Well i'm not an astronomer, i'm not even have an telescope, im from DR and moved to Chicago on november 2008, i'm methaphisician and universe lover, last year 2009 specially at summer clear night that bright star it was there. my balcony face west and i always sit to watch the sky, this year since spring i been noticing that new star gets bigger than any others. i belive the we don't know the truth about it do good, live in peace with every living form, and get ready. next year will be visible

I'm in Vegas, and so many lights here make it hard to see stars. I can literally count the amount of stars in the sky that I can see. What I want to know is, when will it be next to the moon again? I would like to see it. I know it probably is visible any night. But I don't want to get confused. Thanks.

Tomorrow (7/31/2010) the Moon will be in conjunction with Jupiter, look east after midnight for the rest of the night.

On the 8/13/2010, the Moon will be in conjunction with Venus, Saturn and Mars, Mercury will be visible closer to the Sun Just after sunset. 5 celestial bodies at a glance!

Look west at sunset or just after it for a short time, they all will be setting soon after the Sun sets.

It is true, I am from Quebec in Canada and every night it is right in my face and I am obsessed about it!It look more like a Big Big Big star from here...nothing as the usual one!every night here for two hours not more but back for morning... even when it is cloudy, and no body worry about it or even try to know what is it and WHAT THE FUCK, Im now becoming crazy about it, every where in the world people can say they see it and its not usual, but nothing more no body give a fuck about it..WTF!

@Duckyseventy3 Venus has NOT stopped orbiting! It is no even stationary, it will be on October 2010.

It is getting brighter, but I don't think you can appreciate that. It looks brighter to you because every day is a little more far from the Sun and you see it in a darker sky.

On August 10 2010 there will be a great conjunction between Venus, Mars and Saturn just because they orbit in a regular and predictable way.

I Live in northern Illinois and The star that I see In the Western sky at sunset every night is by itself with no moon in the sky, and definitely no moon near it. It's big and it's bright if you think it's somthing other than what you are told just watch it.

It circles the Earth every 21 days. Conjunctions like in the video only last for one day.

In these days Venus appears after sunset, like in this old video.

Venus is VERY bright, if you see just ONE bright object to the west it MUST be Venus.

Look at it next week, on 06/15/2010 the Moon and Venus will be very close.

I looked in the Astronomy program "Red Shift 4" on 4-25-2010, at 9:00PM

in Dallas, Texas and the direction is at 287 degree (North West), and the program showed that the planet Venus is there.

how long is venus supposto be in the same area anyway???? It has been there since June 08----its moved to north about 3 inches in 9 months....1 year on Venus---is about 280 some odd days...... It is weird .............

Every 2 years we get the Mars hoax (that it will appear to be twice the size of the full moon ect...) And every year we seem to get the people who think Venus is a bright star, nibiru or something else. I am shocked at how little most people understand about the skies above them. Good video!

Good video. The thing is, Stellarium comes from the same ppl who tells us 9/11 was made by an invisible organisation named AlCaeda, that Nasa exists to provide the Holy Truth about space and that our world governments are here to protect us from all evil.

I for one suspect of ALL info that comes "oficially" from the government. If something was indeed coming our way, judging for the last 100 years of world goverment... do you really believe they would tell us?

Venus, seen by telescope, look like always looked.

Rules to calculate Venus position in "stellarium" and "cartes du ciel" are very old, not very different from what the Maya used.

The world is full of amateur astronomers that would IMMEDIATELY spot ANY anomaly of such a size.

I think to understand your mistake.

Venus will not fade significantly, but from about 25/03/2009 it will be too close to the Sun (aligned to the Sun) to be seen. Then, after another couple of weeks Venus will be visible in the morning, having passed in front of the Sun.
