  • Owen Hart in my opinion is in the list of the top 10 WRESTLERS of all time...not sports entertainer shit they have now...fuck Cena

  • Wow, the rock used to have such a broad moveset.

  • Even though Bret is supposed to act like he's not impressed with rocky maivia, he's probably studying him b/c it was him that helped lobby to bring in Rocky to the wwe. Bulldog probably liked him too but did a crummy job acting like a heel then he was acting more like a goof.

  • Bulldogs reaction.

  • seems to have been an uncoined manuever at that point in his career. because the fans hardly react at all to that rock bottom. the announcer had more to say about the few seconds than anybody else.

  • R.I.P Owen

  • If you ever want to see evidence of WWF employees abusing steroids just look at them when they came into the company, then look at their body a couple years later

  • the future co-leaders of The Nation in a classic

  • shit they said stone cold was the first to kick out of a rock bottom O.O

  • There was a three count @3:33

  • @beertits4me no that first bump was the ref hitting the ground to begin counting

  • LOL at Davey Boy's reaction after Owen wins

  • This match was better than the WM27 main event

  • @EntertainWorld i remember this storyline was one of the best wwe ever had. so many belts changed hands in 1-2 episodes

  • epic

  • Back when being the Intercontinental Champion actually meant something...

  • wwf has never been the same without Bret Hart,Owen hart, shawn micheals, stone cold, the rock Wrestling lost that sparkle it once had Wrestling got crap after wrestlemania 20 and that was the first shit wrestlemania,

  • lol @ the rock's moustache. Also, fuck i miss the old, huge titantrons !

  • who wouldve thought The Rock will be this BIG

  • British Bulldog and Bret Hart have too much out of the ring respect for Rocky, notice Bulldog was smirking though trying to boo Rocky by being a heel. Bret personally recruited Rocky, I think he was scouting and observing his in ring action.

  • at 8:07. that almost looked like a Rock Bottom.

  • @jayNicks10 It is. But it was a regular move he used. He didn't use it as a finisher until later on in his Rock phase.

  • atleast the rock got to 2nd base

  • This was Owen Harts first singles title, this guy could teach The Rock about how to wrestle.

  • Nice pointy nipples Rocky! Good thing he had that surgery to hid his Samoan man boobs!!

  • Most of the kids on The Rocks bandwagon right now probably don't even know who Rocky Maivia is.

  • @Manhitbybus More importantly, most of them don't even know who Owen Hart was. RIP Owen Hart.

  • I really wanted to see the very end of this where Owen runs the belt up and gives it to Bret!

  • And a legend was born..

  • lmao i had that magazine.Got rid of it though :-(

  • Rocky was booed though and chants of rocky sucks! So I liked him too when he went heel! So much better!!

  • cenas lucky he wasnt around this era...he would be gone gone gooooone!

  • Hmm that rocky maivia guy looks like THE ROCK.

  • @StooperStunner

Rocky Maivia (Dwayne Johnson) is The Rock back in his early days. He debut as Rocky Maivia then later goes on to becoming the leader of the Nations of Domination to a henchmen of the Vince McMahon's Corporation then to a tag partner with Mick Foley (Rock 'N' Sock Connection) and to the People's Champ (or the Brahma Bull a.k.a. The Great One if you like to call him that). Later in 1998 or 1999 when got push to go after the WWF title, he shorten his nickname to just The Rock.

  • @blueswan1984 yes i know that fuk sake i was joking.

  • @StooperStunner ur dumb as hell. i supose u think johnny polo looks like raven too. it is him dick breath

  • @JuggaloRLX1 no shit you fukn retard seems to like you can't understand sarcasm.

  • can someone tell me were can i find the match wish the rock and rocky johnson were together

  • @krishsar He came in wrestlemaina 13

  • @Hartebreaker84 thank you

  • was this the time that the rock had the name as rocky maivia?

  • @talose121 no his name isnt rocky maivia in this match. it only says that in the video and thats what they are calling him in the video (sarcasm)

  • 8:07 rock bottom doesnt have much impact before

  • Bulldog looks ripped wow.. Rip

  • talk shit about my country i dont think so you american wanna be

  • These fat american fans chanting owen sucks when he's a fucking technical wrestler and the rock can't even do a sharpshooter properly dwayne johnson sucks ass.

Canadian wrestlers are loads better than the americans who think there better than everyone else america sucks

  • @pornpan96isGay I'm not American, but a wrestler's character determines what moves they can and can't do, look at Dwayne as The Rock and then in this video, I mean he's MUCH better as The Rock overall but it can't be denied he showed off more moves here.

So don't be so damn close minded.

  • @pornpan96isGay ok mr racist

  • Great match !!!!

  • go rocky

  • 1:12 Nice dropkick, Dwayne.

  • Go Owen, RIP man

  • the rock is proof that you can be successful even with gynocomastia

  • The British Bulldog went batshit crazy after Owen won, hilarious! REST IN PEACE, OWEN, WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU!

  • Bret Hart won the Intercontinental Title from Mr. Perfect at SummerSlam August 26th, 1991.

