  • haha i love you tube debates AND arguments lol but ya the intake and exaust and obviously the bellhousing lmao are diffrent but no bs just put a rwd driveline in my 08 maxima ill have video up soon but damn wat a diffrence used the same pistons and internal bs i could swap over but rwd if u got the money is the way to go straight out of a g35 4 door took the motor trans ds axel and some suspension and other bs farily easy and i should say so my self deffinently sides better the the g35

  • The VQ35DE on a maxima and 350z/g35 are the same except for the mount and tranny bolts, other than that, internally are IDENTICAL, they have the exact same part numbers from the heads to the short block.

  • VQ-35 4 Life

  • Man I love my vq-35 max thank god I sold my 96 ls integra sorry hondas

  • and it's an auto? lolz nice

  • I have a 96 maxima A32 3.0 v6 for a daily driver and it dont go fast what's the go with mine

  • Maxima's are great. I have an 02'. Correct me if im not mistaken...my maxima has the VQ, but doesnt the 95-99 maxima have a variation of the VG30??

  • no they have the vq as well the 3rd gens hade the vg along with the 300zx.

im sure the maxima well be needing a new tranny soon with that turbo

  • yes youre rght the 95-99 has the vg30 and so does the 300zx your model and the 350z have vq35

  • Uhm no.

    let me correct you...

    95-99 have a vq30de

    00-01 has a vq30dek

    02-xx has a vq35de

The 350z's motor is entirely different. first being it's rwd. Secondly it comes in two forms the vq35de and the vq35hr.

  • the drivetrain is different... engine the same

    vq35de = vq35de

  • its the same motor. the HR is just the updated version. its in the '07 and up g35 and 350z. thats why the horsepower went up a lil. all nissan vxxxxx motors are virtually the same. even the VR38dett in the skyline is based off the same architecture as the original Vq30 in my '97 maxima gle

  • Uhm. No. Where did you come up with this.

For one The VQ35DE and The VQ35DE Rev-Up Engine are virtually the same. TO a degree

The VQ35HR is different engine than the VQ35DE the parts that are different in the crank case and in the cylinder head and in the ecu programming. the parts in a DE are not de-tuned from an HR they are different parts altogether you can't "tune" a crankshaft rods and piston

The VR38DETT has nothing of the same components as the VQ. It's an entirely different block

  • ur a fuckin idiot. VR VQ VG, they all are based on the same architecture. u know nothing about nissan apparently.

  • Comment removed

  • No dude, i never once said the internals werent different. They are BASED on the same ARCHITECTURE and PRINCIPLES as the original VQ. not once did i ever say that its the same engine or whater the fuck ur sayin

  • Comment removed

  • god damit blacks are dumb and all the same. Its simply evolutions of the VQ30de for the vq35, vr38, vq37 and so on.

  • Comment removed

  • haha. i owned u and u know it? dude, if u have to state that, then obviously, even u urself are unsure about what ur saying. The nissan V6's are simply evolutions of the previous block and share much in common. now prove me wrong with a book or a credible website.

  • The VG and VQ are NOT based on the same 'architecture' other than they are both V6 Nissan engines. Nissan redeigned the VQ from the ground up, the same way SR20 was a completely new engine in the late 80's. Is the SR20 the same as the FJ20 if they are both 2L 4cyl Nissan engines? no

The VQ has a timing chain, the VG has a timing belt. The bore centre spacings are different, the VQ is all alloy block while VG is an iron block...

  • VR engine is NOTHING like the VQ, its a cut down V8 block from the original engine Nissan wanted for the R35 GTR.

  • bullshit. show me the facts. even wikipedia agrees with me

  • I KNOW the Nissan engineers in Japan responsible for the VQ and the VR blocks. The VR and VK block specs are near identical. Ever bothered to check your facts, because we all know Wikipedia is often recycled info from forum jibberish by so called 'authors' who dont even cite Nissan sources...

However, there is NO reference of the VG to VQ relationship... please link your facts on that and I will link my facts from Nissan Japan ;)

  • Show me the facts that claim the VR is nothing like the VQ. u have yet to prove me wrong on that.

  • @APontiacof455cubes Whoever is saying that is wrong unfortunately. The VR is defiantly based off the VQ

  • @iamhappy46 The VR is based off the VQ. vaguely of course, but it's the same general layout. the VK is based off the as well, the VQ, so yes. the VR and VK are generally speaking near identical, because they are both based off the same block! The mighty VQ! The VQ is one hell of an inspiration. :) The VQ was built from the ground up, as well as the VG, the VG just got outdated with it's cast iron block along with many other things, The VQ was just in general a better build!

