Tha sloka is the eight anuvaka or Sri rudhram...starts with Nama Somaya cha....This 8'th anuvaka is very special in Rudhram because it has " nama shivaya cha" in it...this namashiva cha is supposed to be the fulcrum of vedhas...the exact centre point of vedhas....

We know them in english as conscious mind, sub-conscious mind and the unconscious mind. Enlightenment is beyond these 3 states. These 3 states decides your actions of the present janma.

Mardin or marda is the name of shiva when he 's the destroyer in sanskrit, that's my grand father telling. he was a "karuppu mandram swamy", rudra is the name used by brahman.

hindouist call the same god differently, the hight cast call him "shiva or rudram". When we sacrify a goat for shiva, we don't say shivain the incantation, we say "mardin, virapatrin, agorapatrin"... it's difficult to me to say it in english,
