Amazing arrangement! Mike Chapman is a genius ! :o) this was played with a drum drop (Continuous drum roll through out) Clem played drums to on top of the roll....great lyrics great sound great production...Damn great band...shame the song didnt too well due to the Fauklands..lost publicity..however great vocal...great beat...PLAY LOUD,,,,if you have the 12" Vinyl it really kicks ass !!!! :o)
This is my favorite Blondie song next to "Call Me". I guess it wasn't a hit because the record company didn't really promote it -- they didn't even bother to release it as a single in the U.S.!
This may be one of the few Blondie songs where I actually prefer the instrumental component (no offense at all to the brilliant Goddess of a vocalist). The intro is just too badass.
One of Blondie's best! They were one of the most original with plenty of original selections which only contributed to their longevity. Chris Stein worked masterfully with Deborah Harry. My first encounter was with their performance on SNL (original cast minus Chevy Chase) immediately became a fan. Thanx for posting this.
@shoulderlift Am pleased that I am not the only avid keen fanatic over this song. Years ago when it was first released on 12" I was fortunate enough to gain a copy but as the years roll past I cant find this version anywhere. Even so I have to admit is one of my all time faves too
it was released in uk was there lowest original release chart position the album has so many better tracks to have released to have kept blondie going
it was released in uk got to 39 there lowest original release chart position when you think the album has danceway english boys can i find the right words for your eyes only you wonder why they chose this! i think the hunter gets captured by the game would have been top 10
find it hard to choose so many remind me of teenage yrs happy times love so many mad blondie fan and anyone that knows that brillant band of th time and timeless classics still be dance in my wheel chair when am 80 yrs old
Blimey - Thank you ChrisLovesBlondie for posting this clip. I haven't listened to this kickin track for 27 years!! Yes this record from Blondie's last album "The Hunter" (1982) before they broke up. Then of course Debbie Harry did some great solo songs before the group got back together again.
But it was only released as a single in the U.K., unfortunately. I think if it had been released in the U.S. it would have done better than "Island of Lost Souls", which just barely cracked the top 40.
i don't think it would've done any better because Blondie wasn't happy as a band and it was starting to show. they needed some time apart, but at least we got some kickass solo stuff from Debbie til they reunited.
It's my favorite song of blondie all the time, and i like Especially the extended version.. The hunter is a very great album ,I like Orchild Club and The beat too;)
