  • my left ear hurt from listenin to your story bro

  • These guys look like white avatars.

  • Snow leopards are the most beautiful big cats I've ever seen! Prettier than the tiger! They're both so pretty!

  • @JCXP123 I agree. They're my best memory of the first trip I took to the Zoo. Easily my favorite animal out there.

  • AAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!! WHY WOULD SOMEONE WANT TO KILL A SNOW LEOPARD!! THEY ARE MY FAVORITE BIG CAT!!!!!!!!!! :'( STOP KILLING THE KITTIES MEAN PEOPLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thats so cool that your in Flordia. I live in Flordia

  • These two seem quite a bit friendlier than the other wild cats, in terms of people coming near their enclosure (if you didn't know any better, obviously). Was there an attempt in the past to domesticate or partially tame these two before they arrived at your sanctuary?

  • OH... MY... GOD!!! Are you saying you are in Florida!?!?! When I'm in Tampa, I shall visit

  • So, at big cat rescue, what's your relationship with the cats? What's the level of contact you have with them?

  • @SpottedcIaw We don't allow contact with the cats, we talk to them, perform operant conditioning with them and give them enrichment but don't have direct contact.

  • Why spay and neuter them? They are endangered! >< Anyway thanks for the info.

  • @chichirinuriko20 Big cats are very rarely released into the wild, if this is done they are captive bred cats in the species survival plan, released in a controlled area. Our cats have genetics that are not pure, they are cross bred and inbred etc...They also have no hunting skills, associate people with food etc.. What needs to be done is to educate people and preserve habitat if this is done wild populations of cats will flourish :)

  • whitch cat would win in a fight a siberian tiger a lion or a jaguar or a couger?

  • @jamartin149 It really depends on the cat, but that shouldn't matter! Big Cats arn't for your antertainment in a fight! They arn't 'for' anything, they are wild animals, and should be left that way.

  • @jamartin149 i would never put big cats in danger to fight but the lion would win

  • @jamartin149 24 years old and still into yugioh? sort of explains where your question is coming from. These are real and often endangered living things, not fantasy characters with powers you can calculate with a point system when you throw them together in battle for your entertainment. By the time you research and find out enough to answer your own question, you might feel differently about the whole prospect of them fighting at all. Go for it.

  • Thumbs up if u want a snow leopard room with pics of them, they fur pattern as your wall pattern! And info on the walls about snow leopards!

  • snow leopards are the best! i seen one in Pakistan one time :)

  • I love snow leopards! They are such beautiful animals! :3

  • i LOVE how it's just sticking it's head out of the rocks! They're BEAUTIFUL animals. :)

  • I wonder how many snow leopards the "great" United States military has directly killed in their bombing campaigns in Afghanistan and Pakistan...not mention the destruction of their ecosystems there.

  • LEOPARDS ARE THE BEST OF ALL CATS !

  • Very beautiful. My zoo, Brookfield in Chicago, has a really nice space for their older female. She's very active in the winter and at dusk/dawn, but usually she just enjoys sleeping either in her indoor off exhibit habitat or on the rocks by her viewing window.

  • I want to correct myself, it's their male they still have lol. But again, very nice space and they promote habitat conservation and the snow leopard trust ( which they said they are a part of I believe but could be wrong).

  • I know I can't but I am DYING to own one of these beauties. They are my favorite of all cats. Even more than the Cheetah. People need to stop killing them. They're gorgeous. Future generations won't be able to see their beauty if they die out. Culture or not, these creatures need to be preserved. They're too precious to kill. Are there any domestic felines that look similar to the Snow Leopard?

  • @OrangeCourage1 Very true. there's not a specific breed that I know of?

  • @BigCatRescue That fails...oh well. =) Guess there's only one Snow Leopard. lol

  • @OrangeCourage1 Bengal Cats have that pattern... they're hybrids, and I've not owned one and I'm not sure. I don't know much about them.

