well i'm indonesian and i agree to 2025078 that most of indonesian that highly educated can speak english. but after i heard christian bautista counted in tagalog actually there are some similaries in our language and i read what vinrodarbal26 stated in tagalog has some words that are exactly same to our indonesian words like sesuai, untuk, ditonton, lapisan, and masyarakat.

for christian i hope that he will come to indonesia more often cause indonesia is very honored. i 'm a huge fan of u!

@syavidha Oh no! You haven't heard of Tausug and Samal,these are two dialects here in the Philippines, it's sooooo similar with Indonesian and Malay. Because Tausugs and Samals live in several islands in Mindanao which is very near to Malaysia, if you pass from Tawi-Tawi(a province here in the philippines) to Malaysia, it will only take one hour. I should know because I live in Mindanao!:)

I'm Indonesian, but currently stay in the Philippines for study. You, Filipino are so lucky because you can speak English and it was supported by your history where you were invaded by Spaniards, Americans, and Japanese. In our case, Indonesia, we only being invaded by Portugese, Dutch, and Japanese. None of them bring English language to our country. We viewed the Indonesian that can speak English as intelligent and highly educated. It is a career opportunity for us.

That's not mean you can speak English you're intelligent and I do understand what you say. Actually not all Filipino can speak English fluently but they're some can understand easily because it was used to it in the school.

Our Indonesian friends already offered Christian a contract, the Koreans want Christine Reyes, the Japanese want Sam Milby, the French had Billy Crawford for some time, the Americans already have Lea Salonga, Arnel Pineda and countless celebrities with Filipino blood etc.

That's really funny for some reason. Nevertheless, I wish Christian all the best with his future career plans.

@siteseer25 they are very comfortable having with christian on the show. he guested on their show several times and luna even translated all the funny talks of their co-host (bading-sori i dont know what correct word to discribe) to christian.

They really want christian to learn bahasa as the network is offering him a teleserye to start his showbiz career in indon. LIke us Sam Milby - their collegeous in showbiz talk to him in taglish to learn and even guide him on how to talk and pronounce

It is funny for them na kahit baluktot o di man makapagsalita ng english eh sila ang pino front. Parang minsan sa atin yong mga host comedian.. sina ai ai, pokwang.. willie. Kasi yon ibang Indon host naman magaling mag english. Yong di marunong magenglish kasi sila yong funny sa show.

ang diff lang sa atin kapag me foreigner yong mrunong talagang magsalita ang hinaharap. But it doest not mean napakagaling na natin sa english. marami din tayong host na di makapag salita ng straight english
