awesome , Vesuvios the pier , Lowens ... I remember on the wall on the side of Lowens was a graffiti wall mural for Robert Nelson Aka BOSS from 69 troopers which said " Heaven found a Trooper "
Excellent! But, LENTO'S gone!? (I'm a frmr Brooklynite - rsd in Bay Ridge through my 20s, then Nyack, N J now...South Dakota. I recall going there during the 90s when we'd come to visit my mother. The restaurant had changed, but the same name. First stopped in there (regularly) when I was a kid - on our way home from summer visits with my father at Manhattan Beach. Great baked ziti and THE BEST pizza (THIN crust). When did the name change - and is it still Italian food??

The artist, producer, and the David Lind Band did a great job portraying vintage BayRidge. Thanks guys! ...for those looking to taste that great thin crust pizza, there's a Lento's on New Dorp lane in S.I.
I went to P.S.102 from 1957 - 1963. Back then we had a little rhyme: "All the monkeys in the zoo go to PS 102...All the fishes in the bay go to smelly OLA." As first graders back then, we thought that was the coolest poem in the world.
@nickara78 haha. I transfered out of OLA during the beginning of 4th grade (2001) and transferred to PS 102. Best decision ever. The teachers in OLA were HORRIBLE, aside for one or two. I live right across the street from OLA and I was never on time XD
buncha meatheads in bay ridge - come down to sheepshead bay, coney island, bensonhurst - THAT's the brooklyn I knew!
not a bad film, steve. da boy got mad skills, as my son would say. i'm "old school", just keep on keepin on. thanks for posting. love the panels of the bike path past the guinea gangplank. fond memories, indeed.

I remember it as:
All the monkeys in the zoo go to P.S. 102
All the fishes in the bay go to LOVELY O.L.A.
At any rate, I guess it's no longer floating around, because O.L.A. is now Angel's Academy, and that's a whole different rhyme!

The picture of an elderly man on bench looks familiar. Can you tell me where it was taken? May have been my father.

None of the people in the video (except the singer) are based on real-life characters. Any resemblance is pure coincidence.
