I have a question about the opening of Zerg, why are some players build an extractor at 10/10 supply and spawn a drone, then cancel the extractor, making it 11/10 supply? does this benefit the player in anyway?
@mcsroyals according to what your oppenent is doing for example: if he has a lot of air troops you get hydras(or if protoss have gateway units you get hydras as well) if he has a lot of ground troops but almost no anti air units you get mutas
imo you need two queens for two hatcheries, one to spread out your creep. Creep is so integral to getting good surrounds and getting to enemy's bases in any sort of decent time on a large map with slow units such as hydras or roaches. Plus, if you had two queens instead of one those early phoenixes would have had no chance.

the whole apm thing at the beginning is pointless he basically has his hatch on one hotkey his lord on the other and switches between the two while selecting the drones it doesnt actually do anything however to boost your apm at the beginning when you send your scout (usually at 9) keep your scout and hatch on hotkeys and you can watch your scout while you produce drones and overlords while still mircoeing your scout around the base watch a hotkey tutorial
@TicTacToastbrot fyi he's not actually playing right now. He's watching a replay in his player view. At 9:59 he mentions that he's already watched this replay once before, and knows why his opponent had no army when he pushed in with hydras.
Oh, thank you, I need a Zerg guide so bad. I keep getting rushed by people who move really fast. Like 5 min into the game I get rushed by like 15 Zealots. Stuff like this has really broken the game for me and I've started saying I hate it. Maybe a pro strategy like this could help.
@LightningLegend12 it gives you info. on what he's gonna do and therefore you can prepare for it, if he's gonna rush you build a spawning pool asap and go build some lings or a spnie crawler if you survive the rush you can win because people who rush usually have an eco. disadvantage against you and against zerg you'd want to try to keep their eco. as low as possible and make yours high
Second, this build isn't for rushes, it's designed for mid-long games. if you scout a rush, get ur spawning pool earlier at about 12 or 13 and get out zerglings and ur queen
impressive macro/micro skills. i didnt learn anything i didnt know already, but its always fun to watch someone who is lots better than me at the actual clicking part ^_^

@MultiKaisersoze You have no clue what you're talking about, if they harass early enough to be before you're set up, your drones can stop it themselves. Failing that, your queen will be out before anything resembling an attack can get there, and that early in the game, the queen reigns supreme
This whole "High APM" means nothing if 450 out of 500 actions were just clicking stuff over and over without doing anything. I probably have a VERY low APM, but the actions I do preform actually count for something.

@anhtransport play against a.i on medium, practise 1 specific race and watch commentaries, thats what helped me. i still suck though for sure :P my and my 2 friends PTP are rank 12 bronze in 3v3 as of now. haha
I know what you mean man. When I started out I was on like, 10 losses, 2 wins, or even worse. Trust me, you'll eventually get the hang of the game. When I started scouting, and watching for specific strats I started OWNING. I'm still in bronze league but now my win/loss ration is about 1, which is still rising.
@anhtransport I started a week ago and full practice a good 2-3 hours a day on this and I see improvements now. Micro seems to be the hardest while keeping your base under control being zerg is a lot of work. You have queens to pump larva then produce the army and worry the battlefields plus its not 1 hatchery LOL!! Well how I practice is with medium AI computers try and macro controlling the bases first then go into micro. Make enough army to attack the AI computer then quickly go back to base
what is with all the clicking? i have never understood why people try to get the APM up to like 300 in the first min of the game. you are not doing anything. tell me if i am wrong.
@IVGCanadianArmy because when u spam the drone key then you make the drone as soon as you hit 50 minerals rather than waiting for your eyes to see that its 50 minerals.. that small gap lets your drone hatch about 1-2 seconds faster... do that about 20 times for drones and units and ull be 20 seconds ahead of your opponent who is starring at the mineral number :]