  • @OrangeCourage1

Seal lynx spotted (rosette) snow bengal.

  • @OrangeCourage1

Siberians look like mini snow leopards. Or an all white cat.

  • Bloodcicles? Sounds good to me!

  • where is the snow in the zoo for the Snow Léopard

  • @moi1793able Obviously being situated in sunny Florida we don't get any snow, we do provide our snow leopard with a air conditioned den however so she can escape the heat if she wants to, plus we make all of our cats bloodcicles for the hot summer days :)

  • Love snow leopards. They are the best at camoflage, in my opinion. The local zoo has a snow leopard who LOVES to "hunt" people. Fist time I saw it, it was hiding behind a rock, and jumped out at us before turning around biting its own tail playfully :) It's a sweety. Whenever I go to the zoo, it always makes a point of coming to the glass of its indoor exhibit and rolling over, and always looks me in the eyes for one second.

  • Can you handle the cats? Petting them and such?

  • snow leopard is my favorite animal..so wish i could see one in real life but cant find any in the zoo :(

  • I swear to fucking god if I saw someone hunting these snow leopards I would put a bullet through their chest before they could put a bullet through those beautiful animals' chest. Humans are worse than animals and we are heavily over populated, what difference would it make taking a couple of the cancer we call humans out and keeping these sexy animals alive.

  • How do you keep them from overheating in the Florida weather?

  • @shrapnel43 The cave/rock face you see in the video is actually an air conditioned den so she can escape the heat whenever she wants to :)

  • where in florida is this?

  • @kezdodik1 Tampa :)

  • I love snow leopards (I is one) and I will deffinatly be joining big cat rescue once I can

  • What's the main difference between amur leopard and snow leopard? They look so same to me.

  • @predawn1 Amur leopards are golden like african leopards etc.. :)

  • Perddyyy kittys

  • We need to pool our resources with the whales, the wild horses, and all wild creatures who have become threatened with extinction.

  • looks like avatar skully

  • my goodness they are very beautiful cats. we need to push this cruelty away from these graceful animals. i love the big exotic cats and we need to help them live and survive

  • The snow leopard looks very thin

  • @9overandout Nope, they are a good weight :)

  • people we dont need to breed them in captivity.. We need to perserve the habitat.. Big cats that are bred in captiviy can not be let back into the wild they would not be able to hunt.

  • What beautiful eyes they have.

  • i hate seeing these cars in particular in cages because they really run and climb around alot and use up a lot of space doing shit..they dont just sit there like lions and tigers..its sad seeing these things like this..

  • One of my favorite parts of the Planet Earth series from Discovery channel was the footage of the snow leopards. I pray this amazing species survives it's uphill battle.

  • you need 2 bread plenty and plenty and plenty of them take years and breed as many as possible let some in the wild, they will survive

  • @boombapswag92 Breeding for release into the wild isn't the answer and doesn't happen, what needs to be done is to preserve habitat and educate the local people about the benefits of keeping snow leopards alive instead of hunting them if they kill livestock etc... a conservation group called the Snow Leopard Trust does just this :)

  • I can't type in snow leopard without getting something about the Mac OS. Damn you Apple.

  • to bad he cant breed :( that would of been great if he could.

  • Comment removed

  • @salvolondon These cats can never be released into the wild

  • @BigCatRescue

Why cant the cats be released in the wild?

  • @godjesusmoses Big cats are very rarely released into the wild, if this is done they are captive bred cats in the species survival plan, released in a controlled area. Our cats have genetics that are not pure, they are cross bred and inbred etc...They also have no hunting skills, associate people with food etc.. What needs to be done is to educate people and preserve habitat if this is done wild populations of cats will flourish :)

  • the snow leopard's bodies are designed for high altitudes with scarce oxygen. because you have it kept at a low altitude where oxygen is an abundance, there is much more oxygen inside their bodies, and they have a high chance of spontaneous combustion

  • Those are gorgeous, it's great to see such a rare and beautiful species.

i'm always amazed when i watch programs about large cats, just how many of the physical and behavioral traits they share with our small domestic house cats.

