i just drop the cubes in the water and the goldfish have them directly. is there anything wrong with doing that?
if i need to sink the cubes, then i just press the cube against the glass wall a couple of times and it sinks comfortably for my bottom feeders (like the blackghost) to eat.
That is mostly true but these tubifex worms are specialy cultured in large worm breeding plants where they breed a variety of fish for this reason: to make fish food. So in other words you are correct when you are portraying wild tubifex worms unlike these worms which are havested from their special worm culturing plant
what happens if I accidentally swallow 50g of live tubifex?

I just drop a dry cube in the tank and my goldfishes tear it apart like piranhas. :)

I with you the best of the luck with your new goldfish. Don't over feed, Chage 25 - 30 % of the water weekly and get a good filter. :) have fun.

you shouldnt feed fish tubifex worms they're often harvested from sewage and can give your fish parasites.
