@RawJobber Well I can tell you that, after a stint with Womack and Womack, the bass player went on to become and remain one of the best bass/double bass players of jazz in the country. Also he happens to have the honour of being my bro! (So I'm not biased or anything)

I remember this performance like it was yesterday - absolutely brilliant. 1986 was a great year for Eurovision Song Contest...Maynard Williams did the Britain proud!

I can't believe nobody has commented on this performance. This is the first time I've seen Ryder and heard this song and, 22 years on since it was performed, it's still absolutely brilliant. I'm singing it all day and into the night. What has happened to Maynard Williams - incredible voice, hits every note perfectly, charismatic personality. He puts most singers today to shame.
