  • Simply magical...

  • beautiful

  • My six-year-old daughter is learning to play this melody on the guitar. She loves it so much that she wants to keep practicing. I love it too. It is so achingly beautiful it brings tears to my eyes.

  • The first piece of Classical music I learned about in school. In those days USA education was at a high level and included Music classes & culture. That was 1959, I was 11.The name Edvard Grieg was burned into my mind along with this beautiful suite and the names of the movements. It was not a special music school but had a wonderful music teacher. He awakened an appreciation and love for such music for which I remain grateful. When I hear this I'm a boy again full of hope & wonder. hagl Norge

  • grieg along with tchaikvosky my fav composers.

  • lovely calm song! ;)

  • made me cry

  • Beautiful music making. The orchestra is excellent!

  • Coś pięknego :)

  • achingly beautiful--you can really 'see' the sunrise.

  • the oboe soloist is an awesome player. oboe is one of the hardest instruments in human history to get a good tone on.

  • It's almost ironic that this is supposed to accompany the title character awaking up in the heat of a desert, unsure of how he got there. Some scholars have suggested that this is almost sounded acidic to the Norwegian audience in Grieg's time!! You can hear the tension, but it's still so beautiful!!

  • @patricksmusic17 Thanks for that. Very interesting.

  • I woke up to this on the radio this morning. Needless to say the rest of the day was fantastic.

  • wonderful

  • i can see grass, trees, butterflies sun and it's very nice!

  • This is simply beautiful. It always manages to calm me down.

  • Don't touch, just don't touch...everything is fine just the way it is.

  • Super!

  • I love3 the use of notes and sounds to capture the sounds and feelings of daybreak in the morning.

  • This piece is hauntingly beautiful.

  • q hermosa melodia de grieg , te viene a la mente un hermoso amanecer :)

  • Yes!

I've been looking through Google for ages trying to find out what the "morning" song that's always used in cartoons, is. Bingo.

  • I now look forward to tomorrow morning...simply because of the belief instilled in me by hearing this masterful piece.

  • wonderful :)

  • ONe of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written! I can see morning and spring and after the recording it resounds in my head for hours!

  • Peer Gynt Suite 皮爾金

  • Lindissimo. Se fechamos os olhos parece que cenas nos aparecem na mente como um lindo filme. Abençoados todos os compositores. Dizem que os compositores tem canal direto com o Divino. Cada vez mais eu acredito nisto. Linda apresentação. Parabens

  • looooooooove this song

  • ¡maravillosa obra!

  • my favorite ballet

  • the music to which Edward G. Robinson is euthanized in the movie "Soylent Green".

  • sublime; wonderful

  • Peer Gynt is fantasatic.

"Morning" is one of the pieces that I think cannot be fully appreciated until you have heard it live. - that was the case for me anyway. I never used to like it and prefered other melodies from peer gynt. Now however this is one of my favourites!

    Thanks for uploading

  • Excellente interprétation ; cette chanson est sublime

  • I always feel really relaxed whenever I hear this song! it really does feel like morning, but more beauiful - like in fairytales!

  • Agreed it is very beautiful, but I hope your comment is hyperbole. Every morning you wake is infinitely more beautiful than a fairytale. The natural world is as beautiful as it gets. Ever wake up to birds singing at the base of Mt Fuji to see the sun rise? Ever wake up to the sound of the River echoing off the walls of the Grand Canyon?

Just reminding us all that every day is precious and wonderful as is this stunningly beautiful piece of music.

I love Greig's works just as you do!

  • this is truly better than any jonas brothers or miley cyrus. not that i liked them in the first place anyways ;)

  • Morning is so relaxing and peaceful like siting outside an English cottage in the beautiful English countryside.

  • They're really great. The piece is wonderful as well!

  • Their expressions appear to be solely dismantled, but the sound of their melody is purely perfection.

I'd heard it before but i didn't know what it was called until i learned about it in history and looked it up

  • Probably the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard...:)

  • 0:52 - 1:00 gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it.

When i hear this piece, I always have got a forest in my head like it would look like in Peter Pan, you know, with millions of tinkerbells flying around and stuff... its weird but its an unbelievably relaxing image.

I think "Morining" is a miracle.

  • no words, indescribable...

  • Die Morgendämmerung ist ein ganz hervorragender Beitrag von Herrn Grieg. Sie verbreitet Harmonie und Freude auf der ganzen Welt!

