oh ya you absolutely need a strap for an acoustic. maybe not if your just in your room strumming chords, but if your gigging and expending energy that soft bottom of the guitar is gonna start to slip. youll find yourself having to support the guitar with your left hand. this is especially true when you slide up the neck to solo, without a strap your only option then is to lean back and let it rest on your body.

Actually, the guitar strap is great for sit down playing.
Classical players have it down pat. You sit on a stool and you get the nut of the guitar up to about eye level.
Put the thumb behind the neck, and proportion your fingers of your left hand on each fret.
Aka, you have 4 fingers on your left hand so spread them out across 4 frets.
Anyway, that's just my bit on it. Pebber Brown taught me that. He's a guy who does free lessons on YouTube. Check him out, he taught Buckethead.

Oh one more thing, to all the girls out there who get bugged by this guy (i have also been a victim of this retard for quite some time) Nothing annoys him more than when you send his messages BACK to him. Don't get mad or upset, simply copy/paste the message/comment he sends you, and send it back to him. I tried it, and it annoyed him, and he left me alone for about 4 months...but now he is back.

yeah that guy had sent me bunch of messages telling me to wear a strap while sitting down and blah blah. it's quite annoying. so i did wear my strap while sitting down and he's all like yeah do another video with a guitar strap and sit on a stool cause you've been quite lately, also he told me to wear a vest or a shirt with a logo in one of my videos. wtf? i agree with not wear straps while sitting down, but standing? thats a whole different story.

What is he trying to do is see your boobs. He wants you to wear a guitar strap so when you sit down your boobs are seen between the strap. He is a perverted freak and thank you for this!
