If the jet engine is driving the car in the same way they drive airplanes then they are useless. If the engine is somehow connected to the driveshaft then I get it, but otherwise it's just for show?

It's the jet that is pushing the car forward, not the rear tires, right? And when you brake, the weight is transfered forward, so again the rear tires don't need to be that big. I still don't get it.
