Oh and my Christmas Wish:(even though it would have to happen after Christmas), I would LOVE to see Alex Ovechkin in the Blue and White. That would be AWESOME. I think he'll stay in Washington but a guy can dream right?

I'd die of happiness for Ovechkin on my team. BUT, Ovechkin will have a HUGE impact on the trade deadline. Why? Washington's going to have to pay him $10mill a season, no less. They have 14mil cap space but they're poor. If I wanna make Ovechkin an offer sheet, I need to be able to ensure I have cap space. Not many teams have $10m free. This year's trade deadline may become a selling BONANZA. Although with an offer sheet, the team has to give up (for that price) 4 1st round picks.

I swear it's true. Pittsburgh has 12.6. But anyway, Sundin's a UFA, I know Steen's an RFA, I think Wellwood is, too and maybe Stajan. Believe it or not, the player we have signed for the longest term: Blake. Here's something I noticed though. Kulemin the Russian prospect is slated to make like 1.3mil or something. So SOMEBODY has to go, because the Leafs don't have that room. They need to free up about 800,000. I got 1 word for the Leafs if they're not at LEAST in 8th by playoff time: sell.

Not much coming the leafs way if they do trade Raycroft. I'd say some draft picks maybe. They don't have a lot of cap space. Be nice to see some draft picks coming BACK to us anyway after trading them all away year after year! And Who reffed the games on Tuesday for Caolina vs Toronto?  THEY are jerks. I looked up the numbers. Correct me if this is wrong. Spending 49,920,475 / Wiggle Room 579,945

So the Leafs are predicted to, by the end of the year, have only 579,945 of cap space. They may have more after waiving Battaglia, but not much. THe Leafs would be better off trading Raycroft for a pick or two, or maybe a prospect. Unless the Leafs can run a multi-player deal, those rumors about one of Tampa's big 3 are toast. If anyone takes Razor, it'll be Pittsburgh.

Sudin was practically raped by 2 of them and yet no call. 2) Poni: my heart goes to the guy but man, you have got to sink that shot, especially when Antropov took the patiencd to tee it up for you.

Why did Patt Quinn live and die by Aki Berg for a while? Quinn saw something in Berg we didn't, and clearly Maurice sees something in Wozniewski that we don't (to a lesser extent of course). My biggest worry last night was that Kubina was absolutely suckin' wind by the end of the game. Sure he played great for the most part, but there was NOTHING left in the tank.

I can't explain how mad I was watching that game. It was bad enough that we blew it with 1:30 left when Toskala deserved the shut-out for sure. But the 2 non calls, frist the trip on Pony, and then whoever piggy backed Sundin on the 2 on 1. BOTH followed by calls the other way. Should have been a 2-0 W. And I know what you mean about calling out the refs, no one listens but if you saw it, you can't deny it. Good reports, keep em coming.

Yes! There was a piggy-back on Sundin, too. There were at LEAST 2 non-calls in overtime ALONE. I was pretty upset. And I don't like the overtime rule where if you take 2 penalties, you lose a guy and your opponent gains a guy. There was about 3:20 left in the game! It should have been a 3:20 second 4-on-3. In regulation time when you take three consecutive penalties they don't give you an extra player for the 6-on-3. It's a stupid rule.

That officiating last night was pathetic. I get Bell Centre Ice, and I see that shit all the time in those southern market teams. I think the NHL is trying to woo new fans.

What Poni did would get you benched in peewee hockey, he looked so lazy on the play.

In all fairness to him though the Leafs should have been ahead 5 - 0 at that point. John Graeham is a TERRIBLE goalie, who lets out the fattest rebounds in the entire league.