  • Hi!I appreciate You'r effort,to save this beautifull animals.I hope, people ,who are lived closely with them, starting to see them not just a hunter,or wild animal ,but a treasure for their country....to respect and treasure them. How can save something,if You not respect that thing?I wish You luck in You'r magnificient work!Go ,Go BIG CATS!

  • my fAv animal

  • why is the male neutered? aren't we trying to keep them from going extinct? yeah it's true that they aren't as aggressive when they are neutered but stil

  • @schizokitty177 The cats bred in captivity have to be part of the SSP - Species Survival Plan our male snow leopard wasn't needed for the program, as his bloodline was too close to others, so breeding him would have been pointless :)

  • @schizokitty177 its sounds crazy to me to neuter an animal that is in danger of extinction.this guy should neuter himself instead

  • Hands down I'd have to say, snow leopards are by far my favorite creature. So beautiful in just about every way! The fur, those eyes, those big tails! Amazing creatures in my opinion.

  • @swampyevilnut agree. the world's most beautiful creature

  • snow leopard's are beautiful :) gorgeous animal

  • I LUV THAT CAT!!

  • i love snow leopards they are soo pretty i have always loved them and still want to travel when i grow up to help save them and their habbitt

  • surely keeping a snow leopard in a stifling hot climate like Florida would be unbearable to the animal?

are there no big-cat sanctuaries in the northern US where they could have been sent?

  • @1980NewWave We obviously see our snow leopard exploring it's habitat in the morning and evening, during the day they will escape the heat in their den where it is air conditioned. She has adjusted well to Tampa though :)

  • @BigCatRescue oh thats cool!!! you guys put air con in there dens!

  • @1980NewWave I use to think that about the African cats here in the D.C. area. I know someone who works with the cheetahs and she said that most mammals can adapt fairly well, and that they just put on more fur, or don't go out as much. It's probably not much different for these guys. They probably don't go out as much, or maybe they have a thinner coat than the wild snow leopards.

  • they have amazing tails! so cute.

  • @Sanchara Was just thinking the same xD

  • Just a question, how are these animals handling living in Florida? Seriously, I'm from the mountains of Virginia and i found it almost impossible to adjust to the heat and humidity, and that cat has some think fur and its from the tallest mountain range in the entire world. I think people who own these kinds of animals or Huskies in FL or NV should be forced to where fur coats in July.

  • @markspqr Hi, we obviously see our snow leopard exploring it's habitat in the morning and evening, during the day they will escape the heat in their den where it is air conditioned. She has adjusted well to Tampa though :)

  • I'm writing a book about them :)

    the're so amazing

  • these animals are wonderful

  • it has a big tail like a cheetah

  • WHY DONT U HAV CHEETAHS :(???

  • @puttykitty03 Cheetahs are just more rarely owned by individuals, therefore there aren't many that have needed to be rescued. Unfortunately the owners of these cats would easily find people to pay for the cheetah instead of having us rescue it.

  • this is fucking sad... their not preserving anything. i swear if i see a fucking chip im going to smash it.

  • AWW! They are so freaking cuuute!!

  • Great snow leopard footage in the mountain ep of 'Planet Earth'

  • when jah kingdom comes animals will be free again like it was before 1600-1800

    haile lu jah!

  • Something interesting to note - recent studies of molecular data have shown the Snow leopard to be a sister specie of the tiger, and the common leopard most closely related to the jaguar and lion. the common leopard, jaguar and lion all emerged more recently in the evolutionary line of the genus Panthera.

  • @SaiyaMel

Really? sister species of the tiger!?!?

Yeah, the leopard scientific name is Panther pardus. The Jaguar's is Panthera onca (onca referring to its claws!)

    Great info!