British Bulldog won the Intercontinental Title from Bret Hart at SummerSlam August 29th, 1992.

Owen Hart won the Intercontinental Title for Rocky Maivia aka The Rock at Monday Night Raw April 28th, 1997.

Owen is the only one to not win the I-C Title at a Pay Per View.

  • dwayne johnson is amazing, that's almost completely different performance from later "the rock"... I wish he return for a year to 3 with his real name and give the best retirement set...

  • theres a lot of people commenting that this was when they got into wrestling, and for that, i feel sorry for you all, as this was one of the last good years.

  • That was then..

Now it's the Hart Dynasty vs The Uso Brothers...

  • @TheRansom93 And those are the good teams of today...........

  • Wow, the bulldog is so fucking juiced out there.

    Poor guy.

  • Wish they never would of changed the Intercontinental Title, that version is much better!

  • AWESOME INDIAN DEATHLOCK OH MY GOD!!!

  • Darn, this must have been RIGHT before I started watching WWF. Owen was the IC champ when I started watching. The first thing I saw was Austin beating up Bret Hart in that wheelchair. Pillman died not too long afterward and the first time I saw Rocky was when he came back as a heel.

  • at 8:09, that was the rock bottom.

  • @deadlift1988 I kind of wish the Rock would have used his tornado DDT more often. It was probably his most flashy move.

  • @theboombody .... thats the people's ddt

  • @theboombody shane O'mac hit that DDT in his street fight against Kurt Angle at King of the Ring 2001 and he did it better than rocky

  • @andycf87 Shane's a lot smaller than Rocky. A lot more agile too.

  • R.I.P To the Late Great Owen Hart .

  • YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY FOR OWEN!

  • Kinda sucks how long it took WWF to give owen the belt and his first singles belt at that!

  • i wish these superstars would have battled for wwf championship

  • Epic fight but... Hart's Win doesn't have seans

  • The Harts allways made Wrestling Interesting..

  • I find it funny that while Bulldog is acting all goofy booing him Bret is putting an intense face on since he and Stu helped train him.

  • lol british bulldog after owen won

  • The Rock is The Best !!!

  • 4:00 lol...how hiGh? :P

  • ahaha notice at 8;09 rock's rock bottom can't get it done but years later it becomes way more powerful.

  • love that owen won it cleanly, just like when he beat bret at wmx

  • Comment removed

  • wish I could have seen a match between kurt angle and owen better yet a rivalry would have been awesome

  • @Tmac10t Yeah, it seems like that would have been pretty cool. Owens sharpshooter vs Angle Ankle Lock lol

  • @Heavyweightchampionx yeah my favorite rivalry was angle vs benoit the had some memorable matches would have loved to see angle vs owen I believe a rivalry between those to would have been just as awesome if not better

  • @Tmac10t ... i agree, I always preferred Owen to Bret personally in terms of both maneuvers and personality

  • Two of the best WWE superstars ever. RIP Owen. What King said at 2.33 is so true.

  • @ 8.06 The First Ever Rock Bottom !!!!!

  • bullbog needs to goforadump but he cannot leave bret alone while stone colds around.

  • @SmileyDale2008 is that how you move around when you gotta take a dump?

  • @SpaceHog2099 yeah when bursting lol

  • don't worry people im a the rock fan

but this lose for rocky maivia was good

becuase after this lose the rock came back from a injurt not as rocky maivia but as the rock sadly he was a villian with the nation of domination but later he was a face and turned into THE MOST ELECTRIFYING MAN IN SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT HISTORY :)

  • @iceadil0121 sadly ??? he was great with the Nation. Pissing off Farooq was some of the funniest stuff.... SADLY MY ASS!

  • @ColorsBright oh shutup about my ass.

  • Great match.

  • was bret's wheelchair the result of owen kicking his leg out of his leg?

  • If I remember correctly, Stone Cold put a sharpshooter on him and wouldn't let go as revenge for their submission match

  • good show wwf

  • i love it!

  • lol british bulldog at the end

  • mrtrent, owen wasnt gonna be 'the game' lol... he stated that he was gonna retire within the next year. i agree that his death was much more sad than eddies and benoits, but he wasnt gonna be winnin no world heavyweight title anytime soon.

  • no mrtrent is rite he was gana b a world champion soon

  • Owen hart vs the man

  • at 8:08 was that the rock bottom that i saw

  • i think.

  • yeah. The first one with animal was better

  • Yeah, and Owen kicked out of it!

  • Owen's death is still way more devastating than Benoit's or Eddie's. He was gonna be the Game, he was heading that direction, I could tell. He was supposed to get the push that Tripple H got. Owen would have been a great heavyweight champion. Even better than Bret I think. He has the technical prowess of Bret, but even more agility.

  • I must say i agree with you whole-heartedly. I don't know about him supposing to be the future ' the game but in terms of the push that triple h got i believe that was possible. Ur right about him having the technical prowess of bret with more agility, I think that's why I enjoyed Owen's matches a lil more, benoit being my absolute favorite, but Owen in my top 5 best of all-around all-time wrestler-no gimmicks, no character. RIP Owen Hart. You're still sadly missed

  • I got into wrestling in 2001. I was only 6 years old watching TV-14, but I still loved it.

