  • where are the vids from new Project ? :)

  • Sweet job! Keep goin

  • Sweet gotta love supra

  • Comment removed

  • Hi i was planning on swaping a 2jzgte into a us spec n/a. was wondering how hard it was and how long it took, what harness and ecu did you end up using for the car and do you think it would be to much for 3 17 year old kids to figure out?

  • @IEcILiiPZx Not sure on how hard it is for a US spec supra, image most of the info is on supraforumsDOTcom Mine took almost a year I think, was only because I took my time and had a budget. Used genuine VVTi 2JZ harness and stock ECU from supra. If your handu with tools, wiring diagrams and can get hold of all the parts you need then should be able to do it. I always say buy a twin turbo straight up unless lots of money put into car.

  • @IEcILiiPZx solve your isue get an after market ecu

  • iis it for the better or worse

  • how much does its cost to go na to single turbo in aus?

  • how much does its cost to go na to single turbo?

  • so better idea to get the vvti rather than the normal 2jzgte

  • what is the diffrence between the normal 2jzgte and the 2jzgte vvti?

  • @airsoftboy14 VVTi, intake, more torque so better reponse, pretty much just the electronics and the head, the block is the same, very similar to the non-vvti 2jz, there are small diffferences.

  • @dustinp100 Don't forget that 'Wikipedia' also states that the VVTI version has '5' BHP more than the standard 2JZ....The Germans also finalized the design too (Wikipedia) That's why I stuck one in my Bimmer,lol...Great job by the way!

  • @airsoftboy14 valve timing.....that is the difference

  • @airsoftboy14 VVTi has variable valve timing making it more efficient with a slight boost in power.

  • gj on the conversion

  • Thanks for everyones comments and viewing, this is now over 100,000 views! Wasn't expecting that as I don't get online much and was made for fun and to show mates what I did. So glad everyone enjoys it. New vids and updates coming soon....Been way too long without driving the new beast!

  • great choice on wheels

  • @smccoy311281 Cheers mate, they have now changed to CCW SP500's

  • @dustinp100 Yeah man just overall what a great job start to finish. You've given me car envy for sure! I envy thy neighbors supra!

  • facelift SZ-R so presumably came with the V161 box? This is the route i'm going to go down, get a SZ-R with the 6spd and then buy a GTE engine and rebuild it and drop it in ;)

  • Now a day, people pick SUV over Sport car.

If for me between this Supra and Landcruise..I will pick the truck, so I do not need to baby it and I can go anywhere without worry (STUCK) and comfort and roomy+more on the list (This is my opinion)

  • Love the choice in music. Nowhere to hide :)

  • its came with the GETRAG Transmission? Sweet :D

  • That first picture looks incredible

  • this car has so much swagger..to bad they cost a fortune to buy and insure...

  • Props on a clean and welldone swap

  • if a supra could be a sleeper , you succeeded.

  • The sort of project that will cost you lots of beer :) Did you have much fun wiring up?

  • @SorsanSuuriAfro Yeah was a bit of research and planning with wiring, hard finding proper vvti diagrams. But in the end got it all sorted after drinking plenty of beer :)

  • @dustinp100 wait i wanna do a swap too but what do you do with the stock engine after the swap cus i dont no if too many people want to buy it or did you just sell the parts

  • these cars are so u.g.l.y - "soarer" for the win. Non the less Congrats with the swap.

  • NICE WORK

  • Man, that's sweet! And great job on the vid, covered the steps really well and showed detail. Great stuff. If I'm reading that dyno right, that's only puttin down ~350 hp. How big was that increase over stock? Seems like a lotta work for the turbo to leave the build so mild...

  • @garrett2341243 Yeah 350hp is good for a jap spec TT, much better than the NA which was only around 180hp, so 170hp increase was almost double the power. Wish I had of put a single turbo on at the time as it would been easier, but didn't have the cash to do it properly. I'm now doing a single turbo as I have the time and money to to it correctly.

  • fuckkkkk i wanna do that to my supra... i gotta n/a :(

  • nice man, looking great!

  • why didnt you just keep the 2jzge and upgrade it to turbo and all other neccessary parts? and another question how much did that supra put you down when you first got it? i am looking for one but everyone wants waaaay too much for them even when they have a lot of miles on them. so i was looking at importing one from japan.

  • @stekrirade Because it would be limited to 9psi with the 2jzge without doing major work to the engine/compression ratio etc, not a huge fan of NA-T and I couldn't be bothered doing things half arsed. Plus got the engine cheap and has plenty of potential with boost/power. 4 years ago I paid 21k for late model SZR which was great price, these days you can pick up a TT for that in Australia.