  • dude. wikipedia should be the last trusty source you should look up stuff with.

  • @APontiacof455cubes god ur soo dumb liek

  • @ct0386 cats

  • @ct0386 didnt the hr start in o7 i think and the only diff between the max vq and 350 vg is the ratio idk just askin btw 350 vq stock isnt all that now the hr good

  • @dwightbrown16 i meant vq not vg

  • @dwightbrown16 Yup, 04-05 was vq35de, 05 was rev-up model. same thing basically do some research it's to much to explain in 500 characters :P and 07+ was the HR! Typically speaking going from a FWD base to a RWD base even if the blocks are the same the internals typically will be a little different. Just because obviously the maxima engine isn't going to be as 'build' per say, as the Z engine. 500 limit!!

  • @ct0386 ohkay well i love the vq line up in general, didnt you evey get a time at track with the turbo set-up

  • @ct0386 wrong on the 350z. the 5.5 gen maxima, altima, 350z, g35, m35, i35, fx35, murano.....all have or had the same vq35de under the hood. "hr is just the updated version of the "de".

  • @APontiacof455cubes

HR and DE are completely different engines. About 80% of parts are NOT interchangeable.

This goes from the throttle body placement (HR has 2) to the block. You can only swap the pistons. Even the rods won't fit.

  • @APontiacof455cubes And no, The RWD VS FWD VQ35DE are different.

First being the 350Z/G35/FX35/Altima SE-R has 10.3:1 compression, where as

    Altima/Max/Quest/Murano/Pathfinder/I35 have 10.0:1

Pathfinder motors have either cable or electric throttles. and, Way different manifolds. Timing covers are completely different not allowing for the RWD cooling tube.Upper, middle and lower intake, exhaust manifolds, oilpan configurations and the block castings are different

  • @APontiacof455cubes Tuning, intake and exhaust are the major differences in all RWD to FWD cases, Never ever compare a FWD motor to a RWD motor. There are many difference. Who cares if the block is the same. Try to swap in a 350z motor into a maxima, Turn it sideways bolt up a maxima trans, it wont work. Good luck though.

  • @ct0386 obviously the bellhousing wont bolt up to the fwd tranny or vice versa. obviously the intake and exhaust manifolds are gunna be setup to compensate for fwd or rwd. tuning? yes the vq35 has different tunes, but that doesnt make it a different motor just because one has more compression or better flowing heads. thats idiocy

  • @APontiacof455cubes You're never going to give up haha. :) We'll just end this. To each there own.

  • @ct0386 theres nothing to debate. its facts man

  • @ct0386 he's right, its still a vq tweaked for different applications so it fit and can be widely used int their whole lineup (ex for more torque @ lower rpm but sacrifice hp-pathfinder or higher top end but lose a little of low end torque -350z) but its still the same vq in all those applications and tuning does most of the work. Its not like nissan developed a new V6 like VG to VQ to VR or....... next post

  • @ct0386 KA24DE in the 240sx and older altimas. sure, ones altered to fit a FWD car but they both use a KA24DE! its the same shit whether u put it forwards or sideways

  • the 4th gen or 95-99 maximas have the vq30de first of the vq series

  • not it dont is the same vq30 but your as a differen intake and other stuff and yours is the 3.5 too but they bout look the same an fit the same

  • good ole markham

  • ive got a 5th gen max. gotta love vq!

  • lol. markham park, Ft lauderdale

  • hmm looks alot like a maxima meets in miami lol

  • In this video he had me about a door, we ran a few other times but his AWD launches would always make him take the lead, once we were going we were basically even but he was still ahead due to the launch. btw thats my maxima. im at 10psi now =)

  • ehh this makes me really miss my maxima :( (totalled)

  • VQ BABIII!!!! anyway these are 2 of ma alltime fav cars and i knew the evo is gonna pull on u but still i was sitting here like cum on max! awsome car and another great example of wut u can get out of the car that everybody think is slow!! well at least the honda guys think they are but good vid

  • who thinks maximas are slow? haha shits are quick on it and kudos to video that was sick to see a maxima keeping up with that evo. Great Cars

  • Yup! Maximas are always getting underestimated.i love my maxima SE

  • the maxima is ALWAYS understemated! its hilarious with these people who say there the family car the maxima is the four door sprots car. i also love my maxima se

  • Agreed.

  • it is a family car. but idc my mom has a 06 maxima six-speed and i love it to

  • running supercharged right now at about 12 psi, its sitting in the garage it needs a rebuild, when done should be pushing 16 psi, I'm hoping it will break at least 400 hp, 350 whp

  • they are both even.

  • who won??????????????????