  • I can't get over the fact that Davey danced like a little girl after Owen won.

  • What an entertaining match. I remember later in the episode of Raw, Austin would get knocked off the stage by Bret Hart when he used one of his crutches and that this was the first episode with black mats outside the ring.

  • LOL the bulldog when owen wins the title...He was so happy...I miss these guys....

  • all technicality has been out of the ring since these three and Benoit checked out...that realy didn't come out right.

Either way,Owen Hart was one of the best technical wrestlers I've ever seen!

  • many year's, good menories, remenber my childhood, see that match

  • yo much acting on wrestling these days

  • this is around the time i got into wwf..damn i miss these days

  • hart foundation were the shit...rip owen

  • great athleticism and talent, and this was only average work for these two.

Does wrestling like this exist anymore?:(

  • few times i see the rock does a dropkick

  • this proves rock was a decent wrestler.

  • wow The Rock doing d'lo brown at 0:41.....

  • little did we know that this man (rocky maivia) would transform into "the rock" and become the most electrifying man in sports entertainment.

  • "Johnson made his debut in the WWF in 1996 under the moniker Rocky Maivia -- combining his father's and grandfather's names -- wrestling under a "goody two-shoes" persona. After some initial popularity, the crowds grew bored of him, chanting "Die Rocky Die" during matches. So in 1997, he rebranded himself as a hectoring, sarcastic villain called The Rock. The persona stuck and soon Johnson rocketed into wrestling superstardom."

  • nice job copying that from wikipedia. lol.

  • Haha... Sorry...the quote was not from Wiki but Yahoo Entertainment News :)

  • lol. It's cool.

  • @bestthinggoing459 ok your point

  • 'Let's see Cena pull off these technical moves Owen does. Cena couldn't hold a candle to Owen, in fact its insulting to Owen's Legacy to be mentioning him in the same sentence as somebody like Cena."

Technical Moves??? You guys do realize that this stuff is FAKE!!! It's dancing. Yes the wrestlers are athletes I give them credit for that but it is not a real competition. It never has been and it never will be. The only reason I watched this video is because I wanted to see "The Rock" as Rocky M

  • im a john cena fan but i admit to everyone hes got no technique at all, owen hart was an amazing wrestler on all fronts, not just as a techincal wrestler, its sad he's gone, but i hope john morrison or evan borne start climbing the ladder

  • lOKK AT THE APLAUSE ROCK GETS NOW AND COMPARE IT TO ABOUT 5 YEARS LATER

  • Let's see Cena pull off these technical moves Owen does. Cena couldn't hold a candle to Owen, in fact its insulting to Owen's Legacy to be mentioning him in the same sentence as somebody like Cena.

  • i 2nd that my friend ;)

  • I miss the Rock man!!!

  • King at 2:33. Word.

  • lol wow they played Bret's music after the win, not Owen's. (owen's tune was better)

  • Its funny how they will join forces a year or so later with Owen joining the Nation and The Rock becoming its leader.

  • the rock and owen were co-leaders of the nation afterwards.

  • don't forget Owen was the black Hart after all.

  • 7:20

nice ass DDT by Rock! He's a better wrestler(wrestling wise) than I thought.

  • Yeah the Rock Bottom at the time wasn't his finisher it was just a trademark move, his finisher was a shoulderbreaker at the time.

  • that shoulder where twitched lol than went into a pin it was also in the no mercy game and wrestlemania 2000 game for nintendo 64

  • or a crossbody ;)

  • owen beat everybody around 97

  • The Rock was widely hated by the fans during his days as Rocky Maivia, now he's like one of the most, if not THE most popular wrestler in history.

  • NOW???? guess is all wrinkled up now and just wishes of wrestling again he is to old

  • Too old? He's only in his mid 30's.

  • yeah but if not for that hate,we would not have the man we have today

  • Owen should have been IC champ for longer and should have been WWF champ

  • This was the sort of time that Rocky was getting his move-set and fighting style set....you can see traces of his style coming through

  • Wow... what a reverse face kick at 8:21

  • Ha, its funny to see The Rock walk to the ring without the crowd going nuts.

  • WTF, Owen no sold a Rock Bottom

  • Owen doesnt have to sell anything, hes the Black Hart

  • It was not known as the "Rock Bottom" at the time. Rock would start using it as a finisher just a few months later.

  • wrestling was best when it was just like this match none of the steel chair shit.

  • owen is the man...i remember when wrestling was cool...hart foundation FOR LIFEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • gotta love the old school wwf stuff

  • at 8:11.."and the Canadian cover"..?

  • i remember this ahhhh

  • Owen was a great wrestler !, we miss you . . . ..

  • God...I still miss Owen.

  • i don,t think this is 1997 this should be 1996 i don,t no

  • Yeah this was April 14, 1997 I remember recording this raw.

  • My bad April 28, 1997.

  • 233 king says the truest statement ever.

  • this match is wicked this is when WWE was actully wrestling.when had these sort matches.