I know if you triple hit a control key that the unit is assigned to it will go to that unit. aka if you have a unit on ur gorup 3 and u hit 3 a bunch of times it will go to that group. but i don't think this is what he's doing. Can any1 tell me? there is another way to do it but that's for setting camera save zones and it's kinda hard to do so i don't htink thats it either

Hey im just wondering how you alternate between your hatchery and overlord so quickly, and fast macroing in general. Are you only switching between control groups, or using the spacebar/some other key? And what is the best keyboard shortcut to be able to keep up with constantly producing workers? I never use the spacebar, only control groups. Sorry if these are bad questions :)

Eh Kinda in my experiance as a toss user I dont like to auto build that many Phoenix's 2 is just enough no more ANY more and you waste a bunch of money. Coz there going to die no matter what a Early push with zealots as well would help but not that much.

The reason he spams in the beginning is because thats what you do in the higher levels, its a warmup for your fingers just as football players warm up. Youll learn.

@Iamnoguitarist Macro = Macromanagement which means the act and control over your production and production of units, spent/unspent resources and how you collect more such as expansions. That is why HD and Husky and all other great players gets out units while battleing since they have good micro and can do it.

@PatriciaCrawford2819 Vikings are never upgraded to be flying or ground, that is an ability they have from the start. They come out as flying and you can switch to "assult" mode to land and shoot ground units anytime and switch back to flying whenever you want. Note though that as flying Viking you can't shoot down ground, and as on the ground "assult mode" you can't shoot air units.

@sideous3 I enjoyed it a lot...being a sc1 player my apm is at a much higher level than my knowledge of builds and little tricks allow me to play at. Its not a noob tutorial, its a intro to new zerg strategy. This helped me see what works for zerg in sc2 a lot better.
@sideous3 this isn't really a video for beginners it's more for ppl that already know how to play at a gold-platinum level. for beginners i suggest you play against computers to learn what buildings are what and what units can do what.

People overclick for two reasons:
1: they "warm-up their hands"... In Korean starcraft proleagues almost all pros do this.

I know this is a bit old, but you dont always want your queen to have 0 energy.
Sometimes you want to save up energy for Transfuses.

A near loss at the start? Via how? It was a phoenix / Stalker+Few Zealot push.
Eh Kinda in my experiance as a toss user I dont like to auto build that many Phoenix's 2 is just enough no more ANY more and you waste a bunch of money. Coz there going to die no matter what a Early push with zealots as well would help but not that much.
anyways fyi I dont see him losing early game he was only pressured.

The two drone HD used to attack the probe at 2:20, the one that is injured never mines the rest of the game. That drone needs to be fired.

lol guys, its recorded and hes commenting on it, he can not litterally go through the options and move his mouse that fast, the human mind takes longer to react then this is taking Duh. But yes its the combination of microing , but i agree if your going to make a video for new players slow the recording down

The reason he spams in the beginning is because thats what you do in the higher levels, its a warmup for your fingers just as football players warm up. Youll learn.

@Iamnoguitarist Macro = Macromanagement which means the act and control over your production and production of units, spent/unspent resources and how you collect more such as expansions. That is why HD and Husky and all other great players gets out units while battleing since they have good micro and can do it.

@PatriciaCrawford2819 Vikings are never upgraded to be flying or ground, that is an ability they have from the start. They come out as flying and you can switch to "assult" mode to land and shoot ground units anytime and switch back to flying whenever you want. Note though that as flying Viking you can't shoot down ground, and as on the ground "assult mode" you can't shoot air units.

@sideous3 I enjoyed it a lot...being a sc1 player my apm is at a much higher level than my knowledge of builds and little tricks allow me to play at. Its not a noob tutorial, its a intro to new zerg strategy. This helped me see what works for zerg in sc2 a lot better.

@sideous3 this isn't really a video for beginners it's more for ppl that already know how to play at a gold-platinum level. for beginners i suggest you play against computers to learn what buildings are what and what units can do what.
