i think the biggest reason rorscach was unintentionally the most popular character in the book was, along with his brutal badassery and awesome costume, his extremely stubborn moral integrity. even if its not for the best, he sticks to his beliefs with vicious loyalty.

The movie is SO MUCH more gory/violent/sexual/dark than the book. I would not recommend this movie to anyone under 17. As for the book, I would say its suitable for people 14 and older.

Jackie Earle Haley is just awesome, I mean like seriously, who else could be Rorschach AND FREDDY KRUEGER. 8D! The only reason the new Nightmare On Elmstreet is any good is because He's in it (and it's a nightmare on elm street movie.........).. Rorschach is actualy based off an existing DC character The Question. Difference is The Questions mask just made it look like he had no face, he doesn't kill people, and is only interested in uncovering government conspiracies.

During one comic The Question is reading Watchmen, and tries to imitate Rorschach but just get's his ass handed to him.

Movie was a terrible, monstrous, misinterpreted adaptation of the book, but nonetheless I really enjoyed Rorschach. Wasn't true to the novel, but liked him anyway (it's probably J.E.H. shining through). Also, I love the acting of the "you killed my dogs, man!" guy and the boiling-oil-to-face guy. His oily screaming was brilliantly executed. :D

In the comic, Rorschach locks the guy's arm with handcuffs. He then lights the house on fire and gives the guy a knife. He tells the guy he'll have to cut off his arm to survive. The child killer dies in the fire.

They should have kept the scene like in the comic because, as many others agree, instant death with a knife was too easy a punishment.

Anyway, know you know where the movie SAW got it's idea from =)