  • Something interesting to note - recent studies of molecular data have shown the Snow leopard to be a sister specie of the tiger, and the common leopard most closely related to the jaguar and lion.

  • Most beautiful animals in the world

  • Beautiful! I love animals....especially the big cats. Maybe one day I'll make it to the sanctuary.

  • why do eastern countries get all the cool animals.

  • such an annoying guy and such a beautiful animal...

  • Why would a snow leopard be considered surplus?

  • Certain bloodlines breed better than other so certain animals are removed from the program to let other bloodlines catch up.

  • Aren't most of these cats descendant's of jaguars?

  • Are you talking about snow leopards?

  • do u guys have any cheetahs

  • Nope, cheetahs and jaguars are about the only big big cats we don't have at the sanctuary :)

  • i thought i saw pictures of jaguars on ur website

  • You're right we did have a couple of jaguars years ago, they have since passed :(

  • Snow leopards are so pretty, they're my fav animal! 1:37 is really cute! Thx a bunch for this video, lots of information. :)

  • The opening sound is an apple loop called 'Borealis'. ForaTV and Astronomy Cast use it too. :-P

  • snow leopard is very cute *o*, i like ^^

  • whose a cute kitty

  • what the hell, you nueterd a lepaord thats the most stupid thing ive heard, there WILD ANIMALS leave them the way they are geez, these are gonna be extinct one day and this stupid zoo of yours is to blame!

  • There are breeding programs in place for the snow leopard as part of the species survival plan. We do no breeding at Big Cat rescue, this would only add to the problem of big cats living in cages, why breed when we could give a home to a cat that needs it?

  • Snow leopards have to be one of the most beautiful cats on the face of the planet.

  • if not the most ........

and farmers killing them of for there cattle ...... it makes me sick .

  • they are beautiful!!

  • I am a lifelong cat purrson and snow leopards are my favorite. Really enjoyed this video (and I am originally from Daytona Beach, Florida!) :)

  • Good information bro.

  • Holy shit, look at that tail.

  • i know what a tail

  • there is a cat meowing at the background or am i crazy? i just love snow loeopard (LL they are beautifull!!

  • It was probably one of the nearby cougars!

  • Wow, this has got to be the most adorable big cat, haha. Just look at the eyes!

  • @TherapudicCaffeine Yeah, adorable enough to have you for lunch. lol

  • @blicksflics nah....cats are good people!

    meow.

  • Sadly the more that breed in captivity the less the emphasis is to protect their natural habitat.

  • @JoJoKaat okay. because of where they live, i can't see too much encroaching by civilization upon their habitat. i say breed many many many

  • I fully agree with @JoJoKaat. BigCatRescue, why do you do this? for what purpose? you dont make any good things to this cats, you bring them to florida, to the place opposite their habitat, you emasculate them, etc. As I got you make if for money, right, as they are the reason for donation to your organization....

  • @oxanaklimenko Hi, we do not breed our cats, we rescue them from bad situations and provide them with a permanent home for the rest of their life. Without us they would be in far worse situations or dead, we provide our snow leopard with an air conditioned den so she can escape the heat when she wants to. Please visit our website BigCatRescue*org for more info about what we do :)

  • @BigCatRescue HI! after you treat them I think you should return cats back where you took them, because you cant deside for them what is better for them: freedom or cage... and the answer is obvious... If you do this, I mean free this animals, it is really honorable thing for which people will donate money with plesure. If you dont free them, I dont understand your purposes and I consider it all for money....

  • @oxanaklimenko We wish these cats could be in the wild where they belong, but we rescue them from bad CAPTIVE situations, they are not from the wild and can never be released into the wild, this wouldn't be allowed and doesn't happen.

  • more power bigcatrescue why obama dont give a big fund for you

  • pretteh kittehs

  • I want a snow leopard!

  • No you don't. But they are a beautiful animal.

