I'm dutch. We celebrate 'Sinterklaas' (it's 21 days before Christmas). Sinterklaas was a Saint. He has helpers who became black because they go through the chimneys of houses. Bad children don't get anything, they get spanked by a 'rou' and in the worst case taken to Spain. It's not the same as the Belsnickler but i'd like to share it. Anyway all that talking made me thirsty, i need i beer :) Greetings Sjoerd

@SjoerdvdKroon Eigenlijk Sjoerd is Sinterklaas ook maar een afgeleide van dezelfde sjamanistische oorsprong net als de Belsnickler/Belsnickel. Het feets Sinterklaas is ouder dan Sinterklaas zal ik maar zeggen. Net als het gebruik van een kerstboom ouder is dan kerst.
