musicians.2n if u get used to tabs, that will make u worse musician and also u will depend on tabs to play some songs, and when u find some hard songs u really like but there is no tabs, then u would wish u had practiced a little bit your ears.ppl on 70"s or 80's didn't had tabs and music books were too rare enough though u can see that guitarists on 80's 70's are 100 times better than any guitarist nowadays
finally, a solid player, modest introduction, great tone, simple progression, and some jazz thrown in with the blues. I love the embellishments, good work!
Thanks Goryllo - just wasted my time checking out Lorenzo BC to humour you - give him another few years and see if he can develop any tone, taste and time, though I doubt it - in the meantime, my money's on Mr Carlton.

Yeah learn Texas Flood. But don't just copy it....utilize the techniques, see what he is doing and then start doing it at different places on the board.
I don't think so, Blues doesn't mean you're musically stupid. With all due respect, you should get your facts straight before you talk with the bigger people. Blues and Jazz are not the same, they may be somewhat related but that's just about it.
There's no definitive point 'til you get to dixieland. And most things before that that were basic and only involved 1-4-5 chords. The exceptions were considered the roots of jazz.
I'm not knocking this...so don't all beat me up, please. But...it is virtually all pentatonics, the basic 'chord boxes' that rock guitarists use. There's virtually no jazz here...there are LOADS of different scales that a jazz guitarist would use over a 12-bar blues. It's kind of a shame that it's not a bit more adventurous - although it is really nice and tasteful.
How do you get that beautiful jazz sound on an electric guitar which is not a jazz guitar? I see it's on the neck pick-up, but how do you set the amplifier things?