  • The cool thing is i watched this vid on a mac running Snow Leopard

  • It is Irbis

  • its pretty cool that the snow leopard isnt a leopard at all. they are the most rugged camoflauged cats IMO

  • snow leopards are the the most beautiful of the big cats. ps snow leopards are so cool!!!

  • snow leoperds are my faverit of the big cats.

  • i hope that snow leoperds dont go extinkt i would be so mad.

  • I would imagine, raising these babes privately, that like lions they would behave for about 3 months until they begin to crave meat and get aggressive.

  • Exactly, they are only cute and cuddly for so long, then they mature and become very unpredictable and BIG!

  • they dont crave meat thats just a stupid thing 2 say they rnt bloodtheirst beasts they're animals they hunt out of instinct and hunger if u dont want 2 get ate feed them

  • if any1 wants to buy a cub of this leopard, i got 7 of them raising

  • Are you serious???

  • The customer via Youtube is in Germany. Trade in exotics is not legal in Germany.

  • yeah, dude, are you serious?

  • it looks like a giant piece of stracciatella ice cream... mmhhh...

  • Never heard of that ice cream before?

  • it is white with chocolate-pieces in it. a bit like cookies and cream. very popular in europe.

  • just looking into that face with those huge eyes makes me wanna give em a hug. big cats are elegant beasts that should be respected! i cant wait until im older and raising them for a living!

  • Did you say you're going to raise snow leopards in the future?

  • wow, what a beautiful cat!

  • snow leopards dont roar

  • thats must be an amazing job working with cats ! !

  • It is indeed and even more so when you know we're making a difference everyday educating people about these problems :)

  • Just beautiful ---> Cat.

    Excellent job ---> People.

  • The faces of snow leopards just give such an air of intelligence and expression. If one just up and spoke in human words one day, I wouldn't be surprised. Such striking looks.

  • There are two snow leopard cubs available to be seen in the Albuquerque Zoo. Check them out if you get a chance.

  • Dudes, it's so great t see people caring for endangered species, this is the type of organizations our world lacks, but it's great to see it's making progress :)

  • Thank you, we're doing our best and making progress slowly but surely :)

  • What a beautiful cat!

  • very very beautiful.....fail to understand y people kill these animals for skin....it looks far betta this way, than just a sheet of leather.....

  • Hello, how do the snow leopards handle the very hot and humid Florida weather? Do they have an air conditioned place they can go if they need to?

  • Yep, exactly right, we see them more in the mornings/evenings and they can escape the heat with the a/c cave during the middle of the day :)

  • I LUV SNOW LEOPARDS! i wanna work at big cat rescue but i cant. so all i can do is recycle :( i wish america and china had more groups of rescuers like this. especially big cats. Why have i never known all these big cats were iendangered like tigers.

  • Wow thats awesome.

These are my fav cat next to Tigers :D

hard to believe people would want to kill em huh. Chinese sell the furs, how do they find them if scientists find it hard to spot one lol...

  • Are you a zoologist ? :)

  • Are you talking about Scott the presenter?

  • yupp hahaa :)

  • The cats looks pale and thin. Petty...Looks more like Steve Jobs.

  • It'd be awesome to have one sitting by my side, watching TV :P his head on my lap and he's purring like american muscle :P

  • That sounds very scary to me if you have ever worked around these cats you wiil think the same also!

  • they ars so cute

  • Its sick that some people will only withsatnd from killing the snow leopard if its beneficial to themselves financially

  • It's all about survival and making a living where these cats do get killed, if the snow leopard were to be hunting a farmers livestock the farmer would naturally go out and shoot it, the problem is solved and he can sell the snow leopard for a lot of money. The snow leopard trust is working with these local communities to help both them and the snow leopard.

  • god, if they were a pets (i.e. not dangerous) that would be the cutest thing in the world... i just want one... :D snow leopard (animal and OS) FTW!

  • Breed them! Don't neuter them! That is one way of ensuring their continuity.

  • Our snow leopards cannot be part of captive breeding programs :)