  • @dustinp100

wow 21k for a right hand drive? i hate to break it to ya but my cousin just bought a 94 tt rhd for 10500 and it only had 17000km on it... and it was anthrecite lmao

  • @90talonturbo In Australian dollars, not US and over 4 years ago. As I said in my original post, times have changed. So many shitty early model supras clogging up the market that sell really cheap. Hard to find quality supra these days. I wouldn't have a clue about the US market.

  • @dustinp100 All you need is a head gasket and you can boost up to ~20psi, its not really a half assed way of doing it either, you pretty much took out the same engine you put in.

  • @dustinp100 buy this man a beer folks. from a mechanic in the making myself I hope to have the space and time to build up a 2jz gte ;) im aiming for 600hp at around 25psi im trying to decide if i should get the supra to go with it or choose a different roller.

  • @stekrirade more expensive to get decent power out of the GE. Much more benifical to do the switch.

GREAT PROJECT MAN!! im wanting to do the same! :D

  • lol u should play this song when ur about to eat up a car in ur supra

Where u gonna hide? no where!

  • @300zx93nismo1 haha! Yeah good idea :)

  • would i be called a ricer if i put a spoiler and bodykits on a supra with a 2jz GE ?

  • @sgntslaugh73r Not sure, depends on what type of kit and spoiler, but what's the point on a NA supra that doesn't need downforce? Personally I only believe in functional body parts, neat / stockish looks and power before looks :) But that's my opinion, your car so your choice.

  • @sgntslaugh73r you know the real meaning of ricer means japenese speed car not the other meaning where everyone thinks your car looks retarted

  • @meatbag007 lol realy all along ive thaught a ricer is someone that drives a RICE vehicle : )

  • @sgntslaugh73r just helping yea out i always look out for the slow ones ;)

  • @sgntslaugh73r no it would be callws bad ass

  • *sigh* i wish i had 2jzgte for my 87 Supra...Even a 7mgte would be nice but i have the 7mge. ive done a Paint job and and custom piping on my mk3, its sounds like muscle now.

i have a question How much dose someone invest to do a swap like this? 2000$? 5000$? 10000$? im seriously thinking about buying this 1jzgte and nothing fancy

  • @Sonicku If you love your MKIII to then do a conversion, but if not maybe look for a MKIII with a 1JZ already, not sure if your from AU or US but there should be a few JZA70's around :) Not sure on conversion costs for you but maybe $5000+ depending on where your source parts and who does the work etc

  • Now time for a big single conversion

  • @93supra2jz Already done :) But not quite finished yet, need fuel system and ECU.

  • @dustinp100 Awesome. Go with the AEM V2!!

  • fucken oath! this on supraforums?? how much did it cost you for the SZ-R?

  • @Alpin3SS Yeah on supraforums AU and US, conversion thread is only on AU. Cost me around $21k for SZR around 3+ years ago with 56000km on the clock in almost stock condition.

  • @dustinp100 sounds about right...looks unreal!

  • was it an automatic too???

  • @a71jaS No was already 6 speed v161 getrag

  • woot, nice ausi supra. i have a '93 myself. love these cars. nice job man!

  • love the mk4 body and the new 2jzgte but come on right hand drive how you gotna eat burgerking????

  • @PAOHMONGYANG Easy, I live in Australia where we drive on the left hand side of the road :)

  • You never changed the rear end of the car..

  • sick supra total cost of everything?

  • Silly question but you mention thanks to Dave at the end and Curtis. What are their forum nicks?

  • @iwantablackrz 'cos it cant be me and I don't know who else. lol. I wish Curtis kept his car. :(

Looks awesome Dustin. Only just stumbled across this vid now. You'll have to do a big single vid now. ;)

  • @iwantablackrz Hey Dave - Was JZA70 Limited, he was friends with Curtis. Wish Curtis he kept his car too, such a nice example! Single video will go up once it's built and dyno'd and dragged :)

  • how much did this build cost and how much time do you have in it.

  • very nice build, great video of the whole project!

  • what is song?please

  • hey guys! Looking at putting a turbo on to my car, i have a 2jz80! is it better just to change the engine to a GTE??? Or slap a turbo on to my engine??? Anyone???

  • @romakichakov it's said that a turbo install can be done for less then 7k, if you can do stuff yourself. But you do need a thicker headgasket to lower the compression a bit, new head studs and arp bolts, aswell as an aftermarket ecu and all the tubo goodies :). Lots of readings on the net/ Na-t supra website.

  • moonstone ftw!

  • nice build thread

  • where do you even buy a 2jz?

