Thats the molten skin of a triop. They make a nearly axact clone of themselves, amazing isnt it!

@DekuBub ... Molten means melted by heat. You mean molted. And they don't make an EXACT (not axact) clone of themselves, it's simply their hardened shell, which has become too small for their enlarging bodies. Everything molts when it grows (though it's generally not used in the same way). Triops molt their shells like we shed our skin. Just instead, triops shed their hardened shell in one go, where we shed our skin in small flakes.

sure they are mate...triops are in their eggs for years now so a few dayz more wont make a difference to them...also u got to keep the water warm and in indirect sunlight, u should look closely cause i couldnt see them either the first dayz! Dont worry and good luck :D

they eat the food that come with the kit, if your only geting the eggs, they can eat corn, and fish, and they grow to 6cm

it should say in the booklet they come with what to feed them, and the ones i grow do not bite. i dont think they need to be handled anyway. you can feed them granular fish food, a small piece of grated carrot. triops can eat many things. ive seen someone us a worm, or a piece of lettuce too. they wont grow more than a few inches. good luck!!

FYI, its shedding, AKA, getting rid of its old skin, and it has a new one underneath. Its necessary for growth. Very fun to watch. I tried salvaging a skin once, it fell apart.

They hatched and they are really cool.

Really do what they say , cause if you dont , you mess up . At the begining , the water nedds to be at 5cm from a pickel jar or a plastic container , and after you put it in the container they give you .

I changed my triops in a real aquarium , they seem more active in bigger places. :)
