i'm assuming that if you lift your handbrake higher than what you've done in the video, your handbrake will automatically disengage again.

Actually that's not true. Even if I pull it as high as possible, connection is still made and handbrake is on. Spring does not allow to pull it so high, that it would be problem.

@vampire66682 There are so many different kind of handbrakes (each car model has its own) so it's impossible to make perfect tutorial. In this video I just wanted to show, how easily it can be done. Hardest part is find real cars handbrake. You can call your local car repair shop / garage and ask if you can get / buy one. (Hope you can just get it for free from some wreck car). You will need at least adjustable wrench to rip it off, but trust me, it's not rocket science. Then try to figure it...

@soinira2 ... out how to attach it to driving seat. I used 4 screws and wooden board for that. Then you will need suitable spring that is hard enough to make it feel realistic. Watch 0:40 in video how I do it. In same point you can see how I did the electronic connection. "Red box" is actually cheap microswitch and up on the right side you can see small black button witch will make the connection. Now you only need to connect microswitch to g25/G27's(or whatever) circuit board using 2 lead cabel

@soinira2 um, In most developed countries there are places called wrecking yards. Calling a shop is dumb cause they'll charge you the price of a new one PLUS whatever they think their time was worth.

@vampire66682 read your cars manual dumb ass, even if your car has a hand brake its not going to call it a e-brake.. the name emergency brake would cause a lot of dumb people like you to crash, like if your going 60 and need to stop quickly I don't think pulling the e-brake would be the best idea.

@vampire66682 Lulz, its both an emergency brake as well as a parking brake. Watch ANYONE that drives a manual, when they park their car, they put it in neutral, then pull the e-brake all the way up, hence, parking brake

@vampire66682 e-brake stands for emergency brake. When your not 12 and you can drive, try using the "e-brake" in an emergency. I wont visit you in the hospital though. Parking brake is a much better term, because thats its proper use.

Very nice design, Im about to build my own handbrake for my g27.

I do have a question though, when you are applying the hand brake does it give immediate 100% braking force (like just mashing a button) or does it apply the handbrake pressure according to how much pull the lever? Reason I ask is because i plan on using the g27 wheel w/ an ICM F-1 converter for on Forza 3 and the game allows the handbrake to be applied from 0-100% depending on button pressure. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for not telling us how to do any of this. By the way the link in your description doesnt work. Great hand brake, it helps a little to visually see how you have it, but telling us to use our imaginations makes everyone run their face in to a brick wall. How bout you tell us how you did it, and dont tell us to use our imagination. You didnt necessarily use your imagination to set this up, u just figure out a way to do it, and didnt tell us. Sorry, im not trying to be a dick or anything.

Oh, ButtKicker Gamer2 sounds like brilliant idea! Thank's for information, I think I'm gonna buy one! I just could't find yet where to buy (I live in Finland)... I really don't have any favourite car, I just enjoy driving all kind of cars. Maybe I'm not so big fan of powerfull supercars anyway. At this point my favourite games are NFS Shift, Dirt 2, F1 2010 and GT5 Prologue. But when they release GT5, I think I'm gonna forget all of those...