  • buy a lexus sc300 with 2jz

  • wow

  • on ebay theres lots of them in there

  • except theyre all blown or beaten the piss out of on ebay. NEVER buy an engine from ebay.

  • on a estimate how much did all the parts cost you?? im planning on gettin a supra pretty damn soon

  • how much did it cost u? with the sr-z supra???

  • BEAUTIFUL!!! Just makes me wish I had one!

  • i know how you feal.. i yust want one!!!!

  • Nice car,

    Supra FTW

  • Great build up , Im also a member of the SF (romir123)

    best forum online

  • who helped you to do all this?

  • Did it all myself, with the help of the supraforums community and some mates for the heavy lifting (putting engine in).

  • how did u learn lol

  • how long did it take u to do all this

  • Around 8 months it took to complete I think, probably a 1 month's work though, most of the time was waiting for parts from a dodgy seller. (5 months for the engine to arrive)

  • i thought youre in NSW! i saw your rims are for sale right?

  • Don't live in VIC anymore, yes rims are for sale, feel free to buy them!

  • hey just wondering why it only made 135kw when it was n/a. arent they supposed to make around 168kw?

  • @Jonoc123

That's 135rwkw (At the rear wheels), 168kw is from stock engine. Most stock NA's I seen pulled around 120rwkw.

  • oh ok so the 168kw is at the crank? thanks bro

  • great swap mate well done, i also have done a supra swap,, 7mge-1jzgte and was very hard glad u stuck it out

  • Love the pics and the music. Shit i wish i had a supra.

  • For everyone asking about the music it's off hard NRG vol8, cd 1 mixed by Nik Fish, think it's track 2 and 3, do a search on the album to get the track names :)

  • mmm, i like it. And for the ones who asked for the massive beat on the vid, its TnT aka Technoboy ´n´ Tuneboy - Double dutch darkies

  • You might want to double check that, I'm no expert on it all but it came off my hard nrg vol 8 cd mixed by Nik Fish, track 2 and 3

  • nah, checked it out on the tube and was the same beat :) but who knows, might have 2 names?

  • ah yes ofc tho, i got it on diff CD, its on mah Hardbass Vol 17. so same beat but diff CDs :)

  • Congrats man! Cant find a clean RZ so might have to do the same.. how much you reckon shop would charge for the swap? Oh and you should get the 4 pot fronts, ring Rutherford Toyota in NZ I think they are the cheapest cost $800 for the pair with discs for my soarer.

  • Hey mate, think most workshops would charge 5-10k depending on what they do and what you supply parts wise. I actually brought the 4/2 pots from Rutherford Toyota in NZ a few months ago :) They are cheap!

  • sick man must have been fun :D

    btw whats the song

  • Check my latest comments

  • Nice work man!

  • love it mate

  • Whats the name of the song used in this video ?

  • Check my latest comments

  • hey mate nice swap..m also from canberra and i am interested in similar project..can you please message me the totalcost of this complete swap, that is ofcourse after i have purchased a GE supra...cuz i heard the labour charges and stuff would be a pain !!

  • Hey mate, thanks for the comments. Check out supraforums and my project thread, has break down of all the costs involved, I'd recommend you buy a TT if you don't have a supra, lot easier.

  • Thanks mate ! Youre last sentence sums it all up, i was initially thinking that this project would be useful only in the case if after completion its gonna cost yes lesser than TT.

And nice porject mate...Takes lot of effort !!! Cheers mate..

  • Hey my man from South Africa I like the work you done and I like your car,the old mags wich were on the car on the bigining of the video I liked more, but the new ones is also cool.Good Luck with the speedfines.

  • Sorry for all the late replies and thanks for all the comments on the video guys/girls. I've tried my best to reply to most of you.

  • really nice project :D im currently converting my n/a aerotop to a single turbo conversion. Good work !!!! like the stock look aswell.

  • Thanks mate, good luck with the conversion.

  • wow man, really respect job, congrats, you have an amazing car, keep it up! ;)

  • Thanks mate.

  • 1. your lucky

    2. im jelous

    3. your lucky

    4. im fucken jelous!!!

    5. where you live? ;) jk

i like the set up. nice job

  • Thanks mate, I put a lot of hard work into this! Makes it more rewarding when I did all the work myself on a limited budget, people look at me and think I'm a rich kid but that's far from the truth!

  • love the stock look .Did you change Diff as well?

  • Thanks mate,

I kept the torsen diff, the SZR came with a A02B diff, which is the same as the TT auto diff, I think the ratio is a little short in 1st and 2nd, but I don't mind it.

