Just an FYI pal, Demon's Souls is currently out in Japan. However there are different versions of the game; Japanese, Korean and an Asian version.

The Asian version comes in full Chinese or English so you can just import that, hence the early acclaim.

games coming out in the first quarter of 2010 that i can think of right now are bioshock 2, bf: bad company 2, singularity, dark void, god of war 3, final fantasy 13 and gran turismo 5 (i think, but those 2 might come out later in the year), lost planet 2, mass effect 2, alan wake, bayonetta, splinter cell conviction, army of two: 40th day, darksiders, dantes inferno, brink and dead rising 2 (possibly, but i doubt it), heavy rain, just cause 2, red steel 2, metroid other m and SMarGal2 i think.

why arent games released in summer when the average video gamer is doing fk all? im gonna have bloody uni exams at christmas not mention like only 2 weeks of holiday compared to the four months ive had this summer

honestly thats a very good question. I think video game developers/companies still think of gaming as a market dominated by kids whose parents buy them games, and that they will buy them said games predominantly during the holiday season.

personally I think a great game (or popular franchise) will sell whenever its released. I think it might even sell better in the late spring or summer due to less competition. think GTA VI, which sold amazingly in april/may

also remember that many adults (including those who buy video games for ones self) get christmas (or holiday) bonuses in payment, thats why dvd's predominantly come out during the holidays rather than summer like they do in theatres. so they release things when people are supposed to have more money, and more likely to buy multiple copies as gifts.