  • just so beautiful!

  • lmfao. the oboe players face in the beginning.

    omfg. lol

    beautiful though

  • Excellent

  • Mother Nature just seems to come alive in this piece. Grieg no doubt was a nature lover. Splendid!

  • Good to know someone remembered this film! I remembered it vividly. This was shown with waterfalls, lakes, mountains, meadows and rivers with deer galloping to the old man character before he died. The film was about same period as 'Omega Man' also starred Charleton Heston.

  • i listen to a lot of contemparary music but its so relaxing to come back and listen to this at the end of the day, helps me get by.

  • I can play this on my saxophone. I love it. It's so relaxing. So beautiful!

  • i love this piece this is one of my very favorite pieces of music

  • I came back to this music after watching Fitna, the movie about Islam's Horror by Geert Wilder. He uses The Death of Ase from Peer Gynt in the movie. It's amazing how the music goes from the utter bliss of Morning into the utter Despair of Death of Aae.

  • Griegs beautiful awakening to a fresh new day(morning)!.........dawn has broken, the leafs rustle, flower buds open, butterflies flit into the air, birds sing and stretch there wings and fly majestically over the oceans of our coast lines & valleys!......... a wonderful piece of melodic calm and subtle music of the highest order!

  • if the crescendo at:58 doesnt put goose bumps on you, then you are either totally deaf ,or you have no pulse.one of the most moving melodies i have ever heard

  • Mood of expressiveness and serenity, more than just a landscape to my ears, an innocent morning poem and notice.

  • Love the flute trill at 3:36...:)

  • Wasn't this the beautiful music used in "Soylent Green"

    Awesome-

    just jude

  • Awesome!!

  • seems a bit faster....i dunno maybe it just me but its still awesome!

  • Amazing how a song can make your day, isn't it? This and Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody no.2 (part 2 especially ; search it, it's worth it, trust me ^__^) simply make me put up a smile! Awesome! 5/5!

  • i can imagine listening to it at the summit of some mountain, letting yourself get moved by the majesty of the mountains and Peer Gynt suite.... I am not amountaineer at all, only a passive supporter, yet this comparison seemed for me the best:-D

  • i can imagine listening to it in some base camp of the mountain, letting myself being moved by the majesty of the mountains and the music... or... better, to listen to it at the summit:-P i am not a mountaineer, only a keen fan, therefore i found that comparison:-P

  • written in Leipzig

  • Simply beautiful. x

  • Bravo!

  • Purest melody EVER.

  • Classical music at its very best. Absolutely

Beautiful. It makes me want to go to Yosemite

when the waterfalls are at their peek. How glorious it would be to listen to this with

My i-pod when the sun was coming up over the

Valley and looking at one of the wonderful

Waterfalls they have up there. Yeah, I know.

You're thinking "the sixties were good to him!" Actually it was the seventies, and they

were anything but good to me!

  • No one was actually thinking that

  • what would be even better than an ipod would be having these amazing people playing for you

  • Stresslie58

Although I´m not from US I can easily follow this idea :)

  • I wish all my morning began with this song.

  • My morning does. I've got this song as alarm clock on my cell phone:-)) And that's the firt time I'm satisfied with the alarm:)

  • Truly, inspiring and magnificent. Wonderful tunes, healing for a tired brain. And, all the musicians are wearing glasses. Which is cool.

  • Actually, a lot of them are wearing glasses, but not all of them. Still, inspiring and magnificent says it all. I used to start my morning radio show with this mixed with birds chirping in the background.

  • I love playing this on my cello :]

  • Alle på skolen min fikk en blokkfløyte hver. Dette var en av de første sangene vi lærte. Ble ganske lei av den til slutt, men den er jo ganske fin da...

My son is the lone bass player with the Dearborn Youth Symphony, here in Michigan, and right at that point when the whole symphony comes together........yeah, I too, get a little lump in my throat....:)

  • I get so choked up when the music swells up at 58secs or so.Happens every time I hear it. One of the most beautiful pieces every written.Love it.Timeless.

  • My eighteen year old is a lone bass player in his local civic symphony, and his high school orchestra. The first time I heard the kids play this, I was astounded how it sounded, and like you say, come together at the 58 second mark of this video. It truly is one of the all time classics.
