I'm so glad i found this great video. I can't find those paper bags at all here in u.k. At least the measurements i want. So now i can start my first project mini scrapbook album. Thanks so much for this great video. x
We can't get the bags here in Australia either, but I have been lucky enough to have a USA shopper get them for me. The main reason I created these paper bags was for archival quality. Since then I've learned to be OK with non-archival products for mini albums and paper bags - I just use all acid free on my 12x12 scrapbook layouts.
Holy cow, that spray is like $7.00 in US! I had no idea there would be that much of a price difference! Yep, by far making your own envelope would be the best.
It seems to me spraying the paper bags with the acid-free stuff in a can would be a lot easier. I do think your video explained what you were doing very well.
Hi, yes spraying with archival mist would be easier but way more expensive as it cost me around $50 for a bottle which would cover 6 12x12 paper sheets, here in Australia anyway. The reason I tried to make the bags was because we cannot get the paper bags here in Australia, and purchasing them overseas is fine but the shipping cost is astronomical! Thanks so much for your comments :)
Like yourself, I also prefer acid-free for my scrapbooks. So thank you very much. But I must say, I'm at a lost. What is your blog so I can get the measurements?
OK, whenever I paste a link in the comments section it doesn't post. So please go to my blog address, go to the October 2009 archives and there's a link to the instructions there.
I'm so glad others feel the same way - I was beginning to wonder since everyone is making them with NON-Acid Free bags! I know photos now-a-days are digital and are easy to have printed, however if you don't have a LASER printer and use inks then these are NOT acid free either so you have to get them developed from the camera place anyway. What's the point of making a non-acid free album and inserting your photos knowing that they won't last! Thanks for the comments :) Really appreciate them :)
Thanks for the great tutorial. I love paper bag mini albums but haven't made any for the same reasons - they're not acid free. Now I can. Thanks so much!