  • did you keep the same 5 spd tranny or did you get the 6sp getrag?

  • I always had a 6 speed getrag v161 as it started of as a SZR (not SZ with 5 speed w-58).

  • veramente stupenda ottimo lavoro !!!! goooooood

  • lol nice vid

  • Hi! please tell me please how have you changed original SZ wiring (or give a link ;) ). What ECU do you use, and can I use original Aristo ECU, if I have A\T SZ (all of Aristo's are A\T). Also, I am interesting in TRC. Do you have TRC working?

  • Hey mate,

Check out supraforums*dot*com*dot*au my supra project thread is under the projects section. (98SZR username) Please don't send me PM's. I used a Supra RZ loom and ECU, I'm not using TRAC as I don't have an advanced ABS ECU, car works without it fine, no errors. You will want to use the supra ECU and loom if you can, otherwise custom wire the loom to fit supra ECU.

  • your supra is boss.... i have a 98 quicksilver and wanted to know if you thought it was easier to just swap motors than turbo the vvti?

  • Hey mate,

I'd get a TT rather than swapping! But if you have to keep the car than do a conversion, although the US guys seem to be doing well using a single turbo on NA's with the appropriate mods. Depends where you live I guess.

  • Thats not bad! What extra parts did you have to install! And what about the brakes and that, how are they handling?

  • Extra parts I had to install were stock things like, afm, ecu, loom etc I also installed aftermarket FMIC, clucth and flywheel and a few other goodies!

  • Nice work!!! How much did the engine cost ya!

  • Round $3k AU second hand with 60,000km's on it.

  • i cant remember the name of the song but i think its done by dark by design

  • why did u chose the vvti 2j?, have heard nothing but bad things.

  • It's exactly the same as the non vvti apart from the head (obviously) and the ECU. It's probably better! lol. The only bad thing would be aftermarket head/ecu upgrades are more difficult.

  • Amazing car :D

    Props on the songs too

I noticed your Supra was a Right Hand drive.

Did you import it, and for how much?

  • I live in Australia :)

  • i think i wanna live in australia 2 seems like u see supras a lot

  • wtf is the song title????

  • Rumors that the new Toyota will start to feature the NEW CYCLONE MAGNETIC ENGINE = pure power AND GAS FREE!

Hope thats true for the new SUPRA!

  • whats the song title?

  • How much did this swap cost? I'm planning on doing the same to my supra

  • Round 8k AU doing all the work myself, that includes aftermarket parts.

  • what sound?

  • do u kno how u can get a nice COLORFUL dashboard

  • love seeing fellow supra owners tune their supras...nice supra...but grey's not the way 2 go man haha

  • Thanks mate, grey is the way! Must be a RSP or black supra owner :)

  • how much horse power u have now...im planning to get a supra and put 1000hp

  • Have 350hp now, aiming for 800hp+ at the rears. I'd suggest you get a supra first and get used to the power, also I'd suggest go in a few different supras to get the feel for it. 1000hp is a lot of power, especially on the street, even 500hp is!

  • lmao i see wat ur sayin...i kno couple guys here...even tho im 14 they let me drive there 300hp or more cars at some tracks and at my friends house he has a farm 3 miles wide i drove to 140mph there manual and 452 hp...i got used to it lol

  • NO need 2 lie

  • no need 2 lie bout i aint lying

  • also...when i get my supra ill b lik 17 or 18 if i get it...im gonna put body kits and paint it b4 anytin den until i get enough money nd until after i put body accessories ill b lik 20 nd i will kno the car a lot by then i think i will b able to put all the horse power lil by lil

  • Cool Vid....fucking annoying song

  • Thanks, guess can't please everyone with music :)

  • cheers and the vid is great

  • Thanks :)

  • wats the difference between 2JZGE - 2JZGTE

  • i think its the 2jzgte has a turbo and the other doesnt

  • Dude nice swap I have aristo pumped to 1200 whp the VVI engine has a nice color its definitly a beutiful supra I just have the older model 2JZ but I admire the swap vids. You should reallly get some driving pics or some race pics that would be nice.

  • Thanks mate, 1200whp would be a handful, got it down the 1/4 mile yet? Looking to get some driving vids, walk arounds before it goes single turbo.

  • 2JZ-GTE ^^^^^^

    5***** :)))

  • 2JZ-GTE VVT-i Japanes ???

    209 kw / 284 hp ???

  • nevermind I shoulda just let the video finish... I see the single at the end.. Sorry

  • lol! Yes single turbo coming. I agree that a few months and your over the stock twins, you must be a supra owner :) lol Thanks for the comments
