This is when Levi's were made with acid in them, and you would trip just wearing them. Then they started washing all the acid out in the 80's with the "Acid Washed" Levi's. Levi's have never been as good since.
funny commercial sure, but think of it this way. 30 yrs from now, kids will be laughing at your clothes and even YOU will be saying "i don't believe we actually wore that crap."
The Man in this Video and the Magic Voice is none other than Ken Nordine. (who still does a radio show in Chicago) I e-mailed a few years ago looking for this very video.
The animation was done by a friend of his in San Francisco. If time travel were possible, I'd be back in the 70s wearing those coll funky clothes and enjoying the free love.
Yeah that would be cool if they made a tv series based on this commercial where Ken could wonder from town to town solving and stopping crime by changing everybodys attire with his psychedelic levis powers.I could see this coming on right after Quincy.
Wow that ad couldn't get more 70's. Psychedelic effects, evil deadpan narration, and pants that would put Elton John to shame made from the world's itchiest fibers. Thank you Levis.
Masterfully subversive! Nowadays, the drugs the corporations try to sell you are all terrible and soul-numbing. And doesn't that man look like Timothy Leary? Tune in, turn on...and buy some Levi's.

501's weren't popular in the seventies--- they have tapered legs, not the flared bell bottoms being advertised in this commerical...
